Studying Front-End Development at SheCodes was a turning point for me. I originally came from a psychology background and decided to pursue a career change into tech, initially believing I would learn full-stack development. Throughout the bootcamp, I gained skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, React, Responsive Design, and APIs. The biggest challenge was making such a drastic career shift, but the learning experience was so engaging and accessible that I never lost motivation. What I enjoyed most was seeing my progress, adding my own creativity to projects, and becoming confident enough to continue learning independently. Although I am still searching for my first opportunity in tech, I truly believe this journey is already changing my life.

A few weeks ago I didn't know how to connect to an API. Now I've built three live apps - a weather dashboard, an AI poem generator, and a world clock. All deployed and working on the internet. My journey with SheCodes started off amazing, learning code was fun and exciting up until it started to clash with my university studies. Test week at school approached and I had to put SheCodes on pause. But I ended up being too drained from school that I missed my deadline for some of my homeworks, including my final project. Luckily, extensions are allowed and it was given to me as an option. Instead of dropping out, I opted for an extension that bought me more time to finish my project. Next time, I'll try to start another workshop or add-on workshop once I've clearly set up my schooling schedule to prevent any clashes from occurring.
Completing this chapter was both challenging and rewarding. I improved my weather app by adding real-time API data, including wind speed, weather description, icons, and humidity. I also learned how to make my application fully dynamic, removing hardcoded values and ensuring everything updates based on user input. Debugging and improving the user experience helped me better understand how JavaScript, APIs, and HTML work together. Deploying my project on Netlify and updating my GitHub repository gave me more confidence in sharing my work and building real-world projects. This chapter helped me grow not only in coding but also in problem-solving and attention to detail.

They were of much help especially when it came to use of Git hub. I was supposed to have submitted my week 8 project in Jan 12 2026. Am happy I didn't quit and I have completed it in April. I canโt recommend SheCodes Python enough! The lessons are clear, the platform is beautiful, and the technical support is top-notch. I never thought Iโd actually enjoy learning about loops and dictionaries, but the way SheCodes gamifies the learning process makes it addictive. I walked away with a solid foundation in Python and a project Iโm genuinely proud of. Best investment Iโve made in myself this year! The only downside was working with Replit; it felt completely different from Mattโs explanations and often contradicted the Replit documentation, which was a bit frustrating at times.
