This course has gone by incredibly fast. I can not believe I can do some of the things we are learning. I was confident enough to add additional code to my final project that was not within the mainframe of the guidelines. SheCodes really takes you from nothing to something. Even as an absolute beginner like myself, it is easy to understand what is being taught. The exercises after each topic also make one apply what they have learned practically which helps one grasp the information and understand more. I especially liked the project at the end, where I could use all my new skills and bring them together to create a landing page on one of my favorite hobbies: plants 🌱. This was a great workshop! I got to learn a lot from this add-on project from pure css to responsive css grids, html table, css filters, hero and html embeds. I feel happy and proud that I am now familiar with more advanced topics and finished my project.

I had so much fun working on this add-on basics project. I loved how the lessons are structured for the week of this project and how I got to work on a specific CSS property after every lesson . So, when it was time to work on the final project, I had already done most of the work through challenges. LOVED it!

Having completed the SheCodes Basics program, I was initially apprehensive about whether I would be able to keep up with the curriculum as it involved a new programming language (Javascript). However, from day one, Matt's lessons were comprehensive, the community was supportive. As I said in the previous testimonial I gave on completing the Basics, what I appreciated most about the SheCodes was the emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. Instead of just reading about coding concepts in a textbook or watching lectures, we were actually coding from day one. Not only did this help solidify the concepts we were learning, but it also made the learning process more enjoyable and engaging. It's undeniable that there were hard times but going through the videos and working on the weekly projects helped me get better at it. SheCodes Basics Add On taught me new skills while practicing skills I learned in the Basics workshop, and helped me to apply them in an additional project. I felt much more confident building this project than the last and am excited to keep practicing while expanding my skill set.
There were so many things that I wished would have been different, that it would take me a really long time to mention them all. Most importantly: I really thing the videos should be revised. There are things that are outdated (like using clearfix) and no longer in use, tools that now have different versions (like bootstrap and netlify) which makes it harder to follow through the videos. But the lowest point is the lack of proper feedback on homework and (even more shocking for me) the final projects. It's "your solution works" kind of feedback. Personally, as someone who is learning to code, it's not *just* about the code working, I could really use feedback on how I could write it more clearly, etc. Otherwise I could just use an html/css/js validator and get pretty much the same answer. It's really a shame and I hope it changes in the future, because otherwise what's the difference between doing this or a full curse on udemy that costs 15€? One really wonders. Also bear in mind that unless you have nothing else going on in your life, 5 days a week is not enough to complete the week.

After 6 months of hard work, I am ecstatic to have completed this coding BootCamp. As a full-time working professional and a devoted mother, my days were already filled with numerous responsibilities and commitments. I had always been intrigued by the world of technology and coding but never found the time or the courage to pursue it. However, one day, something within me sparked, and I decided to take a leap of faith. The initial challenges were undoubtedly overwhelming. Balancing work, family, and learning a complex skill like coding seemed like an impossible task. There were moments of self-doubt and frustration when I questioned whether I had made the right choice. But the desire to create something meaningful and the potential opportunities that coding offered kept me going. I started by dedicating a small portion of my daily routine to learning coding. I set aside an hour every evening after my kids went to bed. It wasn't easy, and there were sacrifices involved. I had to give up some leisure activities and adjust my social life.
