Building a React app was tricky and challenging at first, but it is worth it once you see the outcome or the end result. The coolest part is testing and checking to see where your code works and where it doesn't, which is a main part of coding.

This dictionary project was built using React, and it is one of my favorite projects. I had the opportunity to practice creating effective components, functions, and sending properties between them to improve my application. I integrated two APIs in this project: the SheCodes dictionary API and an images API. I practiced using loops and the map method to pull and display precise data from the APIs. I worked in depth on styling the responses from the APIs to create different sections for my dictionary and to ensure the images fit the screen. I enjoyed this workshop.
Just completed the SheCodes React AddOn, where I built a vintage-inspired dictionary app. This project allowed me to dive deeper into React and create something both functional and aesthetically unique!

Completing the SheCodes Plus curriculum was an incredible learning experience for me. Throughout the course, I not only deepened my understanding of JavaScript and React, but I also had the opportunity to create a fully functional Weather App. This project challenged me to apply my skills in API integration, state management, and responsive design, all within the React framework. Seeing my Weather App come to life and being able to dynamically fetch and display weather data in real-time was such a rewarding accomplishment. The SheCodes program provided me with the guidance and support I needed to elevate my coding skills, and I now feel more confident in my journey as a developer.

I enjoyed learning React. I took a small break due to work, which I believed would make it difficult to return to where I had left. I can genuinely say I jumped right back in without missing a beat. The video lessons make it easy to return from the break and not feel completely lost. The Slack channel came in handy when I ran into an error. Overall, this was a great course, and I liked it.

The Next course was very interesting, because I got "stuck" on my portfolio website for the greater part of the week. Yes, that might have been a strange focus, but I am so proud of starting fresh with my website, attempting and achieving to learn new parts that came up later actually. My multipage React App, incorporating React routing, cards etc, is fully based on the basics learned here that gave me the confidence to venture out and believe more in me. I now feel ready to take on the "real world". Thank you!

Back to SheCodes after a long break and I must say their workshops never disappoint! I was worried that I will struggle going into Responsive after such a long break, but I realised after the first few lessons that my worries were unfounded. The Responsive workshop was divided into short but impactful lessons, which made learning quite a breeze for me. I also appreciated the ease of extending deadlines when I was unable to hand in a homework on time due to a work travel commitment. Excited to start on my React workshop soon! Overall will recommend to anyone keen into entering the world of coding. ππΌ
The SheCodes React Add-On gave me a solid foundation in React and practical experience with real-world projects. Great for building confidence in front-end development.
This weather application was built using React, and I enjoyed this workshop. I learned the basics of React and the value of components, which make my code more efficient and easier to manage using the single responsibility principle. I learned how to import and include components within each other, sending data (props) between them. I practiced extensively with passing properties between components to display data. I learned how to manage multiple files and worked with API integrations, effectively reading their response. I integrated two APIs in this project: one for the current weather and the second for the forecast. I practiced looping through arrays and focused on improving functions. Additionally, I learned how to read React error messages and make the necessary adjustments to debug my code.
Learning React has humbled me! I found this course so challenging, but I feel like I've faced my React fears. I had to go through everything I learned a few times before this new style of coding came a bit more naturally to me. I can't wait to continue learning and see how these skills can help me and hopefully get me a job!

What a journey! I started my path at She Codes right after my first child was born because I wanted to change my career. In the meantime, an irresistible job opportunity came up, and I ended up putting She Codes on hold. Now, after having my second child, I finished the Plus! Iβm still going to do the Responsive and React courses, but Iβm very happy and proud of my coding journey.

It was definitely one of the harder courses, but Matt explained react really well and after these workshops I feel a lot more comfortable with react than I ever thought I would. One downside is that the material for the API are slightly outdated, but this is obviously not SheCodes' fault. Would highly recommend this course.

Wow, the React course is a total game changer! Now I understand why many employers require this. Albeit it was quite challenging to go from the "individual components" initially learned to being able to integrate this and build a React App, it was totally worth this. I can see myself spending many more hours substantiating my knowledge. I am glad there is a React Ad-on class following this, as it's simply such a vast universe! Matt guides us super well though and makes even the frustrating moments more fun and gives us a feeling of "we are not alone". Would recommend to anyone wishing to learn React to follow his guidance!
The React workshop was a great experience! The framework is truly powerful, offering endless possibilities for building dynamic user interfaces. While the content was amazing, it was also quite challenging at times, especially when dealing with state management and hooks. I know I still need to practice to fully master everything, but overall, it was an incredibly rewarding session.
Learning React JS was really challenging but I managed to push through regardless. I learned quite a lot and I would like to thank Matt for his detailed video lessons and explanations. Getting to learn the difference between writing vanilla JS code and React JS was really amazing more that React JS is more strict. At the end of it all I am happy to have learned some skills with React JS like using hooks and state management, conditional rendering, components, installing NodeJS and other external components, how to call API's and build them. I am very excited to continue practicing and perfecting my skills and learning more as I continue my web development journey.
