Before this course, I was looking to develop new hard skills for my career. I signed up for this course on a whim, never having had ANY prior experience nor exposure to coding. I truly had no idea what to expect. So I told myself "let me just try this and see where it goes". And it was one of the best decisions I've made for my self-development! Matt is an excellent teacher, and he balances just the right amount of teaching & challenging you to find your own answers. At times, I got very frustrated with learning Javascript in particular (it honestly looked like gibberish at first), but like learning any new language, it comes more naturally with time and repetition. This course was very empowering, and has opened up a whole new world for me. I had so much fun! I highly recommend to any women looking to develop new skills for their current career, or women even considering a career change. I also highly recommend if you're a creative person that enjoys problem solving. Thank you, Matt and SheCodes team!
I am a woman who wears so many hats, and the way the course is structured is perfect for me. The chapters are not overwhelming, and Matt is a very good teacher. Community support is also a big plus as if you're stuck; it doesn't take long to get help. The assignments are very practical applications of the concept discussed in each chapter. I had to extend my classes many times because of different circumstances, and the program was flexible enough to finish the course at my own pace. I highly recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to learn how to code. I am looking forward to my next workshop, SheCodes Plus! 😉

I loved taking this course. The videos were short but informative and everything was easy to understand. The challenges made sure I understood the concepts in each lesson and I had a lot of fun with the weekly homework and especially the project. I can't believe how much I learned in such a short time. I tried a lot of self paced online training and none of them can compete with the level of SheCodes! The videos/exercices are so well made and playful. In only 3 weeks I can say that I understand how coding works whilst working a full time job! I love how the lessons were broken down for a total beginner. The sequence of skills and tasks were logical and accessible. I also appreciated the tips on best resources to problem-solve. There is also some flexibility with the deadlines which I definitely needed. All in all, I would highly recommend SheCodes!

The workshop was great. I had a small amount of coding knowledge going into it, but definitely learned way more than I knew and have better clarity on what to focus on next! The videos had plenty of tips and tricks to help guide you along the way, and if I got stuck, a team member or fellow student was quick to answer and take a look at my code for where I was making a mistake! I was very appreciative of this feature as many websites do not have this! Overall, I would recommend! I now look at webpages in a completely new light!

I was scared to NOT understand all those symbols and words coding languages are consisting of, well, not anymore: 10 out of 10 times I would recommend to join SheCodes if your goal is to really learn and start coding by yourself! The workshops are easy to understand and follow, the slack crowd is the most supportive. I am shocked and proud of myself :)

This was such a great course! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a refresher, or even someone just beginning. I hadn't taken a coding class in years. It was challenging but so worth it. I still feel like I could learn even more. The way Matt teaches is great. It took me a little longer because I really wanted to understand what I was doing. The SheCodes React workshop is extremely well structured and I felt it was a great stepping stone to learning how to build scalable apps. As always, Matt gives very clear explanations of different concepts and the accompanying mini challenges and final project help to solidify what you learn through practical application. This course was perfect that even a mom with a newborn could handle and an incredible introduction to JavaScript and API that I genuinely enjoyed! I'm currently on maternity leave and wanted to do something for myself during my time away from work while my son napped during the day. This course opened my eyes to the world of coding. As a Product Manager, I cannot recommend more than for all PMs to take SheCodes to better understand what our engineers do on a day-to-day basis for better collaboration and product development. I was always interested in coding, but I never found a good place to learn it. Until I discovered SheCodes! I enjoyed my workshop and will do some more in the future. I loved the creative freedom with my final project and took pleasure in figuring out how to solve some of the problems that came up. SheCodes Basic really helped me gain a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Before taking the course I had no prior knowledge of coding or computer science. I highly recommend this course, it was easy to follow and I did not encounter any difficulties. The content is easy to learn and in little time I was able to build pages which work well in any screen size (this is the meaning of responsive). The idea of building a page showcasing all your previous projects is great and SheCodes gives you many materials and ideas so you are not alone in this. I am proud of the page I built and hope it will help to promote my work.

Hi everyone! This is my second SheCodes' course and like the first one it was great! Really good explained and a lot of great challenges. I learned a lot! I deepened my programming knowledge and want more! :) so now it is time for the third course - React :) I highly recommend this course and can't wait to start another! :)
This course is so much fun! I, unfortunately, took long breaks in between but I would recommend doing the assignments/projects as close to each other as possible and avoiding extensions. However, life happens, and just make sure to take good notes so when you go back to it you are not completely lost.

This is ideal for anybody who is working full time and is happy to dedicate their evenings to this. The first week is the most intense if you have never done this before but then it gets easier. It's a great taster and I'm looking forward to starting the advanced course. I would recommend being strict with your timings so you don't feel overwhelmed but you can always extend the deadline if life really does get in the way. The fast response from the team on Slack and the ability to search other queries to help solve your code is so helpful. Highly recommend this course.
From my point of view, this course is perfect, but they can add some more details in JS and CSS. I highly recommend this course.

Very challenging, but also very rewarding at the end. You get to make 2 projects in this workshop and delve into the world of React. I highly recommend it. The lessons are great, plus you can always get help on Slack if something is not clear enough.

The course was fun and designed for absolute beginners like me. Toward the end of the course, I felt that I want to learn to code even deeper. There are great resources to keep you on track and motivated, especially Slack was great to me. I was inspired by many students' final projects. Definitely recommend it to my friends.
I am currently within the HR career path. However, I have always been curious about coding. I heard about SheCodes last year, and I decided 2022 was going to be my year to EMBARK on this coding journey. The main aspect I was interested in with coding was web design. 👩🏽💻I enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS. I did not expect to learn as much as I did in this coding basics class. All the lessons are ordered in a way for easy learning and comprehension. Matt is an amazing teacher. With each homework assignment and project, you get to test your knowledge! I was hesitant to learn this on my own- however with the support of the SheCodes squad/other learners, I felt empowered that if I didn't understand- I could reach out on the real-time Slack chat. My final project reflects my love for baking! I tried to make it simple yet modern. There are still some concepts I would love to learn in order to implement for further development of my web design skills! I'm not sure what the future is for my coding journey as of now. The SheCodes Basics workshop was exactly what I was looking for. I began other courses that failed to introduce the material at a basic level and found myself struggling to keep up. SheCodes Basics laid down the foundational information for CSS, HTML, and JavaScript and I am now excited to keep furthering my coding skills. I highly recommend this course to every beginner!

In every one eyes coding is a big world full of complications! Here, SheCodes made this world understandable. you can go forward step by step, not confused with hard phrases. No word is said by Matt and left undefined, every thing is clear here. Highly recommended to absolute beginners.

I had had ZERO experience with coding before I had the opportunity to do the SheCodes workshop and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The way Matt explains it in the videos is really comprehendable for everyone. I myself am just a musician but was capable of learning something so much different and I love it. I'm really considering buying the next course! Although for a non-working student it might be a bit tough haha
