Great intro to coding that challenges you to go beyond what is taught in the lessons. What I particularly love about SheCodes is the support on Slack and seeing other women on the same coding journey as me!

I joined the free class and I loved it! It seemed to be built in a more accessible way than other programs. I found that I was able to truly gain a solid coding foundation with SheCodes! Matt’s instruction had documentation, videos and we had all the support needed by using Slack where we could get all of our questions answered. If I had to go back in time and the opportunity to choose from a course to learn to code I would not hesitate in choosing SheCodes again. Both Matt and the team deserve recognition for their great work in creating this course!
I thoroughly enjoyed my SheCodes experience. Matt is a fantastic instructor, who I couldn't recommend enough; the way he takes you through the code step by step makes the general learning experience seem easy. Throughout the course you feel like you have plenty of support, Lexi checks in regularly and then there's the Slack chat, where you can go if you hit a sticking point. I can't believe it's over. I plan to continue learning with the end goal of changing my career
The course is very well-structured, Matt explains everything in a very clear (and fun) way. I found every homework very challenging: you have really to think about solutions and possibilities. I love learning by doing and this is the only useful way to learn for me. I am working as an Email Marketing manager, but I’ve never attended a proper coding course before this. This coding workshop could be beneficial for all digital marketers out there (I've already recommended to some colleagues of mine). Also, it’s possible to follow the classes in a very independent way and, at the same time, working full time. Last, but not least: thanks to Daniela and Lexi for their support!
The SheCodes Workshop is a great course for absolute beginners. There is a challenge after each lesson which helps a lot to practically learn what you've just heard/seen. Matt explains everything in a very simple easy to understand way. The support team is amazing too! You can ask anything and there is always someone to help you!

This course was amazing and definitely worth the money! I found it so useful for providing me with a helpful structure and good foundation for beginning my journey on learning how to code. This was a great and rewarding experience I would really recommend to anyone curious about coding. I was a total beginner and a little sceptical about the claims that this course can kick start a career as an actual coder. However, I feel it's a really effective foundation and there are lots of really useful tips on resources that I would not be able to get from anywhere else given I don't work within tech nor know any developer and internet is so full of information, this really strips it down to what you ACTUALLY need to know. I definitely have more to learn, but it's really fulfilling, fun and you get all the support to achieve a lot in a very short time. I did this course so that I can look back to 2020 and feel I've achieved something, and I can happily say this has definitely delivered on that ambition :)

Matt Delac is an ampathy and well-organised teacher. He knows how to teach those who have zero knowledge about coding. I really enjoy his step by step lessons. To hit each challences is also good motivated. I feel so pround of myself! All credit to Matt. I found SheCodes Plus to be a great course. It's a similar set out to SheCodes Workshop, just with a bit more content! It was a very difficult and challenging time, but the SheCodes Plus Workshop course pushed me more than ever before to keep going and to not give up in my coding journey. In several weeks I was able to learn so much more about vanilla JavaScript with the supportive team at SheCodes than I could ever have done learning just by myself. Even though my final weather app project is quite basic, I tried my hardest and best with what I could manage now, and again I'm so very glad and thankful I didn't give up. I especially love the fact that we will always have access to course materials, videos, and the Slack group even after graduating the workshop, so I am going to look over the course again and again to solidify my knowledge. I look forward to improving my skills greatly in the next workshop (SheCodes Plus React)!

What a great 3 weeks it has been! I have enjoyed every bit of it. Actually, I'm gutted it is over! The structure of the workshop was great for someone who hasn't have much experience with HTML/CSS or JavaScript and having the learning content in bite-sized chunks made it so much easier and engaging for me. I would definitely recommend this course and I hope to continue when I come back for SheCodes Plus! I have really enjoyed the SheCodes courses and would recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to code! As someone with no prior knowledge of coding I feel I have learnt a lot - the tutorials are informative and broken down into manageable segments which prevent the feeling of being overloaded by new concepts. I have always felt supported during my time on the course and would encourage anyone to give it a go!
This was the first time I've ever coded anything, EVER! SheCodes makes it so easy to learn though. I especially appreciated the real time support. My favorite part is that I can do this at home on my own time, however and whenever I choose. Most classes I've seen offered have set times & require participation in live classes, even online. This worked much better for my lifestyle & schedule. This was a great way to introduce me to coding, I can't wait to learn more!

After attending the introductory workshop session, I immediately decided to sign up. My university degree contained programming modules, however I still was not able to understand how to write code on my own. This workshop has been the first time I have able to comprehend the code I am writing. The format of the lessons were easy to follow and the slack community is extremely supportive.
It is great to gain the basic skills of coding in such a short time. Thanks to the great support of the SheCodes team you can solve quite every problem. It needs patience to learn and also to excersice a lot so that you can improve your skills, but it's worth every minute! I'm glad that I took those lessons and got a deeper insight in to this world. Three weeks flew by, that's how much fun I was having coding. I truly enjoyed every minute of this workshop, many thanks to the overly supportive employees as well. Matt's videos are so easy to follow, he breaks them down into 8-12 minute short videos and then you get to practice with a challenge. The best part is that each wee challenge had something new that you have to figure out on your own. It's so incredible how this workshop can highlight your capabilities. The feeling you get when your code works is addicting. This is my first time coding, and I can't wait for the second chapter with SheCodes.
I'm really enjoying my SheCodes experience so far, Matt and the Slack team are brilliant educators, providing clear and concise lessons and round the clock support in the world of coding, which I previously knew nothing about. I've learnt so much over the duration of the course and really enjoyed every minute. Coming from knowing very little about coding and the start of the course, I feel proud of what I have achieved. I recognised this and I've always been intrigued to learn the official coding and programming languages however I never had the opportunity nor any clue which platforms to choose from. I was impressed that a company is taking the initiative to tackle a global issue in the technological industry. Furthermore, the credibility and reliability of its CEO & Founder plus the recognition from various notable companies really did it for me. I've always dreamed of working for some of the companies mentioned. Thus, I knew I had to join SheCodes. Next, the 100% online SheCodes workshop. It has bite-sized videos with mini exercises for each lesson which encourages students to take initiative and be pro-active in their learning. One can also do it at their own time and convenience within the stipulated workshop duration. If one needs any assistance, tech support on Slack and even experienced students are more than welcome to help. I learnt a lot and appreciate the positive learning environment. As a busy full-time undergraduate and part-time HR personnel exposed to learning and development, I approved of this and recognised that such methods are the future of learning. Things get real with JS! All workshop's challenges were very easy for me, but I was glad to have a support slack chat for all Plus' challenges. I feel that I can truly built any given design now; not like easy breezy, but I think I'll get that with a bit more practice. If you want to take this serious, Plus is definitely a must.
SheCodes is an amazing project with a very special message. I'm very glad to see that a workshop is supporting women's careers in a male dominant industry. I was curious about coding for a good while but never thought I would be able to do it. A huge thank you to this amazing team for showing me it's possible and for changing my life!

I decided to attend the course out of curiosity. I don't want to be a developer, but I wanted to understand a bit of it since I work with developers and also I sell a JS technology, so it's good to know how it works to talk with my prospects. And at the end of the course I had a trip, so didn't put much effort into the final project, but the important thing is the knowledge. The course is very very good, and having the support on Slack is a super plus!!
Learning with SheCodes has definitely been empowering and interesting. SheCodes opened my eyes to a whole new world that I didn't think I could be apart of. This course helped expand my mind and learn new skills at the same time. I have a learning condition and thought that was really going to make me struggle with this course but I'm so glad to say I was wrong. SheCodes Plus was a real challenge. I learned a lot and the support from teachers was great. The course material was really good to create a simple project. When I tried to make my project more complex, I found the help I needed through the slack channel.

After learning coding basics from the free class (hey, I thought I have nothing to lose but an hour of my time 😅) and seeing how many women completed the workshops, I thought to myself, "If they can do it, surely so can I!". So I did and absolutely loved it, not only I discovered that coding ideally suits my personality and mindset, but also that I'm pretty much into the design side of things. Matt and the team provide a very safe and supportive learning environment where things are well explained and provide you with plenty of opportunities to practice yourself. I am actually an IT graduate but I haven't used my degree for 10 years. Working completely remotely brought up the need to use my knowledge. SheCodes workshop has helped me regain my confidence and polish my skills. I can't thank the team enough for the help and support. Cheers!
Taking this course was truly a life-changing experience. It was a fantastic introduction to the coding world. The lessons were super well designed and gave me the knowledge to study topics that weren't specifically taught. My experience with SheCodes has even landed me a couple interviews for technical support roles. I can't recommend this course highly enough!
This workshop was a fun and simple way to start learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript as a beginner. The lessons are engaging and easy to follow, and the support is great if you need assistance!
I chose 3 out of 5 for this product for a few different reasons. Some of the reasons I will list have a positive and a negative side to them. I am continuing on to complete the Plus and React courses as well, but the Workshop has set the tone for me in regards to expectations from SheCodes. POSITIVES: (1) SheCodes will help me reach a decent skill level in coding languages and software that are brand new to me. (2) The instructor provides good resources for you to further your knowledge [on your own]. (3) You can learn most of this information for FREE online, but the key to SheCodes is the packaging. You would have a difficult time finding a similar course that includes infrastructure, support and accountability. In my opinion, that is where SheCodes SHINES and is the primary benefit of learning code through this platform. NEGATIVES: (1) While the instructor points you in the right direction to helpful resources, I feel that SheCodes should also provide reference materials within the program (material created by SheCodes). The documentation for each lesson is helpful but it is inconvenient to hunt down, for example, how to properly code an event listener in JavaScript after I have moved on from that lesson. Also, the documentation for topics were introduced too early or too late. There were a few times where I remember watching the video then viewing the documentation and seeing concepts that had yet to be discussed in the videos - which also makes it harder to hunt down documentation later on while working on the project. (2) In the same vein, I also wish that there was actual documentation. The documentation included are examples at best, but I feel with the cost of the program, there should be accompanying text. Personally, I grasp concepts so much better when I can read something through. I understand you learn code by doing it, but I should have the option to read and understand why, for example, I have to change an image display to block if I want to center it on the webpage. The instructor videos VERY LIGHTLY scratch the surface of each language, and I feel that I deserve WAY more out of SheCodes for the cost. I still have 2 more sessions of SheCodes so maybe I will find more value along the way. CONCLUSION: SheCodes has good packaging but it only gets 3 stars from me, because I will still have to find and/or create my own reference materials to retain the skills I've learned. I am continuing on to SheCodes Plus then React, so I am excited to keep learning (especially so quickly)! However, I fear this will only amount to three INTRODUCTORY courses that I overpaid for.
