What a journey! That wasn't easy but that was always fun. The format is perfect: videos are short, every step is cut down easy-to-digest new information & regular interaction with the group & teachers (Slack/homework) really helps with accountability & progress. This was an amazing experience! Matt was a wonderful teacher and explained how to code in a way that I could understand. I love that students have access to the SheCodes staff and support from other "SheCoders". Learning to code can be overwhelming initially, like learning a new language. It's totally worth the effort though. I've created something that I'm proud of, and I learned skills that I can use now or in the future.
I enjoyed this introduction to coding so much! Every lesson was clearly understandable and everything was explained in a short and fun way. I really liked being able to put everything into practice with challenges after each lesson. This was my first introduction to the coding world and it was so much better than I had expected. If I'm being honest, I thought coding will need a lot of math knowledge and would possibly be even boring, but teacher Matt showed me that it's a fun and very creative skill to learn! I learnt a lot in just a matter of weeks and now I want to recommend this workshop to every woman who wants to learn something new in their free time or even start working in tech!
I've tried other coding courses before, and I can 100% say this is the one where I understood most and felt the desire to finish. It's fun, the community is awesome, and the teacher is great! Also, the radio keeps you focused and energized! Loved the music selection! Would 10/10 recommend SheCodes!
SheCodes gave me confidence to start learning to code from (total!) scratch and an excitement for each new lesson! I'm a violin teacher by trade and an amateur ballet dancer for my hobby, but I was looking for something "Left-Brained" to challenge me to go out of my comfort zone and try something new. Matt made it a stress-free environment to learn in, and each lesson was so easy to follow, though challenging! Thank you SheCodes! I'm starting the next level tomorrow.

These three weeks of the SheCodes Basics Workshop have been both awesome and challenging. I really enjoyed learning the very basics of coding specially HTML and CSS. JavaScript is been definitely more challenging to learn for me but I somehow managed to complete the challenges which makes me proud and stoked! Matt is an awesome teacher and he explains it all in a very simple and understandable way. Bruno and Joao have been super nice and helpful as well and all the coders from the slack platform are super keen to learn and help to each other which makes the whole coding experience really fun and friendly. I am 21 years old and have always worked retail jobs, I am looking forward to finishing SheCodes Pro to open the door to potential job opportunities. SheCodes Basic was amazing, I learned so much. SheCodes Plus was really fun even through all the pains of having to delete my code cause it kept breaking and having to pick the color,themes,functions that should be on the app. In my opinion Matt is really a great teacher. It is truly amazing the amount of progress it si possible to do when you have a good teacher like Matt who is precise and meticulous and is able to demystify code so well. I have always wanted to learn to code; at least basics. Before applying to SheCodes, I have tried couple other platforms but I used to get boring and gave up right after the first lesson.I was thinking that I will never be able to learn it. However, SheCodes workshops changed my whole perception. I loved it. Mat is a great teacher and he explains everything so clearly. The lessons are not overwhelming like others. The tasks are interesting and fun. The team is very supportive. I have enjoyed every single minute of passed three weeks. When I look at my codes, I feel so proud of how much I managed to learn. One morning I was scrolling through Instagram and randomly came across a free 60-minutes coding course from SheCodes. I usually don't bother about these things, but I just decided to go through it. The free workshop was EXACTLY what I needed to finally make the jump into coding that I had been thinking about for so long, and the Basic workshop solidified my hunger for more. I really enjoyed the SheCodes basics workshop and will continue with the SheCodes Plus course! I wanted to learn to code for the longest time but none of the courses online appealed to me. Then I found SheCodes! I would highly recommend everybody that has interest in learning how to code to join the free coding class. The way the course is structured and explained (Matt is a GREAT teacher!!) is what convinced me, during the week you have exercises to do and you end the week with homework you have to send in. You learn by doing it yourself but you have a wonderful team and community to help you if when you are stuck! I also think that SheCodes have a great mission as a company, inspiring more women to enter the Tech industry!

Matt is a good teacher. You can feel he is passionate about coding in his teaching. (no teacher can be better than one who loves what he's doing!) Class content is well-structured and -designed, one thing at a time, many practical techniques are taught. The way how each specific code works is explained clearly.
SheCodes is different from other options I’ve tried because of the community behind it, plus Matt is a great teacher. I learned lot of thing through the SheCodes and I am able to design simple web application and forward thinking to learn more from all. I started learning to code a few months ago and I can not believe how much I have learned in just a few weeks! The topics in the videos are perfectly broken down, Matt is a great teacher and makes everything so understandable, and the Slack community is a great help. It is a lot of hard work, and I have both cursed and cried during the past 8 weeks. But the feeling when everything finally works is so rewarding and makes it all worth it! I can't wait to start the React workshop and see where all this takes me!
I've started my coding journey out of curiosity if I could do it and with the help of SheCodes it quickly really became a hobby and passion of mine. I had so much fun in this 3 week workshop. Matt is an amazing teacher, he really breaks down the process in a way that makes coding a lot easier to understand he makes it feel less intimidating. Before this course, I was looking to develop new hard skills for my career. I signed up for this course on a whim, never having had ANY prior experience nor exposure to coding. I truly had no idea what to expect. So I told myself "let me just try this and see where it goes". And it was one of the best decisions I've made for my self-development! Matt is an excellent teacher, and he balances just the right amount of teaching & challenging you to find your own answers. At times, I got very frustrated with learning Javascript in particular (it honestly looked like gibberish at first), but like learning any new language, it comes more naturally with time and repetition. This course was very empowering, and has opened up a whole new world for me. I had so much fun! I highly recommend to any women looking to develop new skills for their current career, or women even considering a career change. I also highly recommend if you're a creative person that enjoys problem solving. Thank you, Matt and SheCodes team!
I am a woman who wears so many hats, and the way the course is structured is perfect for me. The chapters are not overwhelming, and Matt is a very good teacher. Community support is also a big plus as if you're stuck; it doesn't take long to get help. The assignments are very practical applications of the concept discussed in each chapter. I had to extend my classes many times because of different circumstances, and the program was flexible enough to finish the course at my own pace. I highly recommend SheCodes to anyone who wants to learn how to code. I am looking forward to my next workshop, SheCodes Plus! 😉
Coding has become my obsession lately and during this workshop, I have enjoyed so much creating my portfolio and bringing to life responsive websites. As I have always said each step of the way, Matt is a great teacher, he teaches to deal with frustration when things don't go as expected and find other ways to solve whatever challenges your facing. I'm very excited to see what's next 😃
Teacher Matt tried to teach many things but definitely not enough to do the final project. Obviously teacher knows this very well so he technically led the students to build the weather app step by step, for the last 2 weeks. He'll say "Let's do this, and this, then this..." I followed his steps and copied his code line by line and then finally it worked, of course. But to do it again all by myself? Definitely no way. It is like you learnt how to do the math, then even one-dimensional linear equation, but the final test is calculus. Teacher knows you can't do it so he writes the answer on the blackboard, and says "okay this is quite challenging but if you learn React it is much easier." Seriously? To sell senior class to a totally confused student?
I discovered SheCodes on a podcast that helps teachers transition into a new career. I never would have thought it was possible for me to learn and enjoy coding so much in just 3 weeks! Thanks to Matt and his team at SheCodes I now feel my career transition is possible. I look forward to taking the other workshops SheCodes offers!

Great course for beginners! The teacher is great at teaching information, and if something is unclear, it is easy and quick to get help.
SheCodes has been fantastic! The videos explain each part just enough to understand what to do, but doesn't give away every detail so you have to figure out somethings on your own. Matt is a great teacher! The timeline for each week is perfectly spaced out. I was able to spend just over 5 hours each week on my assignments. I ended up spending a lot longer on my final project by choice! I'm so happy to have found this class and I can't wait to sign up for the next workshop!
SheCodes Plus was really challenging workshop. There were days when I got really frustrated with coding, but as Matt always says you've got to take some time off and try later😤I am really happy to have started this coding journey with SheCodes team. It's been an absolute blast to take this course. Matt makes it so easy and he explains everything in a very pedagogical way. Fun fact: as an engineer I had a very short introduction to Python a few years ago, and I thought it was incredibly boring. Never ever had I thought that I (willingly) would take a coding course in the future. But here I am, and this course have been nothing like my previous experience. All of a sudden coding is extremely fun and I just want to learn more and more. I guess that's the difference between a really good teacher and a not so good one. Now I'm looking forward to taking SheCodes Pro that I will start with on Monday!

SheCodes Plus is an amazing course to expand on what you learn in the Basics course - and it's so much fun! Javascript can be confusing at times but Matt is an excellent teacher and explains it so well at every step. It was almost 3 months of quite hard work but the result is worth it ⭐️ SheCodes Plus requires more effort than Basic workshop but if you like challenges 💪 then this is something for you. I got bunch of new extra useful information about API and JS plus all resources necessary to build my very first application. Matt as always is a great teacher who knows how to explain the most difficult stuff the easiest possible way. Entering fascinating world of coding now I really know how much I don't know 😅 but for sure I feel more confident and I'm looking forward to continue my journey with front end development and to see where it brings me 👩🏻💻👀🛤

This was incredibly challenging. I really enjoyed learning more about JavaScript and API integration as well as learning how to properly work with Git and Github. Matt is a great teacher and I appreciate that there is a team that's willing to help you when you need assistance with your code. This is a great resource for those who are beginners but want to go more in-depth with their coding skills.
I am currently within the HR career path. However, I have always been curious about coding. I heard about SheCodes last year, and I decided 2022 was going to be my year to EMBARK on this coding journey. The main aspect I was interested in with coding was web design. 👩🏽💻I enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS. I did not expect to learn as much as I did in this coding basics class. All the lessons are ordered in a way for easy learning and comprehension. Matt is an amazing teacher. With each homework assignment and project, you get to test your knowledge! I was hesitant to learn this on my own- however with the support of the SheCodes squad/other learners, I felt empowered that if I didn't understand- I could reach out on the real-time Slack chat. My final project reflects my love for baking! I tried to make it simple yet modern. There are still some concepts I would love to learn in order to implement for further development of my web design skills! I'm not sure what the future is for my coding journey as of now. As hard as it may look or be, just keep pushing yourself. SheCodes was very flexible with me when I got sick with Covid and I will forever be grateful. Matt is a great teacher, he is explaining everything in a very simple way. I enjoyed SheCodes Basics very much and it highly motivated me to dive even deeper in these completely new field for me. The course is arranged in a very interactive way where there is a task after each lecture so it's not only theory here but practice too and this is one of the main features that makes SheCodes different than any other product on the market.
I work in a completely unrelated field (healthcare), but felt like I wanted to pick up another skill/hobby when I happened to come across SheCodes. I'm so glad I did because I ended up really enjoying the Basics workshop 😊 Matt's a great teacher and made the content really easy for an absolute beginner like myself (beginner as in, I didn't even know what HTML or CSS was before I started, much less how to design a landing page). I really enjoyed this introduction to Computer Programming! I failed this course in High school because no teacher gave me the chance to shine. SheCodes helped me regain my love for coding. Coding is something I've dreamed of doing since my awesome dad let me see the first Matrix movie as a little girl. I always knew I had it in me but the path to get there seemed daunting. I had tried to teach myself but without a good teacher and organized lesson plan, I didn't make it very far. I enjoyed the workshop so much! I've already recommended the course to friends. It is built up so well. The information is supplied to students in lots of short video's taking you through the process step by step. Having interactions with teachers and peers through slack is a great way of getting help quickly, whatever timezone you find yourself in.
The Basics workshop was so much fun! Thank you, SheCodes, for making coding fun to learn and accessible. The material is well-organized and strikes just the right balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. I especially appreciate Matt's knack as a teacher 1) to frame the concepts in clear and memorable terms, 2) to pace how quickly new material gets introduced and digested, and 3) to tailor explanations pragmatically to what we need to know yet without dumbing any of it down merely because we're neophytes. I highly recommend this workshop to beginners with no prior coding knowledge.
In just 3 weeks I learned about HTML, CSS, JavaScript languages and I enjoy every steps of my learning with SheCodes. All thanks to Matt Delac, a passionate and dedicated teacher, who challenged us a lot. I appreciate the help I received over the slack, timely and straight to point. I am really happy about the course and recommend it for sure!

The SheCodes workshop was an amazing journey! I've been wanting to start coding for a while, I started a class in the past, but I quit because was too confusing. Although I am already an I.T. Professional (former Network Specialist), I have been out of the workforce for the past few years due to raising my family. This class felt like the perfect stepping stone for me to get back out into the professional world. Matt is a great teacher and the Basics class was surprisingly very in-depth, clear, and concise. I can't wait to take the more advanced classes and become UTD on the newer libraries and interfaces current employers demand.
Matt makes an excellent teacher on the subject matter. Everything built off previous lessons flowing seamlessly. I definitely made the right choice of choosing this workshop!
