The beginners coding workshop was perfect for someone like me, looking to see if coding was something they were interested in pursuing. I enjoyed the other SheCodes workshops (Basic and Plus), but the React workshop was very disappointing. The help from the SheCodes Slack channel was pretty apathetic - my questions and the questions of other students were often "answered" with really short and thoughtless responses that made it clear that the team was not actually looking very closely at our issues. At the time of writing this testimonial, React is on version 18, but Matt is teaching version 16 after making a big to-do about always teaching us the latest version. The changes between the two aren't that significant, but they were significant enough that it made completing challenges more difficult than they should have been. I am also appalled at how often I have heard "just Google it" during this course. I paid to learn React, have someone walk me through the terminology, and follow a step-by-step guide, NOT to read forum after forum of coding jargon I don't understand. It was also very disheartening to have to complete a weather application YET AGAIN after going through it once (or twice, if you count the last two weeks of the program) in the Plus course. All in all, I did learn about React during this course, but I feel completely unprepared to tackle it in any scenario outside of a weather app.
This is amazing!!! A couple of months ago, I had a vague idea about programming. Now I can make the site the way I want. Coding is a very exciting process! I am very grateful to Matt Delac and his team for the opportunity to receive this necessary and useful knowledge.

React has been really interesting to dive in, and we can also take the chance to improve the weather app we did from the Plus workshop! It was a well-designed course. Over the weeks I built my meteorology project, step-by-step, to understand and consolidate the given material. It was a more challenging course, I had an easier time with HTML5 and CSS3 than with JS. Along the way I had a mix of emotions, enthusiasm, and frustration, but in the end, it was enriching. Excellent work to the entire SheCodes team.
I really enjoyed this basics course, it has been a good introduction. The content was easy to follow and understand the tasks required, and there is a lot of support from the team for questions.

Dear SHECODES This is an amzing platform for a beginner to learn coding. I'm seventeen and about to finish highschool. I'm not really sure about what career I want nor about the degree I want to choose in university. SheCodes helped me to broaden my horizons to new skills and a new exciting hobby. I had the idea most of us had, that coding was hard and you had to be extra smart and I got to put that barrier down. This last workshop (React) was a tough one. But when you get the hang of it, it becomes a lot of fun. Personally, I find SheCodes React was the most challenging lesson especially the Dictionary App Project. But, the beauty in this is that there's always a room for learning and improving your skills. I always feel motivated to find the solutions for each challenges given in the lessons and aim to provide a creative and user-friendly app . This course has helped me improve my understanding of JavaScript, which is the coding element that I was struggling to wrap my head around. I feel really proud of my final project and would never have thought I would be able to build, having only learnt to code for such a short time. I found more confidence in using Visual Studio Code, CodeSandBox, Git and GitHub, and I also found the SheCode team very helpful on slack if I needed guidance. I'm now looking forward to the following two courses.

I studied computer science in college about two years ago but eventually dropped the classes because I felt I couldn't understand or keep up with the materials. I must say that the Basic's coding workshop is extremely beginner friendly, efficient, and affordable. Before I almost gave up completely with being able to learn how to code and move forward into tech but now, I have my confidence back!
