In December 2021, with no knowledge whatsoever of coding, I applied to the SheCodes Workshop Foundation and was selected in January to begin learning coding with SheCodes. Today, 7 months down the line, I, Juliet Nnaji, am now a Front-end Developer who is proficient in interpreting designs and building functional, responsive, and user-friendly websites; and also familiar with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, and React. I can not say thank you enough to Matt and the SheCodes team for taking a chance on me.

It was very interesting and awesome 8 week cource. It was may be a little bit complicated for beginner in some chellanges but solved these chellanges was very useful and interesting. It`s a fantastic course which I highly recommend anyone who is looking for the way into coding. The tasks are definitely challenging, at least they are for me. I have spent several hours a day learning again and again to understand properly, not just to catch the general idea. Powerful, however it`s worth doing. The team of specialists are always ready to support if you get stuck. Deadlines - keep you "alert", so as not to fall behind. What else - it`s vital to practice evry single moment, look for alternative decisions, do additional research. It`s not a game, it`s tough and strong course requiring your full attention to embrace this knowledge. I`m greatful and a bit tired but eager to continue.

After completing the Basics workshop, I knew I needed to learn more in order to fully understand what it is to be a front end developer. Now that I have completed the Plus workshop and worked on a much more challenging project, I better understand some of the work that entails and I know it is what I am going to become! The more I learn the more I want to know and I am so glad to have come across this wonderful platform. I am definitely getting the sound foundation for which I was looking. The structure of this learning program is such that allows us to take in a little information at a time. Then build on that information week over week. I appreciate the final projects at the end that really showcase our newly developed skills. I cannot wait to begin the next workshop in the program and learn even more. I was a complete amateur when I started the SheCodes workshops and I've learned so much since then. I thought learning React was going to be a bit more difficult than it was, but I got through it with ease and Matt explained everything well. When I did have issues, I had good support from the team through Slack. I'm bummed that this is my last workshop, but excited to see where this coding journey will bring me.

SheCodes Basics was the perfect introduction to coding, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted to learn coding to develop my skillset, increase creativity and improve cross-department collaboration with the development and product teams. All of the challenges and practical exercises were extremely helpful in putting what you learnt to the test! SheCodes made something that was quite intimidating to me, very fun and interesting!
