I really enjoyed this introduction to coding! The videos were short yet informative and Matt explains everything very well. I really liked the challenges we have after every video as it allows me to practice what I've just learned which helps me to remember the information better. I already had a fair bit of coding knowledge before taking this course and I'm glad to say I still learned some new things! So far I love the flow of the course as everything Matt's taught so far connects. Overall a very good course and I can't wait to take more!
Hi there keletso here , I never thought I could ever get a chance to learn about coding but SHECODES made it possible for me I learned a lot in a space of weeks , from HTML,CSS AND JAVASCRIPT. This course was well organized as I was able to get to videos and source codes easily it is not complicated to follow through , I hope to learn more soon.
Where do I even begin?! Starting my journey with SheCodes was just the push I needed to discover my creative side again. Learning how to code has been challenging but having the videos to return back to makes it a little easier when in doubt. I would highly recommend joining SheCodes as a beginner.
I completed the Basics course with SheCodes because I wanted to challenge and computers and tech had always made me a teeny bit anxious. I'm very grateful to SheCodes for demystifying basic coding in this manner. I loved the accessibility of the course and found the videos helpful. I'm sure that what I have learned will give me the confidence to support my children in the future in what I believe will become an essential skill.
This has been the most exciting 3 weeks. Learning a whole new skill has felt amazing. The content is easy to learn and with the videos its even easier.

I really enjoyed the SheCodes Basics workshop. The homework was easy to do & each video was easy to follow through. I appreciated that they let us choose what we wanted our final project to be about. This was a fun project to complete. The videos by Matt are easy to understand and follow. It's interesting using AI and learning how tricky wording can be to prompt the AI to do what you want. The possibilities are endless. I am looking forward to learning more on how to incorporate AI in future projects.

I am so grateful to SheCodes, it has been such an amazing and interesting journery learning more about coding. I am a third year student in IT and quite honestly i have learnt more with SheCodes than i have with my IT course at University thus far. I feel really empowered to take on any coding challenges and i really appreacite Matt's videos, he has helped me understand concepts i couldn't fully understand in the past, i am so thankful to SheCodes as a whole and i look foward to advancing my coding skills with SheCodes.
I completed a basic module of coding at university a number of years ago which I enjoyed yet I fully didn't understand it and how all the elements of coding languages interacted with each other. Now having dipped my toe back into coding with SheCodes, I have found exactly what I am looking for. Step-by-step videos which explain each topic with a short challenge using this knowledge, building your knowledge gradually. You have all the lessons to refer back to, the Slack community and also SheCodes Athena AI to assist you whenever you need it. Although at times it was challenging, it enabled me to go back, re-try and check my code and it's the best feeling when it loads and works which you have solved yourself! I really enjoyed creating the final project and definitely keen to look into coding further. Thank you Matt for all your lessons and the SheCodes team!
I really enjoyed taking the course. Learning to code has been on my bucket list for years, on top of being useful for my job as CRM freelancer; however, I was never sure if it was for me or not, and I kept delaying the starting day. I found SheCodes by chance and decided to take the Basic workshop. The course is well-structured, the videos are clear and well-explained, all followed by a project to practice what you just learned. I totally recommend this to anybody who wants to try coding, just keep in mind that you will need time and to study!
As an absolute newbie to coding, I found Shecodes basics to be very easy to follow and learn. The step-by-step videos with interactive assignments helped me grasp the basics of HTML, CSS as well as JavaScript. The final project was a good test of applying everything that I learned throughout the course. Excited about starting the next workshop and learning more.

Getting more into Javascript is definitely making it harder, but the videos explain things very well - I just need to practice more.
This course is one of the best courses out there, I love the way that Matt explains things step by step and he keeps assuring us that its okey if you do not understand everything at once. At the beginning I was struggling to understand the concept of Web development but now I got to understand some of the things. This phase of the course was challenging but I'm happy I made it through. I kept going back and forth the videos to ensure that I understand the code ..I loved it all the challenges were worth it. The past week has been quite tough for me as I could not give my full time to coding. As the course has become more challenging with advanced topics, making coding more complex. I am learning slowly as I am still getting confused on some parts. I believe I can overcome this with the help of informative class videos by Matt. I would suggest my friends joining SheCodes as it provides more opportunities and add new skill set

Learning to code is a brand new experience for me. I've never thought I'd have done it in my life, but I am glad I did. Starting from zero is quite intimidating and exciting. I have basic knowledge of coding now. The process is challenging but also fun, and I enjoy seeing the results, which are my own project. Now I have massive respect for all the meticulous websites; it takes time and hard work. Learning to code has been rewarding, and I always go back to recheck the videos. Don't be afraid to try something new !
This course was just what I needed to dip my toes in! After being a product designer for about 5 years, I never really got why I should stop at Figma. I always wanted to take it a step further. But this course breaks things down in such a chill way, with great examples and videos. Can't wait to see what's coming next!
Getting into a field such as tech seemed so daunting at the start but after the first few lessons, I was so settled and comfortable. The videos were precise and easy to follow. It was such an enjoyable workshop. I can't wait to start the next one!
I faced a lot of challenges with coding but after I re watched the videos many times and extending my due dates I learnt a lot. This also taught me that I have to give myself time to understand coding, This experience is one for the books and worth every time spent.

SheCodes Plus was definitely a challenge because of the amount of new knowledge and techniques that needed to be applied to the final project. There is definitely a lot going on during those 8 weeks of workshop. So it is always good to take the time to go over the videos and challenges several times to make sure it is all clear. But it was great fun building the weather app and playing with API integrations.
It was a great learning experience. The concepts were explained to me well, in short lessons, which made it easy for me to understand. The tasks/challenges helped me apply the knowledge I gained from the video, which also helped me retain what I learnt from each lesson.
React was hard work! I'm glad I got to grips with it, and I find the video tutorials invaluable - to be able to see how to create components and be able to code-along is just like pairing with an experienced developer. I certainly didn't find this easy, but it was rewarding.
I loved SheCodes Basics. The short learning videos are almost always accompanied by a practical exercise so it makes it really hands on. I liked that the videos are to-the-point, concise and don't go in too much details. It's not a 3-hour long lecture : after 15min, you're actually getting your hands dirty and learning actionable stuff! For me, it was the reassuring phrases from Matt like "don't worry, nothing's going to explode, it's just not good practice to do it like this" or "this might be confusing but do it like this for now and it'll all come together in the next video" or "ok, this is a hard exercise but you can do it and don't forget the community and tools that can help you" and of course : "Happy coding!".
I am starting off with absolutely no knowledge of coding whatsoever, coming into this I did a TON of research on courses, what's best to take, and why it's better than the others when I fell upon She Codes. The first thing that stood out to me was the free introduction video, I like to know what I am getting into and how the course will benefit me and I have to say the video truly gave me a lot of insight and was what convinced me to finally go for my dream and take that step. It took me over 2 years to begin, and here I am graduating from SheCodes Basic, and I feel like all that research and work is paying off. I learned basic skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript and I feel that I am ready to move onto the next phase in order to work towards my goal of working as a full stack developer.

A great start in web development, you learn all the basic information you need to build your project. I found it great how it helps you visualize what the development process is like, as well as what to expect while learning. All errors faced in development were also handled and were not cut from the video, which helped me know how to handle issues that are inevitable while coding.
SheCodes is absolutely fantastic! Coding isn't a work in the park but the instructor made it easy for me to learn, the videos are clear-cut and well analyzed. A great initiative that will hopefully benefit many women. The structure of the workshop and the chosen programming languages were very good. It's very helpful to be able to watch the videos more often if you don't understand a part straight away. As these are recorded videos, the workshop is also suitable for doing after work and at the weekend. I will definitely recommend SheCodes to others.
This workshop has been easy to follow along with for someone who has never coded before. It is nice that we can go back and rewatch videos for help and also get support thru the Slack chat.
The past weeks l have been learning to code with SheCodes have been nothing short of extraordinary. I have learnt skills such as time management since the assignments have to be submitted after every week which allows for consistency and discipline. I love how the courses are grouped into short videos which are so easy to understand. With the help of Slack ,I have been able to correct my mistakes through the help of others. Slack has been a great instrument in teamwork and effective communication .I am so grateful to be a part of this opportunity.
SheCodes is absolutely amazing for absolute beginners or anybody interested in coding. It was easy to understand, there are resource link provided at the end of the videos which is great incase you want to read more about it. The challenges at the end of every lesson ensures that you have grasped the concepts being taught. The fact that they don't readily provide solution is great because it builds up resilience and self reliance which is very much necessary if you want to take up coding professionally. They also have a great team on slack to help you out incase you need help.
I never imagine doing a coding course, but I accept the challenge bit by bit I could learn what is coding by join SheCodes, the videos explaining were easy to understand.

Matt is a natural at walking people through coding fundamentals. The intro course is a great way to get your feet wet in HTML and CSS. The videos are engaging and the concepts are presented in a way that makes them easy to grasp.
I'm enjoying learning this new skill set from Matt and the SheCodes team, there are definitely times where it is frustrating and complicated but Matt's videos are pretty detailed and the team is available to help on Slack. I never would have thought I would have been able to build a "weather app."
I enjoyed the coursework. They were easy to understand and in case something wasn't clear, I could just go back and rewatch the videos without a problem. The challenges made me think outside the box for the code to work. All in all, it has been a fun experience.
Although the videos are quite comprehensive, you do have to spend time figuring out other things for yourself. But it's all part of the learning process - and it is quite fun.

I just wanted to share my experience with the SheCodes Basic Course after three weeks of studying as an absolute beginner. I can't believe how far I've come in such a short amount of time! Before starting this course, I couldn't even imagine that I could start coding in just three weeks. The SheCodes Basic Course has been an incredible learning journey for me. The way the course is structured makes it easy for even a complete novice like me to grasp the fundamentals of coding. I've built simple websites and even coded some basic JavaScript functionalities, which is something I never thought I could do. The support from the SheCodes community has been amazing. This was a good course overall, however, I thought it was a bit of a jump from the Basics course. The JS was much more complex here and at times it was quite hard to follow along to videos. However, I really enjoyed the last two weeks of having no challenges, just simply the lessons so that we could take time to implement what we learned previously.

I just completed SheCodes Basics and I've honestly learnt so much in the past 3 weeks. I love the detailed explanations in the videos as well as the support that is available every step of the way. Slack has provided me with the sense of belonging to a huge community of women who share the same interest/love for coding.

I completed this course at my own pace ,its concise and really simplifies complex information in to understandable concepts. At first , I was a bit apprehensive but the videos aswell as the shecodes interactive site really helped me.I really enjoyed learning the basics .

Building the weather application in React was tricky but the step-by-step videos broke down the process. I am proud that I have learnt to use React and used functions, use states and Axios for this project.
Shecodes crossed my path through my TikTok 'for you page', the gal was talking about a free coding workshop. I thought "It's free, why not check it out?". I missed the live workshop and to my surprise, I received a email with a recording of the workshop. While watching the workshop, I was thoroughly engaged through the entire video and thought "Oh my goodness, this is cool!" I knew I wanted to learn coding! I immediately contacted Shecodes to register. Silly me, I choose to start the workshop right before the holidays, which halted my progress a bit. After the beginning of the year, I began to focus. Learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript through the basics workshop has been exciting although I didn't realize it was going to come with some other emotional experiences. It was fun, challenging and frustrating; I even cried a few times. Through all of it, figuring things out, being able to complete the challenges and the homework; then have everything make sense with the Project is beyond personally rewarding! Frankly for me as a beginner was difficult to implement when really building any page.
