SheCode is the best online class, the videos are easy to understand and the challenges are a bit challenging but are worth it

I really enjoyed this project, and learned a variety of practical skills in the process. The video content is broken down into small, easy to follow steps so that it is never overwhelming. It's cool to come away with a working app by the end of the workshop :)
Still on my way to SheCodes Max and still loving it. I love the lesson about advanced web responsive design and learning this gives me in-depth knowledge of how other frameworks like bootstrap work. I really like the structure of SheCodes: first a video lesson, then a chance to practice, often using code snippets or tools that weren't covered in the video so we get used to accessing external resources. I'm already looking forward to the next course!

I have really enjoyed creting this project. I had a few bumps in the road which meant I had to restart but the videos make it very easy to retrace your steps and I feel like I also learnt alot abotu the process through doing this. This course helped with getting the basics started. I liked that this had practice along with the videos, helping to solidify understanding.
I really loved working on this project. I went along and created step-by.-step following each video and then modified colors, style etc. at the end. Instructions were really clear and it was easy to build while following each video so that there were only final tweaks left at the end before submitting the final project.
I absolutely recommend SheCodes Basics for everyone who is interested in coding and want to learn the basics in HTML, CSS and JavaScript! I enjoyed the course immensely and really liked learning how to code. The video sequences are very well explained. The help you get from other learners or from SheCodes makes it possible to ask every question when you experience a problem with your code or didn't understand something. This is a huge plus compared to other coding course you can take and I don't want to miss this! I'm looking forward to the next course!
Great coding concept! Informative videos and great exercises. Unfortunately the "live captions" is not in sync with voiceover/videos so would not recommend for hard of hearing/deaf people like myself
The lessons were very detailed and easy to follow, I enjoyed every part of it. I've learnt a lot and I'm looking forward to learning more. For those who feel they cannot do it, TRY IT! Matt 's videos, Athena, and the various guides are very helpful as they all contain details about what you are doing and helpful reminders. With constant testing of your page, you can find enjoyment in seeing your work come together.

Wow, I cannot believe I have completed the full Max curriculum! I have learnt so much since starting and can now create webpages and webapps with different coding languages and tools. I have to thank Matt Delac as his videos, challenges and homework have guided me to this point. It has been very fun (and hard at some points). I cannot recommend this course enough and look forward to a future with all this knowledge under my belt!

The only thing I regret is that I did not learn about SheCodes earlier. Coding can be really fun especially with a helpful and interactive video explanation from Matt. Although I've only recently started coding, I can already understand and efficiently use many codes I encounter in my work thanks to SheCodes.

I like the way the course is structured. It helps me as a PhD student and a working professional that I can watch the assignments/videos flexibly, yet there are still deadlines to stay on track. I'm having a lot of fun!π₯°
The whole process of learning was fun! I liked the fact that there were challenges to be completed. It does not only help me learn, but also master the skills for that particular lesson. It also allowed me to research and discover things that were not discussed in the video lecture.
I was very much looking forward to my SheCodes Max experience in hopes of transitioning into a new career as a front-end developer in the future. I had a positive experience in the basics course ( although I did wonder if they would actually give detailed support and feedback on your progress going forward) as this didn't appear to be present in spite of the website and course outlines claiming that feedback, support and homework reviews are a part of the courses. It seems they use the basics course to lure people into paying for the larger courses without then delivering on quality and support or content and then hit you with their discreet "NO REFUND" policy if you question their lack of delivery on their service promises. The course was shockingly poor with absolutely zero support available. The course encourages you to copy and paste code into your solutions, for homework and projects and the team do not care if you understand the material. I struggled through 9 weeks all the while asking for support and explanations and all I got in response was invalidating and patronising responses from the so-called customer success team. I put in 35 hours plus per week to try and understand the content, doing my own research online and buying books. I knew I could not successfully achieve my outcomes with this course platform to become a front-end developer without any support or tutors to help me. The videos were outdated from 2015 which also made learning the content even more confusing. They have x2 technicians who are supposed to answer questions on Slack of 100's of students, responses coming hours and days later with simple responses asking you to copy and paste code with no explanations to help you understand. I asked for a refund as I paid Β£1084 for SheCodes Max and had not learned anything in 9 weeks. I was hit with the company's hidden "NO REFUND POLICY" Be careful! I did manage to get them to return some of the money but still wasted almost Β£500 on 9 weeks of hard work, struggling alone to gain nothing at the end of it but back and forth invalidating communication from the team. I will not recommend this course or company to people who seriously want to learn coding.
I started this course knowing absolutely nothing about coding and finished this short course with a lot of knowledge about what coding is and even could be. I find myself thinking how certain websites were coded and how I would go about it myself. Although it was a lot of information, Matt did a great job at teaching clearly, having the videos to refer back too was a great help too.
with SheCodes it is easy and convenient to learn programming, and practice after each video lesson allows you to consolidate all passed materials
I've taken multiple courses online trying to learn how to code. SheCodes is by far the best with the most interactive projects and well-explained videos. I highly would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn coding.
I initially thought it was going to be daunting to learn how to code but it ended up being enjoyable. I won't lie it would get challenging but through doing my own research and the help of the Slack community, I would quickly overcome the challenge. The study material is spaced in such a way that you can take in a good amount of information in one video.The challenges were how I got to practice what I have learned and more. I was a bit worried about starting this workshop as I didn't have any knowledge in advance. The lessons were very well explained and it was not as difficult as I expected at all. Most lessons have challenges after the videos, really enjoyed thinking about them and finding the solutions. I learned lots of new things and would recommend to anyone who thinks about starting this course π

Program is easy to follow and understand. I appreciate having multiple tools to reference (the video instructions, webpage demo's, and source codes). By using a combination of learning tools provided, it was easy, but fun and challenging to work through the lessons. I wasn't bored but also wasn't overwhelmed.
As a complete beginner, this course was really easy to understand and follow. The course builds on the knowledge learned from each lesson step by step. I like that it is a mixture of learning videos and tasks, this ensures you have to implement what you have learned in a practical way too. Great that you can do it in your own time and ask for extensions if you cannot complete the workshop in the given week assigned. Will look at the other course and see how to expand my knowledge further.
Since I started this course, I have gained so much knowledge and skills that I feel comfortable to continue working on my portfolio after I finish all the courses. I found learning React challenging, however having the opportunity to code whilst listening/watching the videos allows for room to understand the concepts and recreate them. I have grown so much from not knowing anything about coding, finding it intimidation to actively looking at options to kick start a my career!
The hardest part was actually finding the time to complete the course as I was working full-time. The course itself is informative and Matt really explains everything in detail and provides examples in the videos. I liked the fact that if you were stuck on a challenge you can ask a member of the SheCodes team on 'Slack' and they will help you out with any technical question you have.
I would recommend this workshop to friends, in fact, I have already have. The videos were thorough and really easy to follow for someone who is just starting out. I am already looking forward to my next workshop!
After trying so many frontend bootcamps and watching so many youtube videos, I believe that SheCodes has been the best. The instructor explains the concepts so well that in less than in a week you can do a lot. I am grateful that i landed on this workshop and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to understand frontend developement basics.
The React workshop was with no doubt challenging but with Matt explaining very well on each video, and the SheCodes team on Slack to help us out whenever we get stuck I really recommend doing it... looking forward to the next workshop and happy coding!

SheCodes 100% definitely is the best coding workshop out there! Before starting SheCodes basics I thought I would feel discouraged or disinterested after the first week but it was completely the opposite. Throughout the course I was engaged and motivated to challenge myself and complete the tasks. The challenges and videos made coding feel so much more easier and it helped me stay on track. One thing I loved about the workshop is that I could go back to any lesson which I didn't fully understand and work on the challenges at any time of the day which is extremely useful for people who are busy. I've learnt so much from Matt and can't wait to begin SheCodes Max! π
I really enjoyed this workshop. I have a learning disability and haven't been in school in years, so I was nervous I would have difficulty, however it was pretty simple and straight forward. I actually had a ton of fun creating the last project, even so that I finished super early and tried to add in extra things that were taught, and things I googled to figure out. It was really fun! I did have issues with how the videos would teach us one thing, but then the work you needed to submit asked you to do something that wasn't even taught to you yet. I also didn't quite understand why an entire workshop for teaching women to code is taught by a man. A woman instructor would be better, though I understand Matt is the creator and therefor he teaches it all. I would really like to continue with the other workshops, however they are unfortunately not something I can afford.

Javascript is quiet challenging but going through the videos, pausing when there is a need to and taking a break when necessary is highly advised. I enjoyed building this weather app so much and would recommend people to start coding through SheCodes.
I think this was a very good experience. Videos were self explanatory and very easy to follow the instructor does a wonderful job with explaining the topics.

Just finished my Basics add-on project. It was fun creating another page. Learned how to create grid layouts and changing the theme of a page using JS. Nice way to practice more of your css and html as well. I liked how we made the project together step by step per lesson. Saved me from going back and watching the videos for the final project over again.
I found the learning experience to be engaging and interactive. The hands-on coding exercises were invaluable in helping me practice what I learned. The bite-sized video lessons were easy to follow, and the final project was fun and challenging. I will definitely recommend it to others looking to embark on their coding journey.

I enjoyed every minute of the SheCodes Basics workshop! I love Matt's teaching style. I learned while having fun and even laughing sometimes. I loved that there are challenges after most of the teaching videos. This is the best teaching style for me. You implement what you learn. I also like that it is self-paced although there is a deadline for submitting the weekly homeworks and the final project. This is good for me too because I need to be able to learn on my own time but I also need that little push to stay on track. Can't wait to start with the SheCodes Plus workshop!

I really enjoyed doing the SheCodes Basics workshop. It helped me realize that I really like coding and that I do have a future in it. It's true that sometimes it's a bit frustrating but at the end of the day you have fun in the process and you are happy with your result. Right now I'm applying to universities and this course made me realize that I don't only want to study design but I want to combine it with some software programming like computer science, animation and videogame engineering and digital design. My final project was a web page where I wrote my college admissions essay and that way I could show them my skills. :))))
This course has been really really exciting and Matt is an excellent teacher! Those videos definitely taught me a lot and I am happy it is being done like this so I could go back in case I don't quite remember. This course gives you a lot of flexibility and for that, I am extremely happy. I have always wanted to start my own business and for my final project, I did a demo of my prospective business page and I was overwhelmed with emotions. Looking forward to learning more so I can improve it!

I work full time, my brain isn't always 'online' after a long day, but the videos were easy to follow and good references for when I was struggling with something. I didn't know if I was going to be good at coding or even enjoy it, but after this first course I feel prepped and excited for the next one! SheCodes was such a fun experience for me! I just moved to a new country recently and had some complications that resulted in me only being allowed to study in January of 2024. SheCodes has been a great opportunity for me to still be able to study and learn while waiting for college to start. The videos and exercises are easy to understand, it is so easy to ask questions and I love that there are deadlines. They really helped me to stay focused during the course. The basics course is great for people like myself who never tried this before and wanted to discover if this is something I would be interested in doing in the future.

I have tried other online courses and I found the topic on responsiveness to be not so straightforward. However, Matt's videos and demo together with some tips helped me to understand this better. I am thankful to the SheCodes team and I have learnt much about Flexbox, Bootstrap CSS Utility classes and Media queries.
