I found the course very interesting and a bit challenging but with the help of the videos and Athena AI i managed to do the challenges and project swiftly.
A very interesting course, and even though it was very challenging at times, the videos helped me a lot! It was fun working on the final project little by little, although I found that during the final 2 weeks, we covered the same things as during the first 6 weeks. I'm very excited for the Plus Add-on course!
After a few mental breakdown and a lot of watching videos, lectures and readings, I finally finished SheCodes React workshop. I have learnt about React alot and it was super fun and interesting. I made a weather app which has light and dark mode. Although I left out the forecast for now, I will definitely add it later.
Very easy-to-learn workshop. In my opinion it was very efficient that there was a video, after that you have to try yourself and after that you could immediately see the solution. It was easy to start learn and do exercises, because I knew that I can do a couple themes in a day, but if I was busy I hadn't to spend so much time learning. It was motivating and rewarding, even addicting that I could do small steps every day and really learn something new.

I tried to learn coding by myself on youtube but since i discovered SheCodes on TikTok my view on coding has changed. Following the SheCodes video step by step made me understand more clearly. LOVE IT <3

Matt takes the time to show you step by step how to build your project. He also takes the time to explain why things work the way they do. He corrects his own project from video to video when he finds a better solution or understands a mistake he did. It is a very human and interactive way to teach. The challenges can be very frustrating and test your patience but once you find a solution and your project work it is very exciting and gives a Christmas-like feelingπ₯³ ! Really enjoyed the whole workshop.
I love the way the course was built. Not only you get code snippets and demos, there are also videos with Matt explaining on every topic. The course is really engaging, you get a lot of practise due to the homeworks. By the way, SheCodes is the only platform I saw that actually has people to review your homework and help with any questions in Slack. Such a great educational source and helpful community!

I am so excited to have come across Shecodes. I would recommend it to every woman out there. Shecodes came at the time when I needed it the most. The videos are short and straight to the point. I did always run away from JS. but this time I think I learn how to use it. of course, there are tons of video out there that talks about JS but it always generalizes the whole concept and not the specific step for someone who just wants to become a front-end developer. and seeing all those codes and not knowing actually where to use them was scary. but, Matt points out what was important at each step and made it easier to understand the whole process. thank you so much.
I learnt so much in this course than i have watching videos. It was more practical, engaging and the concepts were very well explained. Kudos to Matt Delac!
I really enjoyed learning in SheCodes. Everything is very accessible. I have an elementary level of English, but thanks to Matt and the video lesson, I was able to understand everything.
This responsive course is an eye-opening course! It has leveraged my website-building technique and consolidated my knowledge in Frontend and bootstrap. I love the pace of each teaching video, suitable for any type of learner. Small progress each time could definitely motivate me to work on my project step by step and make the whole learning in responsive much easier!
It was a great experience and i really enjoyed it. Every video is clear to understand and full of useful information. Challenges was not easy but interesting. I'll continue my studying with great pleasure.
The course was to a certain extent useful and I learned something new. A lot of technologies were covered, videos were short but informative that allowed me not to lose concentration. Also I liked the idea with the cheat sheets available on the web site. At the same time, Iβd like to mention the following drawbacks: - there is a gap between the course program and the course content itself, which led me to hope for more than was actually given. For instance, βSheCodes Plusβ program mentions βAdvanced Javascriptβ, while in practice we only scratched the surface. - I had a feeling that some information was repeated again and again instead of new topics being covered. - homework feedback provided was hardly useful: βYour solution is valid! Good jobβ is not an informative one. I would rather want to hear more on practices I used and my code style. - given all of the above, I believe the course is a bit overpriced
A great additional option to master your basic coding skills and complete another project. Ready for new coding challenges and looking forward for Matt's videos.
This workshop was more challenging than the previous one however when I reflect on the journey, I realised that I learnt so much. Building a weather app is not easy therefore I appreciate the amount of guidance each video provided to help with my understanding. This makes me proud of my progress and the fact that I was able to build a weather app (using real data) from scratch!
There are issues with SheCodes BASICS: If you watch the provided videos, study the attached materials/links and possibly make some notes to ensure you've truly understood the concepts before tackling the challenges, you need half an hour per lesson. There are twenty lessons in the first week alone; therefore the estimated study time is WAY off. Also, towards the end of Week 1, the lessons become notably lazy and a lot of relevant information is simply dumped below the videos. The challenge in Week 2, lesson 3 is extremely poorly explained (it gets better again after that). On the bright side: The course does introduce you to Slack and VS Code (real developer tools). Conclusion: If you're completely unfamiliar with HTML & CSS, want to get your feet wet but don't know where to start, you might as well spend 100 bucks on SheCodes BASICS. However, as of February 27, 2023, the SheCodes Terms of Use state: "It is not possible to get a refund for a course even if you contact us before the course has started." How very empowering. Mind you, we're talking about a more or less fully automated setup. Based on such a refund policy alone, I cannot recommend that you spend your money on the other (significantly more expensive) workshops. Go check out Dr. Angela Yu or Colt Steele instead.

As someone who was never interested in the field of computer science, it was only by chance that I stumbled upon the world of coding through SheCodes. However, since the first video I saw on TikTok video on how it changed another young woman's life and completed my first workshop, my life has been transformed. After completing this programme, I am able to create and solve ideas that I used to believe were complex with ease.I believe this workshop is the first of many that will land me a solid career in tech.
I struggled to understand some of the steps as when Matt was coding, the screen was jumping and I wasn't sure exactly what the changes were. I had to rewind the videos a lot to be on the same page.
The workshops are very practical and applicable. Short videos help me feel motivated and energetic, and provide me with a good opportunity to identify areas for which I need more practice. I enjoyed the weekly projects a lot and found the final project fun and exciting. The teaching materials were challenging just about the right amount for me: not too difficult to the point of being frustrating, and not too easy to lose motivation. Overall, the experience has been excellent so far.
I had fun creating my responsive portfolio. The videos were easy to follow and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to code!

Great workshop for beginners! Explanation is clear, information is very well structured, all videos are short and informative.
During this workshop, I acquired some advanced pure CSS skills to make my website responsive and user-friendly on all devices - mobiles, tablets, desktops etc. I included google maps, Spotify playlist, Youtube videos inside responsive grids, so that not only they provide adequate and convenient information for users, they also look and feel natural as built-ins inside the website.
I think one of the most practical parts of the SheCodes courses is that you can go back and rewatch the previous videos as a great review, and to make sure your physical and or digital notes are fully fleshed out. I have other friends who did live classes online to learn coding, but the digital format with the slack help works better for my learning style.
I recently attended SheCodes Basic Workshop, and I have to say it was a great experience. The e-learning videos are very detailed and made the concepts easy to understand, even for someone with no prior coding experience like myself. The workshop was well-organized and covered a wide range of topics. One thing I particularly appreciated about the workshop was the hands-on approach. We were given ample time to practice what we learned, and feedback was provided. By the end of the workshop, I felt confident in my ability to write basic code and solve simple programming problems. Overall, I would highly recommend this basic coding workshop to anyone interested in learning how to code. It's an excellent starting point for beginners, and the skills you'll learn will be valuable in any field that requires computer literacy.
It was very informative. I liked that, apart from the video, the essential information was also spelled out.
I would recommend this course to anyone interested in starting their Web development journey! Matt explains the topic very clearly and you can always come back to any part of the video if you miss or forget something from previous lessons. It will be a lot of frustration when something doesn't work yout the way you wanted to, but a lot of joy as well once your code works. I'm looking forward to the next courses and even though I know it's not gonna be easy, I know, Matt will be able to explain it in a way that we all understand it. Happy coding!!
The SheCodes Plus workshop helped me to gain a deeper understanding of HTML, CSS and especially JS. Even though it seemed challenging at first, clear and easy to follow videos made an extremely enjoyable experience. Thank you to Matt and the team for this! I signed up to SheCodes with zero coding knowledge and now I enjoy coding so much! The lessons were detailed and structured, I am sure you won't get lost in it, and I could replay the instruction videos at anytime. The challenges and homeworks are also helpful, they are a tool to get a better understanding of the materials. A tip: don't skip watching the instruction videos, and look on the bottom page of each lessons - some great and valuable tips are often there.
I started the workshop with zero coding experience, and I learnt so much. Matt explains everything in a very clear way, the videos and challenges are so well organised that makes it feel very easy and not overwhelming at all. I would definitely recommend it.
I had such a great time with SheCodes Basics! I am a complete beginner to coding but I felt the videos easy to follow and the challenges were just the right amount of difficulty to challenge me, but not make it feel impossible. I certainly got stuck a time or two, but after going back and reviewing old videos or checking out Slack, I was able to sort out my mistakes. I can't wait to do another workshop!
I would highly recommend SheCodes to anybody who would like to learn how to code, especially if you don't have any previous experience(s) with coding! I studied something completely different in Uni, but wanted to be able to transfer the passion that I have for creativity in my free time (in the future) into my 9-5 as well. I also wanted something that would continue to challenge my brain on a daily basis. After some internet searches I came across SheCodes and decided to take the free intro-to-coding class from Matt. I was hesitant at first since I had no prior experience to coding, but as soon as Matt said that you don't need prior experience and that anyone can learn how to code, I decided that it was worth giving it a try. It did not disappoint! I'm so happy that I followed the Basics course; I learned so much in 3 weeks and Matt's explanation videos were pretty easy to follow and also very helpful. At times it can get a bit frustrating when there are mistakes in your code that you're struggling to find and correct, but fear not! By retracing your steps or asking for help on Slack you will eventually figure it out and it will all be worth it! I'm exited to continue learning and can't wait to sign up for SheCodes Plus. 10/10

Passed the next stage of training in SheCodes. Needless to say, it was not very easy. It was a real challenge for me. In addition to learning to code, I improve my level of English). It's good that Matt did not cut out his mistakes in the training video, but left options for correcting them in the video lessons. It added life into the video, made learning easier. It's great that there is freedom of choice, creativity, there are no certain limits. Thanks again for the opportunity to learn!

I have never been tested so much mentally honestly. A really beautiful yet challenging experience. I had to rewatch a lot of videos multiple times as the level was quite higher than that of SheCodes basics. I learnt so much and feel much comfortable with javascript now. It was really exciting to see my app fully functioning, thank you so much to Matt and the entire sheCodes team.
SheCodes Responsive has been integral in my learning of what it takes to develop a fully functional and beautiful website! The videos and challenges were direct, explanatory, and interesting throughout the course. I have built so much confidence in my abilities through these courses!

I had great experience using this platform. I tried other sources to learn how to code but none of them did it the way SheCodes did. After i watched the videos i understood everything much better and it didn't seem so complicated anymore. The assignements they give you after every subject are so helpful. U used what you just learned and put into practice right away.
Such a great course! I learnt so much! The important aspects of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were taught very well through bitesize videos, rather than tutorials that were hours long. This made the experience less overwhelming and the information easier to digest. Great for those with shorter attention spans! The structure of the curriculum made it easy to refer to past videos when working on a later project. This course has provided me with a solid foundation to build upon.
I have always wanted to do something in IT, but didn't know what until I came across SheCodes! I have really enjoyed learning to code. I am not the best with learning, I am more of a visual leaner, I can understand better with pictures and videos, and Matt has made it easy and enjoyable to do so! I started this course with zero knowledge or experience. There were times when I felt like an imposter but I took notes, referred back to them constantly, and rewatched videos. After watching myself apply the information I was learning, I was was truly amazed at how much I was retaining in such a short amount of time. I'm excited to keep going and learn more!

Building a project step by step along with Matt has been great, I'm really proud of my work! However, two main challenges I had with SheCodesPlus: 1. The JavaScript concepts are oftentimes not thoroughly explained, it remains for the most part quite superficial, you WILL need to dig deeper on your own. I personnally studied with a bunch of Youtube videos and a Codecademy course in parallell. 2. Towards the end of the project, everything revolving around API needs to be updated. In Matt's video, he uses an older API than the one you're supposed to use. So it's quite tricky to follow his steps and understand everything. The Slack chat can be really helpful in this moment, which is very nice. All in all I'm happy with my work, happy with my progress, and the support on Slack is great. But I remain slightly disappointed by the video courses which left a lot of questions unanswered. That's the beauty of code, you might say. The learning never stop!
SheCodes is a one of a kind coding bootcamp. I am really impressed with the ways the lessons are taught. From basic HTML, CSS, and JS to the final project, I can say that I learned things from this. Given that I got the course for free, this is a good foundation for me to continue in coding. SheCodes is a good platform for everyone, beginner to expert. From their good videos to their new AI feature, Athena, who helped me in some of my codes. Thank you SheCodes team and Matt for giving me this opportunity. It was not easy to understand at the first time. I had to pause and re-play the videos many times. But it was a great experience.
This progam helped me learn a lot of basics of coding. Each video was really helpful and I think that this project was really exciting. Every detail was explained in the videos which is very helpful for a beginner like me!
I love the accountability which the weekly program offers, this means that I was more likely to stay committed. Another factor I enjoy is the fact you can easily revisit and rewatch videos, the support from Slack is super helpful and accessible. Matt teaches in a clear and playful way which makes the sessions enjoyable. I enjoy the focus on playing around with colour and design.

I really enjoyed the course, first week was the most difficult one. But the more I learned, the more interested I became. The videos give clear explanations and guidance. Especially useful I found Athena AI.
My interest in coding began in late 2022, whilst I was in my third year of University. I realised that I had little passion for my major and wanted to find something new that would spark passion within me. I had thought about going back to university after I graduated to study an MBA or something in finance. But, 2022 was a year of exploration and self discovery for me, I had met a lot of friends within the tech industry, who suggested I look into coding and that coding was a great field for women. So, I did just that. I began my research and saw an overwhelming amount of different positions within the tech industry. Immediately, I was drawn to the idea of cybersecurity and began to do a course on that on freeCodeCamp but it was overwhelmingly difficult and frustrating. I gave up as quickly as I had began. Then, I return after I had written my final year exams and went back to my research, I looked for advice from the large online coding community and everyone had advised to start with web development, as it was the foundation of understanding coding and breaking into the industry. So, I started again, watching Youtube videos, following along with them as they began to code, and at first, it was overwhelming but it made a lot more sense this time since I was taking baby steps. I spent a month being self taught, assimilating the different markup languages, wanting to perfect them before I added Javascript to my roster. I went on Tiktok and found my community in 'Black women in Tech-tok', that's when I came across SheCodes for the first time. I always knew I was a learner that needed a roadmap with structure, so I knew I would thrive in an online school or course, so I knew SheCodes would be for me. I had a stable enough understanding of HTML and CSS and SheCodes helped me begin to understand the ropes of Javascript and I'm excited to learn more, know more and grow with SheCodes. This is only the beginning of my journey with our amazing instructor Matt and the SheCodes team.

That was an interesting course for learning the basics, with having no coding background I liked the setting and the presentations. Sometimes, I felt overwhelmed by the amount of content, but actually it is not a big deal. You get help through Slack and Athena Al are terrific helpers; Athena Al walks through more details. I cannot believe how Matt makes it so easy to learn how to code, the multiple challenges and interactive videos make it easy for us to follow and implement what we learn as we go. My confidence in my abilities went from zero to almost 100% when it came to applying the concepts taught. I would recommend this course to all women around the world it is truly worth it.
I am a stay at home mom and I was scrolling tik tok one night when I came across a video for She Codes. I am not computer or tech savvy at all. However I found it interesting and decided to watch the free 60 minute coding session. After that I started the She Codes Basic and I LOVED IT!!! The whole set up was great. I loved the short videos they were so easy to follow, and challenges were so fun. I am excited to start another workshop!!!
I really enjoyed this course! I had a little knowledge about html and css before I started, but it all makes so much more sense now. The videos were well structured and well paced and I enjoyed working on all the challenges. Can't wait to start the next course with SheCodes :-)
This 3 weeks of coding have been fun! The classes and videos were very easy to understand. As a beginner with no knowledge about HTML, CSS or Java Script, I was able to build my first landing page. I am excited about my progress and will continue learning how to code. What an exciting journey into tech! Thanks Matt.
I learned a lot in SheCodes Plus! It's so satisfying being able to put everything together to create an app. Things really started to click while completing Plus. Some things I struggled with, but I always knew I'd have a way to figure out the answer either through the resources, videos with Matt, or in the slack groups. I really enjoy the structure SheCodes provides. I'm feeling more and more confident.
Before this workshop, I wasn't a beginner to HTML / CSS. However, JavaScript was new to me, the videos were easy to follow. Looking forward to enrolling in the Plus workshop.

As a designer with an education in UI/UX and strong interest in front-end development, SheCodes Basic and Plus were valuable resources on my journey towards refreshing my knowledge of HTML/CSS and Git, as well as picking up new ones in JS, APIs, and more. The lessons were clear and concise, and I liked that the platform allowed me to view and review the SheCodes videos, notes, and other recourses at my own pace. The community is also inspiring, warm, and diverse. I enjoyed connected with a handful of SheCodes alumni as well as fellow students over LinkedIn over the past months. With the help of Matt and the SheCodes community, I feel supported and engaged in my journey towards a career in combined UI/UX and front-end development. I'm also excited to continue working on this project and alongside new ones, in the upcoming weeks!
