The workshop was super easy to follow. Before I felt like coding was daunting and difficult, but Matt makes everything so simple and clear. Having challenges at the end of every video was also incredibly helpful since I could practice right away. I'm really glad I took part in this workshop!

Learning how to code through shecodes basics workshop has been a really great experience and journey altogether. I was very nervous about learning how to code, but I am honestly surprised that I really enjoyed learning the different coding languages. A friend of mine mentioned SheCodes during a conversation about skills, so I did the free class, which I enjoyed a lot, and signed up for the basics course right away. However, at the same time, I changed jobs. As I was very busy in the transition period, I kept postponing the deadline. I was afraid I would never meet the deadlines while working full time job and other having other hobbies. 2023 came and so a new resolution: stop postponing SheCodesBasics! And I'm so glad I finally did the course! It turns out it was easier and more manageable than I thought!!! The fact that is broken down in small topics with short videos helps you to manage your time (I think it also helped that I got a bit addicted π). Thank you Matt and SheCodes Team!
The SheCodes classes are a good way to get started. I think the react class is the most difficult one. It was interesting but in my opinion the other classes are enough if you just want to get to know coding. I think some videos need to be updated but generally I would recommend all the classes I took here!

This is the best coding workshop I've done. All of the videos were easy to follow and I now have a solid understanding of the basic functions of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
I really liked the course! The only two things I'd personally like to see are: 1 - consistency in what's taught in the video vs what's in the assignment. A lot of the things we're supposed to do for homework wasn't taught in the video, or was taught another way, and the answer we're given is to just "google it." I know, but if we're spending $$$ on this course, this info should also be given to us on a foundational level so we know what to google in the first place, and 2 - I'd love to see more "practice projects" that we can do that aren't necessarily graded, but we can maybe submit in a different slack channel for our peers to weigh in.
I'm a developer already, but enjoy passing the basic courses. I believe even if you know everything, there is always sth you forgot or don't know, so I've learned a lot from the basic course. The SheCodes website, its tools, and learning videos are great. I'm really looking forward to joining the next workshop.

I had zero knowledge of any languages covered in the basics program. It was simple enough to follow along with the videos, and I really liked having a challenge right after the explanation video to test what was just covered. It helped me to learn it on my own, and I now feel a lot more confident for the next workshop!

This work shop has been a challenging one. Starting with how to start using React and deploying it, and then to changing a bit of the ways you code. I had to keep reminding myself of when we are using React and when to use JSX. Luckily the videos and the SheCodes staff through Slack has been a life saver! I recommend the work shops because of the helpful explanations on why the codes work this way and not that way, and the homework and challenges will keep you on track.
Simple and digestible! This workshop was an excellent choice to begin learning the fundamentals. I liked how brief the videos were. I also liked how each video ended with a challenge to put what I had just learned into practice. I feel like the basics workshopΒ has given me a solid foundation in CSS/HTML/JavaScript that I can build on with the help of other workshops and Googling. The lecturer is also excellent at explaining things, and if you ever get stuck on something, the Slack group is extremely helpful.
The instructional videos from SheCodes are incredibly clear, and the content is structured for easy learning. It is broken down appropriately, and also follows a logical sequence. I really enjoyed SheCodes Basic and plan to continue onto the next course!

Studying coding with SheCodes has been a fantastic experience for me. I just started two weeks ago and knew nothing about coding. After two weeks I am delighted to say that I confidently have learned the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. These classes are full of fun, intrigue, and sometimes intensity. I mean intensity, positively. The pre-recorded lessons are excellent. However, video recordings alone are not enough to convey information. Hence, in order to learn faster, you need to listen attentively, take notes, and practice rewriting codes repeatedly. In spite of the fact that I only asked one question and found the solution before receiving a reply from the team. There is no doubt in my mind that the SheCodes team is awesome. Their support is always available to students, and students can count on them at any time. Prior to enrolling in the course, I had a lot of doubts about whether I should invest money in SheCodes. As a result of taking the classes covered in the first three weeks, I can say without a doubt that this has been the most valuable investment I have ever made. In addition to that, I also had concerns about payment and wrote an email to Matt elaborating on this topic. Upon receiving a response, I was offered a discount and the option of making monthly payments, which was very comforting for me. As a side note, I'd like to mention that I was neither paid nor pressured to write this testimony. It was entirely my wish to do so. (My motivation for writing this sentence is because I found some upsetting YouTube videos that were misrepresenting the SheCodes course)! Thank you, SheCodes for creating such an incredible course. Interesting introduction to coding, I appreciated the short videos followed by challenges and the structure of the workshop (with deadlines, homework, the project) which helped to stay motivated and focused.
SheCodes is an excellent course for both beginners and those trying to refresh their brain. I tried teaching myself back in 2021 and was frustrated because I was using a free site that just made you do all of the reading and wasn't very great at explanations of different concepts. I love how SheCodes is very interactive. The formatting of the video, challenge, and then explaining the solution is very effective. I also love all of the free tools such as the curated CSS gradients, cheatsheets, and all of the CSS generators. They were very helpful and fun to use for my final project so that I could easily and quickly test out what would work best (especially the generators). I would recommend SheCodes to anyone.
Great way to get your feet wet in html, CSS, and Javascript. The videos are easy to follow and understand. Like with most things, you get out of it what you put in. I think to understand code and build a strong foundation, you need to be coding every day.

One of the best decisions I've made was joining SheCodes. The experience has been a great introduction to coding for me as I've never done this before. SheCodes basics was a good way to revise the few things I had learned here and there with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It solidified my basics and I learned new things too. I completed the Basics course about a year ago and through simply reviewing the videos and following along with the code I had already built, it was super easy to jump into this Add-On course. You learn new content that builds on the content from the Basics course that isn't super overwhelming and Matt does a great job breaking down each line of code, step by step so that you are able to follow along while manipulating your own code. can't wait to start my next course!

The entire experience was wonderful. I was able to apply what I had learned to the challenges, and when I ran into problems, I would refer back to the videos. If I still couldn't figure out the problem, the question had probably already been asked on Slack, which was very useful. I also appreciated how quickly they provided feedback on the homework and pointed out your errors. The feedback, as well as having other students inquire what I was struggling with, made the experience less frightening and increased my interest.

Round 3 of SheCodes workshops was as informative, interesting and entertaining as the first. I was able to use many of the HTML and CSS techniques we learned in Basics and Plus. I really enjoyed the creative freedom we got for this portfolio project. Though there were some moments of confusion and stress with my code, I was able to pull through with the help of Matt's lecture videos and the slack chats of fellow SheCodes students. I am really happy with my project and I can't wait to start on SheCodes React and Add-on projects.

For someone with 0 coding background, SheCodes Basics taught me how to build a website from scratch using HTML, CSS and Javascript! The videos are easy to follow as well, Matt explained very well a lot of fundamental theories and why certain steps need to be followed. I can understand the instructions 99% of the time. I look forward to continuing further with coding, especially web development.
I decided to do a career change and start my software developing journey with sheCodes. I liked in was focused on women learning how to code. The structure of the course was very easy to follow. The work itself was challenging, but having the opportunity to revisit the lessons and videos as many times as I needed it helped me understand HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I took both, sheCodes basic and sheCodes plus and i find myself very confident with my coding journey after a couple months. There is more to learn to eventually get a job, but this is a solid start point.

I started coding with Mr. Matt. I totally started from scratch and I am delighted to see my metamorphosis in me after 6+ months of coding. Never have I ever imagined that I could continue my coding journey especially after my post-partum. The videos are short and covers everything to become a Frond-end Developer. This was a really great experience. I love how Matt explained everything. I loved the idea of learn then actually practice hands on. I find it very difficult to sit and watch long videos and PowerPoints. I like how Matt broke everything down into smaller categories and provided an opportunity to actually practice after teaching through a short video. I am a hands-on learner and I feel that he catered to my learning style.

A great introductory course to coding. I found Matt's instructions to be very helpful, even as someone that had no prior background in coding. I would say that the first week is definitely the hardest, but once you grasp the basics, all the information you are learning makes sense and builds upon itself. I also found it helpful to watch the videos and practice the exercises at the same time (kinesthetic learner) and pausing/rewinding when I needed too. Also the extensions were a real life-saver around the holidays! Thanks for including that option!
