This course is the best way to start learning how to code and love doing it at the same time! Matt will take you on a journey where you can learn, test and try, and be courageous and curious about it. The whole process from watching videos to doing exercises is super efficient and addictive! The simplistic nature of coding and the steps given are easy to utilize. SLACK is AMAZING when you get stuck. Having a community to communicate your walls, that you will run into learning the language of coding, is extremely relieving. If you are a beginner with no experience, it's truly simplistic Matt's approach. The videos can be sped up or slowed down also, which makes room for you to absorb all the information coming through. A great introduction to coding using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The videos and challenges work well together to reinforce what you learn and the weekly homework are fun and challenging reflecting the week's work.

I found this course very practical and useful although I didn't know much about coding. The videos were not that long to bore you and also detailed and explicit enough to understand. It's worth it to spend time! I'm so happy to have this experience and hope to have the rest of this journey with SheCodes to be a professional!

I saw the ads for SheCodes online, and I am so glad I committed to the Basics! With a busy schedule, I was able to complete the course in only 16 days! Everyday, I spent an hour to an hour and a half watching/ rewatching the videos and practicing.I feel as though I learned so much information. Basics is definitely beginner friendly, and I hope to continue this journey with SheCodes!

I find that Matt is really good at explaining in his videos, the SheCodes team is always there to help on Slack. I enjoyed being able to work on my coding and still work a part time job! Still loving learning about coding and can't wait for Responsive and React!

It was a great opportunity for me to join this workshop. In fact, for me it was a complete review of what I had already learned along with new and informative tips presented in a lovely platform including perfect videos and challenges.

I've been having a lot of fun with the SheCodes Plus program, plus gaining confidence that I can create an app that works. Months ago, I enrolled in the SheCodes Plus workshop as a complete newbie. Today, I am a lady in tech. Each video was really easy and clear instruction to understand, and each challenge was step-by-step. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn how to code from scratch!

The method of video training and how to debug during training was very useful for me and I almost got the answer to my questions in Matt's complete explanations. Thank you very much to the SheCodes team 🙏😊

I really liked this course. The lecture material is very structured. Learning takes place at my pace, I can speed up the video, or repeat it 3 times until I understand the material. After that, I wanted to continue learning Java Script. Now I have an idea of how much I still have to learn.

SheCodes is very well-designed and informative. Having pre-recorded videos fits my learning style as you are able to go back and rewatch videos as needed. I am looking forward to continuing further in the course.

I have to say that SheCodes React was not the same as SheCodesPlus or SheCodesBasics. React is very complicated, it has very abstract concepts and it's difficult to grasp. There was a plan for the lesson and mid-video, it completely changes from what we already did to an architecture that makes your whole code malfunction. It would have been better to follow a structure right away and to keep a persistent and confident goal per-lesson. I would say Matt doesn't teach you how to fully comprehend React but to be a Programmer instead of a Developer. Basically, just do this and there you have a working app instead of explaining every single concept carefully so that you can create your own functioning app. A lot of: "This is complicated but you don't need to understand this so let's skip this" and once:"I don't really know what Im doing but thats how the coding journey is like". The architecture is not excellent and naming is not good. This is absolutely crucial to learn in the beginning of your coding journey. There's so many commands that really help to edit your code more effectively and I found out from another source that is not SheCodes. Also, re-rendering is incredibly complicated and is a persistent problem from React. But currently I don't know enough information about this matter to make a proper statement of what SheCodes could have done better. The structure of lesson + video really does help and its appreciated, because theres so much to learn that you can get lost without it. Also, you can access and re-watch everything you've learnt, which is super helpful. SheCodes team is very efficient and they really do help, also Matt! I do believe that SheCodes is really amazing. Honestly, I love the concept and if it's possible I would love to explain to the team exactly what could be done better. To conclude, I genuinely appreciate the Delac Foundation in general. If anyone pays the price to be in this course, they deserve to have a consistent-problem solving-course.

SheCodes has given me a solid foundation of coding, I had no idea where to start yet SheCodes made it so simple and easy to follow. Coding isn't necessarily easy or simple but it is a language, and Matt's tutorial videos are straight forward and sectioned into bite-size chunks so you CAN follow without getting overloaded with information.

Loved all the video classes, super easy to understand. And the methodology is very nice, because you not only learn the theory but also are exercises for almost all of the classes. A really good way of learning.

SheCodes provides students with plenty of exercises to help them learn the subject. The videos are simple and to the point and quite enjoyable. I prefer tutorials that are fast-paced and informative, so I liked the videos a lot.

I really enjoyed She codes plus and now I'm excited to start She codes Response and React. The best part of the course for me was the very organized videos. Each video was really easy and clear instructed to understand, and each challenge was step-by-step.

Matt's videos were excellent and I am proud with what I managed to get through in one week!

I should admit that workshops are the best in coding classes and the whole classes I have attended. Matt has incredible teaching skills. I have to congratulate the SheCodes team for their fantastic platform and method of teaching coding with short videos, challenges, and solutions.

So far have enjoyed the course, like the step by step approach and the fact that in most of the challenges you have to do a bit of research yourself and not just to apply the same way what was presented in the video examples.

The SheCodes Basic course was a great! I learned a lot about the foundation of coding. The videos are very well done and easy to understand and follow the instructions. I love that after every video we are required to practice what has been taught. It really helps to reinforce what you had just learned. Awesome course! I'm looking forward to learning more and potentially enrolling in another SheCodes course.

This was a great introduction into the basics of coding. The lecture videos were straightforward and the assignments were enjoyable to work on.

I found SheCodes enjoyable and easy to navigate. The fact that each learning module was around 6-12 minutes long meant I didn't feel under pressure to commit hours of studying at a time (which is something that usually leads me to procrastinate!) The challenges along the way kept things interesting. I liked the casual way Matt explains things in the video as it feels more approachable and low-pressure than a formal academic approach. I found the first week the hardest and took up the most amount of hours. By the second week I felt more comfortable and there were less modules so I was more motivated to finish the week early. Make sure you leave plenty of time for the homework at the end of each week, I underestimated how it would take me to complete the Week One homework so had to push my start date back. I ended up finishing the entire course a week early after my initial slow start, so there's quite a lot of flexibility when it comes to your learning schedule and deadlines. Overall I would recommend SheCodes. I'm excited and motivated to keep learning!

At the beginning of this course I was very nervous because I genuinely thought coding was going to be this complex subject that was going to require me having to do courses for maths or statistics and I was ready to give-up. But after the first five lessons, yes, I said it, after the first five lessons I already knew I am very much capable of doing this course and I have enjoyed very bit of it. From the videos recorded by Matt, to the weekly homework challenges. Cannot wait to do the next workshop🥳

Very nice workshop! I enjoyed learning about grids, transform, and other CSS properties! I feel like I'm getting more used to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and it was fun putting the project together using all of those! I love how everything is taught in an easy to understand way and you can always go back to the video to refresh your memory and understand it better. I also really like the challenges and how they give you good practice on doing something you just learned about so you get more knowledge and experience. I feel like I'm learning a lot!

This has been an incredible intro course into the world of coding. Matt's videos are very informal and easy to follow, and the resources provided makes it coding extremely accessible to anyone who wants to try and build their own projects. I had a lot of fun working through these challenges, and I look forward to continuing my coding journey, and it is all thanks to SheCodes!

Great, approachable way to get into coding. I felt like there was a helping hand available if I needed it, but also encourage to find the answers yourself. Great practical exercises and very helpful to see a solution video of Matt explaining his logic and method of approaching a coding exercise as opposed to just 'getting the answer to it' - that's very valuable for a novice coder to see how an experienced coder would approach the same problem.

Having very little experience with coding before taking this course, I was a little apprehensive about taking it. There was no need to be apprehensive as Matt did a great job in the videos of explaining how everything works! And I had fun learning and making the final project.

SheCodes Basic is the best workshops to learn coding as a beginner! The videos are very easy to understand. also homework is simple if you watch the related video.

Very challenging, but it was also quite fun! Seriously, I feel quite lost in the middle of the course because the javascript code was quite hard to understand 😂 But the slack, github documentation and the course video were my hero. It was really helping me to understand the code bit by bit. If I don't understand the code yet, I just need to replay the video or read the code documentation. And so glad 🤗 that SheCodes have extension feature. I got quite sick for almost two weeks and need to be hospitalised because my condition didn't not get any better at home. I was still learning in week 4 at that time and need to request an extension for my homework. So I can focus at my recuperation, the extension feature was really a big help.

This is one of the best decision I ever made. I was already studying coding for a bit, and gets so frustrated with how unnecessarily complicated it is. Matt, makes the learning so much fun and easy. He is really a gifted teacher. What i struggle to understand sifting through blogs and youtube videos, Matt clear it up in less than 10min. His passion and excitement is very contagious. I really enjoyed my learning experience, and looking forward for the next workshop. 😇

It was an amazing experience! Each new video lesson added new opportunities for solving the task. I really liked the result of my work - a working Weather application, and so nice!

SheCodes makes learning how to code easy! The "Learn" videos teaches how to change an item on a page, before you are encouraged to apply what you've learnt within mini "Challenges". It is perfect for ultimate beginners or someone with previous experience of coding; more importantly: it is fun!! SheCodes is also a community waiting to support one another; this truly makes a difference! I wished I learnt how to code this way a long time ago!

After years of considering a career shift - I'm working in the art field and had started some short programming courses here and there - I finally found in SheCodes a platform that works very well for me. This is the second workshop I have done and it is going well. Even with work and university this is manageable, and even if not, the extensions really help when having a stressful week. The videos are easy to understand and helpful.

Very good and creative. Loved the videos and the challenges. It was frustrating and tiring at times, coding is not easy but I am happy I learn something new, and maybe I can put it to use in the future. I was watching youtube videos about whether programming is for me. I really liked it, so I decided to take it, and I looked for a course where I would be helped along the way in an understandable way, with constant attention. I looked at several free introductory courses before I decided, and there were some that almost put me off learning... But I found SheCodes, and I could not be happier. This has been a fantastic experience. The Basic course covered so much in 3 weeks that I now feel more confident with HTML, CSS and Javascript. Throughout the course, the lessons, challenges, and solution videos were structured in a supportive and detailed way. I knew nothing about coding, and upon starting SheCodes, I've learned a ton. I feel so comfortable with code. I'm able to problem solve my code fairly quickly thanks to the many informative videos.

Hi. First of all, Shecodes did a great favor and and a nice move fir iranian women, letting them have the basics course for free. It was so heartwarming and made me realize I had a passion for coding. Matt, as the instructor, explains everything so simplely and easy to understand. The best part is that the videos are short and you can watch them a million times! Coding is not those weird symbols that you see when you get an error! It's so much fun. I loved every second of it. The SheCodes Basic program was an amazing dive into the world of coding! The video lessons were positive and encouraging, making it easy to get excited for each step of the process. The homework was fun and intuitive to follow; I love that we were thrown into JavaScript right away! I can't wait to learn more & continue with the next workshops 💜

So glad I took the Plus workshop. Learning about APIs and how to use pure Javascript to make a search engine were really valuable skills. I feel like I understood about 90% of the material and needed to re-watch a few of the videos a few times to really understand, but they were still easy to follow and I learned much more by the final lesson that I knew while I was struggling in the middle.

I did it🎉😍 The learning process did not always went smoothly, but the great platform you guys offer and created for learning made the whole experience simpler and pleasant. The lessons are well organized, the videos are clear and the small and large challenges contributed for a deeper understanding. SheCodes Basics was a great workshop for beginners like me. The short-form videos and step-by-step instructions are digestible and easy to understand. Usually, I struggle with concentrating so this visual format was ideal for my style of learning. Each week's workshops are very clearly organized, which made finding solutions to my problems easy to figure out on my own. And the challenges and homework are very comprehensive. I hope to enroll in more advanced workshops in the future.

These five weeks have been super interesting and educational. With the help of video lessons, I worked not only on the project but also on myself. I highly recommend this course.

Super fun and challenging! Spent many hours coding and learning how to build responsive sites. All the videos and challenges gave me the tools to create my first fully responsive portfolio. I'm pretty happy with how my final project ended up looking!

I really struggled with React. I found it incredibly challenging and really relied on reviewing all the videos multiple times, using the source code, lots of googling, reading others questions in the slack channels. But that being said, the material was presented in great details so I was able to learn all the items but also teach myself how to make send of things. I think I am just going to need a lot of practice working with many, many components. I was very impressed with the layout of the courses and how he was able to "translate". As I have said all along, I highly recommend SheCodes!!

I came into the workshop with little knowledge and coding. The format was great for quick videos and practice challenges. I really enjoyed the final project!

I enjoyed learning about how to make websites more responsive. I also found this section to be a nice refresher of CSS and HTML, diving deeper into those after an intensive Javascript course was helpful for me as it is the foundation for all websites. I did find the work on this particular section to be a bit repetitive, as we coded the same site twice. I chose a different final project to try something new. However, I appreciated that for this final project we were allowed to choose from 3 different designs. I chose one of the designs that we had not previously done. I'm glad that there were options and that I was able to code my project without video tutorials as the tutorials were following a different design.

I have always been intimidated by all the different coding languages and formats, despite my interest in coding. SheCodes has been an excellent resource for a beginner like me. The videos are easy to follow and short, which means it is not tedious at all! This workshop has been an interesting experience and I am amazed at how much I can do after only the basics workshop.

I really enjoyed this little bootcamp! It's a deepdive into web development and really lets you get a feel for the day-to-day of an engineer. I enjoyed watching the videos, found the challenges engaging and had lots of fun completing the final coursework!

I remember when I was terrified when watching coding videos on Youtube and wondering if that was what I wanted to work with. I'm starting from zero and now I can say I enjoy coding and I can't wait for the next steps. Matt has a wonderful way to explain the details and makes coding really enjoyable.

This intro workshop was challenging and fun! The over-the-shoulder format of the lesson videos is super helpful, and the homework and final project really help to solidify everything I've learned so far.
