When I joined SheCodes, I had zero coding experience, and Matt made coding so easy to learn. I love the way the lessons are divided into short videos, and they give a new activity in almost every lesson to put into practice what has been learned and makes it easier to memorize the information. I'm very proud of everything I've learned so far. And I can't wait to learn more.
With zero prior coding knowledge I watched the free coding video to see what coding is all about. I was instantly interested so I took part in the SheCodes basics course. The whole experience was exciting, fun, and difficult at times . Matt's a brilliant educator, his teaching style enabled a smooth this transition into the coding world for me. Credits to technical support and the supportive students at Slack. This is just the start for me, I look forward to learning more in the upcoming course.
I absolutely loved this workshop. I learned so much during this process and I absolutely loved the final project that we got to do. Building the Weather App was such a fun experience and it really taught me a lot about my abilities and was a great learning experience at filling in the gaps. I really appreciated all the feed back that I got from the instructors and Matt gave great information in the lecture videos.

Absolutely loved it. Although enrolled in a full time university course, it was very possible to conclude the course. It's well structured, videos are not overwhelmingly long, the topics are broken down in a logic manner and it teaches you how to think about coding.
It was so easy for me to learn how to code, the videos were extremely helpful and I can't wait to enter a field with this information.
SheCodes Basics was a lovely way to be introduced into the world of coding. The video tutorials were incredibly easy to follow, and you're also given the source code so you don't have to worry about frantically taking notes. The Challenges along the way ensured that you understood the material and served as a useful checkpoint. I genuinely enjoyed my first coding experience!
The workshop is not bad for someone who's just starting! I've taken an HTML class in college and I feel like there's a lot of information left out to know. But I'm trying to remain optimistic since I know this is just the basics workshop. If you don't plan on taking any workshop past the basics, I suggest you watch more videos on YouTube, Udemy, or read an HTML and CSS basics. Extra outside resources is always good!

I had had ZERO experience with coding before I had the opportunity to do the SheCodes workshop and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The way Matt explains it in the videos is really comprehendable for everyone. I myself am just a musician but was capable of learning something so much different and I love it. I'm really considering buying the next course! Although for a non-working student it might be a bit tough haha
I was hesitant at first cause coding is more like a man-relating thing and it seemed to be difficult to learn. But SheCodes courses are very easy to understand and practical. Especially I love how Matt approaches and instructs coding languages in less-than-10-minutes videos so that I do not feel bored or tired to give up. Many thanks to Matt and the team.

I personally feel quite strongly that it's important to learn new skills from people who are passionate about them. It is clear that Matt is very passionate about teaching these skills in a clear, uncluttered and approachable manner. Each concept is introduced in a bite size video that is easy to fit into a corner of your day without feeling overwhelmed. I've learned that while there are endless possibilities of things any person can accomplish in theory, the surest way to actually do a thing is to make it easy for yourself. This course has made coding easy and convenient for the beginner. The variety of resources made available through the SheCodes site such as color palettes, cheat sheets and CSS code generators also show the attention to detail put into the process. Then there is the other half of the matter: access to a community of like-minded women ready to help when you get stuck. This eliminates the feeling of isolation despite being 100% online. All in all the whole learning experience feels very thorough and well thought out. Thank you to Matt and the SheCodes Team for all the care you have put into designing the SheCodes journey.
Coding is really fun, it is very satisfying to construct a page and experience how ideas are materialized. The team has been most supportive, questions get answered promptly. Most importantly, the instruction videos are clear and easy to follow and I love that it allowed me to learn according to my pace.

SheCodes Plus has been a whole new level of challenge, but it is achievable. Follow Matt step by step to create a fully functioning weather app. Users will need to do their own practice to really get good but this is a great set of guiding videos to get started.
The SheCodes Basics workshop is a fantastic foundational program for those interested in learning how to code, or those like me, who may have previously self-taught. The step by step video teachings are easy to follow and understand, and the challenges, with provided solutions, add an extra step to become more comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The dedicated Slack channel provided support and encouragement from peers, and having my assignments reviewed by a member of the SheCodes team helped me to gain confidence in my coding skills with their feedback and guidance. I was hesitant to bite the bullet and join but I am SO GLAD I did. Previously, I did do a quick HTML/CSS coding course but there's something different about SheCodes. Matt's teaching style is easy to understand and the challenges really help you master what is being taught. The Slack community is also very helpful if you're confused or need help! Being able to take things at my pace and my own time and being able to review the videos was especially great. I will be recommending SheCodes to anyone I know!
This was my first time learning about web structures and coding. I liked the way that everything was taught from basic. Also I think one of the other highlights of this workshop is that we have to submit the challenges, and because of that, we interact with coding, more, and we can even learn more by doing the challenges. We can watch the videos anytime we want and that's great!! I really enjoyed learning!
I had dabbled in learning HTML and CSS before taking these classes out of curiosity, but never felt confident enough to pursue a career in coding. After taking these classes, I feel I am building myself a great foundation to make the leap into a career. With the available resources, Slack chats, and ability to get real-time help, as well as life-time access to the videos, I am much more confident in my skills and am building myself a portfolio.
I love SheCodes! I love learning all the new aspects of becoming a Software Engineer and I'm hoping I can get a job in the field, once I have completed the courses. Its so easy to learn with Matt's great teaching videos, answering questions I'm thinking of without having to ask! He knows what hes doing! It's so easy to learn and you can do it all in your own time. If you want to learn how to code, this is the way to go. I have looked at so many courses, which I found to be confusing. And although there are some things I get frustrated with when coding, Matt and the team are always there to help.
SheCodes Basics was a tremendous help in providing the necessary courses for the basics of coding, and the classes ended up inspiring me to continue coding through SheCodes. Doing the course actually helped me find a new niche of people and things I now love to do, regardless of how difficult the current material may be. I finished this in a week because the lessons were great and slack provides that human interaction. a lot of classes are just videos with no way to communicate with anyone regarding questions. This brought me back to myspace days when I would rush home to mess around with code all day!! highly recommend it.
I liked the fact that the course had structure and deadlines. Really helpful in making sure I kept up with the course. The support team was brilliant and amazing at what they do. I did find bits of it slow or tedious - but I actually enjoyed the final project. I will be continuing on to the next course. would recommend for complete beginners. the way Matt talks you through step by step really helps you focus. 3 months ago I didn't even know how to write a single line of HTML and now I've created 4 projects with SheCodes! I just turned 42- you are never to old to start something new. Matt and the SheCodes team are absolutely amazing. This is unlike any other bootcamp or workshop you may have tried before. The video's are structured in a way that anyone can learn. The community of teaching assistants Slack and other students are always there to help with any questions. The timing of the workshops can be done around any schedule - work, school kids if you have 15 minutes you have time for SheCodes. I enjoyed the workshop so much! I've already recommended the course to friends. It is built up so well. The information is supplied to students in lots of short video's taking you through the process step by step. Having interactions with teachers and peers through slack is a great way of getting help quickly, whatever timezone you find yourself in.

I come from a health care background looking to transition to the digital and technological world. I saw many opportunities for bootcamps, self-paced studies, and other coding resources but what I loved about SheCodes is that it gave me structure. I am well capable of learning on my own, but because I am so new to the industry, I didn't know where to even start. SheCodes Basic was an amazing experience. The lectures are very straightforward and filled with all the information you will need to succeed in completing all the lesson challenges and final project. The video lectures never got too long and monotonous, Matt did a great job organizing and blocking certain topics and following it up with a hands on challenge. He also gave the solutions after each challenge with the opportunity to resubmit and correct your work if necessary. Help was always available through the Slack chat and a team member always responded within a timely manner. This course was a great introduction to solidifying my future plans. I will be continuing this journey and diving in deeper! Thank you Matt and Team for helping me understand this whole new world of computer language!

SheCodes was my first ever attempt at coding. The whole process was very easy to follow, the online videos and group chats were a great help! I am very grateful for SheCodes for allowing me to explore the world of coding, I will definitely be completely my next coding course through SheCodes.
This was my first SheCodes class and it was a really great experience! It covered quite a bit in the few weeks but we got so much hands on practice as we went through each topic. The community aspect was great when running into issue or trying to troubleshoot. The videos themselves were short but informative. For an asynchronous class, this was one of the best experiences I have had.
As someone who knew 0% on how to code, there were plenty of TikTok videos that stated coding as a fun, new career path. BUT it wasn't until I saw & attended a free SheCodes coding class that I was convinced coding can be fun, AND can be my new career path! Having completed the SheCodes Basics Workshop, I can confidently say I didn't feel alone in the learning progress whatsoever; fellow classmates from around the world along with reliable tech assistants who offered help in any challenge, or homework I was stuck on. Also the teaching materials were clear to understand, which is why I highly recommend beginners with zero skills in coding to take the SheCodes Basics Workshop! Now that I've built my first project, I'm excited to know what's in store for SheCodes Plusπ€©
SheCodes was fast paced but really enjoyable. The videos explained things really well and it helped to see Matt trial and error things. I hope to take another workshop in the near future. The community on Slack with fellow students and mentors is very helpful for troubleshooting. I wish the feedback for the homework was a little more personable but with so many students I understand that it can't always be, but that's another reason why the community is helpful too. Thanks SheCodes for re-igniting my want to learn to code!

This was a fun, well-structured course. Matt did a great job breaking down the material into digestible chunks. Great introductory course! I learned a ton! I went into this course knowing absolutely nothing. I feel a lot more confident. I plan on taking more courses with SheCodes in the future. The assignments really forced me to stay on track and complete all of the lessons. I liked the pace of the course and the videos that Matt provides for each lesson. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

I've had so much fun working on this project! It has been a welcome creative output in between classes and exams. I'm very excited to use the tools I've learned and basic HTML, CSS and JS to create other projects in the future. As always, the instruction videos are wonderful, but for this project I've found the lovely support team on Slack to be especially helpful. The team at SheCodes were also very approachable to get extensions etc. during exam season.

Having previously done a data and SQL course elsewhere, which I found too abstract, I decided to try front end so that I could see what I'd built. What an incredible experience! I knew very little about coding before I started SheCode Basics, but that wasn't a problem. Matt does an incredible job of breaking things down and explaining them in easy bite-sized videos so that you can learn slowly without getting overwhelmed. This coding workshop was exciting as I could not wait for the next lesson and to build my final project afterwards. I had no previous knowledge about code, but lessons were made to gradually teach everything you need to make a webpage from scratch. I love the fact that I can pause and rewatch videos as well as ask for help at any time. I absolutely loved it and I'm confident I want to continue to learn coding!

I was really surprised by how quickly I picked things up and was able to understand the different coding languages, it was a real confidence boost. The final project was an opportunity to play around with coding and be creative, and put a little of my personality into the code. Never knew that I would be able to build a weather app by myself from scratch to a fully functional weather forecast. These 8 weeks lessons are not easy to be honest, especially week 8: lessons 5 and 6 have a lot of new and complex information. It was overwhelming but after watching the videos again and again with lots of practice, I MADE IT!
After finishing the first workshop I knew I would do all other but I didn't know how much fun it will be. Had a lot of fun, learnt a lot. Got a lot of awesome tips to what and how to search in google, how to use coding tools and a lot more. all videos are clear and the staff always ready to help if you got stuck.
Attended a coding course back in my university days. Classes were so dry that i always held a bad impression for coding. SheCodes exposed me to a whole new world to coding! I never would have imagined it could be so much fun! Really love how Matt Delac teaches and conducts the course. Every video is taught with so much clarity and with prompt assignments, to ensure we are able to followup with all the new information. Looking forward to attending the next level of SheCodes!

He does a very good job of teaching the basics from the beginning and showing step by step how something is built. I especially liked when Matt would reference pretty popular websites like Instagram. Showing us how they applied the features he just spoke about in the video. I feel that I have learned a lot, and have much more to go. Can't wait for my other workshops!

The Plus course was challenging at times but there's enough information to guide you through and a community ready to help. I had a great time going through the videos and building this App alongside Matt. It was great to be able to have enough knowledge (after just Basics and Plus) that enabled me to experiment with the design. Access to help from the team on Slack was also brilliant. I'm looking forward to completing my portfolio in the next two rounds!
I wish someone had told me earlier how much joy there is in coding! It is like learning a new language and doing magic. I was able to start from a foggy memory of changing the colour of my MySpace to confidently creating my own (very basic) webpage. The format of having a challenge to accompany each video is instrumental for learning as it chunks information and checks for understanding. I can't stop bragging to everyone I know about my new skills!
I really liked the sessions . The topics have been discussed very vastly which will help any beginner to start developing the web pages . My most favourite is the challenges after the sessions which helped me to practice all the learnings we got through the video tutorials

When I first met SheCodes, I liked its purpose and vision - providing coding education to women who are lack of representation in the ICT fields. That's why I took the SheCodes Basics. I liked it but it took me one year again as well as Covid/disc problem to seriously consider changing my career to ones related to coding where I can work from home. I think SheCodes is such a good place for beginners like me to taste the world of coding and kick off the career. I was interested in coding for years but couldn't really start anything - I had no idea what to do first. Some people just take free courses/youtube videos to start but I needed some in-person guidance and a kind-of basic structure of knowledge with explanation. SheCodes indeed provides all of that. Slack community makes me feel I'm not alone (even though everything is online) and feel I do have people to ask all the questions I have. That helped me a lot. I really wish this would lead me to the career I want to have in the future so that I can write amazing testimonials again.

While HTML and CSS are fun to play around with (even if you're not sure what you're doing) Javascript is objectively terrifying! Matt's videos made it much more digestible and I look forward to revisiting my app in a few weeks to see what else I can improve (I've got some ideas about custom icons!) ... On to the next one...

I really enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS on the SheCodes Basics course. The videos are short and simple making them easy to understand. There are always mentors available to answer any questions you might have when you encounter difficulties. We need more women in the tech industry and SheCodes is tackling this problem by giving us the tools to develop coding skills.
As a visual learner, these video lessons have been a life saver! I really grasped what was being taught. I had tried other platforms that were not video based and felt extremely lost. Being able to see someone work through the problem, and do it with them in real time has been the game changer for me. Being able to see the code I just inputed actually work gave me such a sense of pride, and I was having so much fun coding I lost track of time (no joke!)! I have thoroughly enjoyed the SheCode basic class . Short videos encouraged me to look into it and hence thinking that it is doable within my busy day to day schedule. Matt reads our mind and answers to most of the questions that comes up in our mind within the lecture itself. I'm hoping to feel the same for the rest of the advanced courses.

So glad I finally took the plunge; a great introduction to coding. I learnt so much in a short space of time. Mattβs a great teacher, and the SheCodes support team are very responsive. Bite-sized video tutorials and challenges were easy to fit in/around life. Looking forward to doing another course.
Truly for busy professionals, video tutorials and post learning challenges were a great way to learn concepts in coding. Was able to create something for the final project that can be used towards my job.

I really enjoyed the course and I think I learned a lot of new things to get a head start into working as a front-end developer. It gives a good overview of basic functions of HTML, CSS and Java Script and I loved that the videos were short, so if you don't have a lot of time, you can do the lessons in little snipets. Perfect for people that try to do the course next to working or being a parent.
