I love how the course was divided into small video's and you have to practise what you learned straight after. It makes it very easy to learn and it's very interactive.

I felt the course was well thought out. There was a good balance between making sure the basics are well understood without making it too repetitive for those with experience in other programming languages. I like to look at the summary of the project first, build it and then watch the step by step videos. I find I learn better that way, and the format of this course allows us to do that if we want.

React was tough at first, but with a little patience (and revisiting the videos a few times), I got to enjoy it quite a bit!

SheCodes Basic is a fantastic workshop for women to learn basic coding skills, with an opportunity to add more courses in advanced coding to prepare for professional employment or for personal use in creative website development. It is backed by an extensive coding team and lots of peripheral pages for color styles, uploads, videos, and many outlined examples with helpful information. I highly recommend SheCodes for women who want to learn computer coding.

The Responsive workshop was really fun. It was great to implement almost everything I've learned so far and I'm really happy with the result. The videos were really easy to follow and Matt is an inspiring teacher. 10/10 would recommend!

This section has given me in depth a better understanding of JavaScript. Which I feared I was never going to get the hang of it. I was able to troubleshoot most bugs I was encountering based on the content of the videos but also help from the team. I will say this project provides a big example of powerful functionality. Furthermore, I can say I feel more confident in moving forward with my coding journey thanks to Matt and the team.

I didn't know anything about coding and the world of websites, html, css, and java script, and I had only heard that they are used in website design. After completing the basic shecode course, the concepts have completely settled in my mind and I enjoyed learning them a lot - it was a comprehensive course. Both in terms of questions and slack groups and Mr. mac's videos and the whole shecoded platform. In the end of each week project section and its timing and The challenges helped me a lot in understanding and learning and it is a world away from watching videos on YouTube!

I really enjoyed learning about React! I like to re-watch and reference the videos from time to time too which is very helpful!

I had a great time working on this course. I initially switched to React but needed to come back to complete it. The saying "practice makes perfect" holds true for coding. After taking a short break, I could jump back into the course without feeling lost. I must admit that the videos and support provided are excellent.

I have always loved the SheCodes courses and I will never provide less than a 3 because this might be the only site that provides a lesson and homework and that works best for my learning style but I wasn't super impressed with this course. The final project was fully provided. I looked at multiple students solutions available through slack and besides a few extra comments, it was exactly like the answer provided in the video. While I might have understood the content more after watching each video, there wasn't room for figuring it out on our own. There are also mistakes throughout the course and notes that aren't relevant to that particular content. I feel like this was thrown together because people had been asking for a python course but you can tell from previous courses and certain references to material in this course that Matt is super knowledgeable in Java and also lacks in his python skills.

What a great course! I must admit, Python Advanced was more difficult than I was expecting, but the structure and freedom of the lesson plans allow you to go back, re-watch the videos and practice your coding until it sinks in. Big thanks to Matt and the SheCodes team as ever!

Thank you so much for this excellent introduction to React. I found this course challenging but very rewarding, and I would definitely recommend it to others. Using a different API (SheCodes Weather API) from the one shown in the videos made the learning curve steeper, but I appreciate that because we had to think for ourselves - like we will in the real world. I decided not to follow Matt's coding/file structure on the videos exactly, implementing my own ideas and trying to find solutions by myself. This meant I felt blocked a few times, but the support available on Slack is incredible. Thank you!

The workshop is very useful. The videos are shot, but informative. You can quickly have the whole picture of the process for creating a landing page.

The Plus workshop what a well though out program. I felt my skills growing from lesson to lessons. The weather forecast is a fantastic project to work on. This 3-week course is a great introduction to those who are interested in not only pursuing a career in tech, but also just learning/touching up on basic coding. Matt's learning modules and videos are simple and easy to understand. Although there are deadlines, it feels that you can go at your own pace with each week's lessons. Would highly recommend!

This workshop was a great in teaching the fundamentals of Vanilla JS and APIs. I enjoyed making the weather app. It would be nice to get another project that we can create without the help of the video instructions in order to apply the knowledge and learn through further practice.

SheCodes Plus has been an amazing experience. I enjoyed each of the lesson videos. Learning advanced HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API Integration was challenging and insightful. Although I paused my learning for personal reasons, returning to the program felt seamless. I rewatched videos from previous modules and quickly got back on track. I highly recommend SheCodes Basics for complete beginners to experience the world of coding. Each video is short, easy to follow, and you will learn step by step. Even though I knew these were very basic, I still reveled in the fact that I could create something on my own.

I've just completed SheCodes Python Basics - and I am so glad I decided to learn with SheCodes. Matt is great, he explains everything clearly, introduces concepts well without using too much tech speak. The course is easy to follow - you can do it as quickly or as slowly as you like - but having a structure, the email reminders and the slack groups make you feel more accountable than your average lesson on Coursera or Udemy. I really liked that the lesson videos are short - anywhere between 5 - 15 mins and then you practice the skills after. This helped me learn quickly and build my confidence so I could play around to see what else I could do. I'm looking forward to completing Python Advanced next!

I really loved the Python course. Matt explains it simply and concisely. The projects were fun and kept me engaged. I enjoyed learning React. I took a small break due to work, which I believed would make it difficult to return to where I had left. I can genuinely say I jumped right back in without missing a beat. The video lessons make it easy to return from the break and not feel completely lost. The Slack channel came in handy when I ran into an error. Overall, this was a great course, and I liked it.

The video-material was good as always, but personally it was really difficult for me. I would still recommend it, if you really enjoy some challenges!

I found the videos clear and easy to follow. I felt the design of the lessons was great for teaching you each piece, but also starting over to really solidify how all the pieces fit together. If you get stuck or are just looking to clarify anything, asking a question in Slack is easy and the responses are timely. The Weather App project was fun and depending on your comfort level, you are given the choice to simply show the current weather or make it more complex by also showing the forecast.

I am thrilled to have completed SheCodes Basic! It has not only enhanced my understanding of the coding/website design but also equipped me with practical skills I can apply in real-life situations. I really enjoyed watching the videos and coding with Matt, he made it very easy for me. I also appreciate all the people who helped me. I feel way more confident in my skills now and can't wait to put what I learned into action. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and skills!

SheCodes has been very helpful in improving my knowledge in HTML and CSS. I am proud to say that this program has really improved my coding skills and it was exciting to do, to top it all off. I will say i did not go through all the lessons because I could understand what I had to do in just watching a few videos. I highly recommend SheCodes to young girls who want to pursue IT but do not have the funds to go to University or College. SheCodes has our back Girls!

Even though I could somewhat interpret basic code before, this course gave me a much deeper understanding of the ins and outs of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Inspecting an HTML page feels now much more approachable and clearer because I understand how everything works together. I really enjoyed playing around with the code, especially in the final project, where I had the freedom to create a page from scratch—it was both fun and rewarding! The engaging videos, interactive challenges, and detailed solutions made learning a breeze. I’m excited to keep building my skills and take the next step in my coding journey!

She Codes Responsive was very useful and interesting. There is always help available and the videos are easy to follow/understand.

It was good for beginners but there are things that are shown during the lesson videos, that are not explained where they come from. If they are discussed on advanced topics, they should not be shown because they create a little confusion. Also, I would recomend another type/form of help, either than slack. Threads can get a little bit chaotic.

The SheCodes plus addon course was really fun and it was easy to follow along with Matt in the videos. End product was quite impressing. 😀 Looking forward to next workshop.

I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the Delac Foundation via the KuñaTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops ❤️😊

Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.

I'm still amazed that I've come so far in coding. It might not be much to some people but to me it's a big deal. I can say "I'm a Coder" now 😊. Something that seemed so scary initially, but now it's so exciting and fun to do. Please don't get me wrong there definitely were challenges along the way but the more you understand the easier it gets. I kept going back to certain lessons/videos to understand better, it was worth it in the end. I'm really excited to learn more and looking forward to the next workshops which are the SheCodes Plus and SheCodes Plus Add-On.

I loved the new SheCodes Python course! I liked the pacing, the explanatory videos and also the challenges. Furthermore, the Slack community with all the great ladies is really supportive. I am looking forward to the Advanced Python course!

The Shecodes workshop courses are amazing and well-detailed, and the videos are straightforward to understand. I want to thank SheCodes for this opportunity. This is a milestone in kicking off a great career as a web developer. Thank you, Shecodes and her entire team.

In fact, I really enjoyed these 3 weeks. I could learn a lot and find a way to start coding. The video lessons are so clear and well explained. I really appreciated myself on completing the final project and was like😲! I could design a page!

It was quite an exciting journey for me. I watched myself move from illiterate, as far as coding is concerned,to being enlightened. The videos are so straight forward and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone any day.

At first I struggled with getting started with SheCodes. After re-watching some instruction video's I got the hang of it and gradually started enjoying coding. Each time a code would be successful and would translate onto the web page I would get a giddy feeling and try to create a better and more sophisticated code. I definitely recommend the SheCodes course, even if you are just curious. It is a great way to stimulate learning and broaden your skills!
