"It always seems impossible until it's done". I never thought I'd enjoy coding this much! The instructor is amazing, making learning enjoyable. This 3-week course is a great introduction to those who are interested in not only pursuing a career in tech, but also just learning/touching up on basic coding. Matt's learning modules and videos are simple and easy to understand. Although there are deadlines, it feels that you can go at your own pace with each week's lessons. Would highly recommend!
This workshop was a great in teaching the fundamentals of Vanilla JS and APIs. I enjoyed making the weather app. It would be nice to get another project that we can create without the help of the video instructions in order to apply the knowledge and learn through further practice.
I enjoyed learning with SheCodes. I liked having the detailed videos, short exercises and a final project to apply everything that was covered in the course. I want to keep going! π

SheCodes Plus has been an amazing experience. I enjoyed each of the lesson videos. Learning advanced HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API Integration was challenging and insightful. Although I paused my learning for personal reasons, returning to the program felt seamless. I rewatched videos from previous modules and quickly got back on track. Learning on SheCodes is both fun and challenging, and I would gladly do it all over again.
SheCodes Basics was just what I needed for a coding introduction. I love how each lesson comes with a video tutorial, and everything is explained so nicely. I also really appreciate the online community through Slack!

With SheCodes Plus, I had a lot going on in my private life that I didn't get to commit to the deadlines. But I am grateful for the extensions that I was granted. I highly recommend SheCodes Basics for complete beginners to experience the world of coding. Each video is short, easy to follow, and you will learn step by step. Even though I knew these were very basic, I still reveled in the fact that I could create something on my own.

I've just completed SheCodes Python Basics - and I am so glad I decided to learn with SheCodes. Matt is great, he explains everything clearly, introduces concepts well without using too much tech speak. The course is easy to follow - you can do it as quickly or as slowly as you like - but having a structure, the email reminders and the slack groups make you feel more accountable than your average lesson on Coursera or Udemy. I really liked that the lesson videos are short - anywhere between 5 - 15 mins and then you practice the skills after. This helped me learn quickly and build my confidence so I could play around to see what else I could do. I'm looking forward to completing Python Advanced next!
I really loved the Python course. Matt explains it simply and concisely. The projects were fun and kept me engaged. I was able to understand some things I'd never understood before by watching videos, which made me very happy. Now I feel confident using Python, and Iβm excited to keep growing my skills π€π€π€!

I enjoyed learning React. I took a small break due to work, which I believed would make it difficult to return to where I had left. I can genuinely say I jumped right back in without missing a beat. The video lessons make it easy to return from the break and not feel completely lost. The Slack channel came in handy when I ran into an error. Overall, this was a great course, and I liked it.
The video-material was good as always, but personally it was really difficult for me. I would still recommend it, if you really enjoy some challenges!
I found the videos clear and easy to follow. I felt the design of the lessons was great for teaching you each piece, but also starting over to really solidify how all the pieces fit together. If you get stuck or are just looking to clarify anything, asking a question in Slack is easy and the responses are timely. The Weather App project was fun and depending on your comfort level, you are given the choice to simply show the current weather or make it more complex by also showing the forecast.
I am thrilled to have completed SheCodes Basic! It has not only enhanced my understanding of the coding/website design but also equipped me with practical skills I can apply in real-life situations. I really enjoyed watching the videos and coding with Matt, he made it very easy for me. I also appreciate all the people who helped me. SheCodes has been very helpful in improving my knowledge in HTML and CSS. I am proud to say that this program has really improved my coding skills and it was exciting to do, to top it all off. I will say i did not go through all the lessons because I could understand what I had to do in just watching a few videos. I highly recommend SheCodes to young girls who want to pursue IT but do not have the funds to go to University or College. SheCodes has our back Girls!
Even though I could somewhat interpret basic code before, this course gave me a much deeper understanding of the ins and outs of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Inspecting an HTML page feels now much more approachable and clearer because I understand how everything works together. I really enjoyed playing around with the code, especially in the final project, where I had the freedom to create a page from scratchβit was both fun and rewarding! The engaging videos, interactive challenges, and detailed solutions made learning a breeze. Iβm excited to keep building my skills and take the next step in my coding journey!
She Codes Responsive was very useful and interesting. There is always help available and the videos are easy to follow/understand.
It was good for beginners but there are things that are shown during the lesson videos, that are not explained where they come from. If they are discussed on advanced topics, they should not be shown because they create a little confusion. Also, I would recomend another type/form of help, either than slack. Threads can get a little bit chaotic.
The SheCodes plus addon course was really fun and it was easy to follow along with Matt in the videos. End product was quite impressing. π Looking forward to next workshop.
I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the Delac Foundation via the KuΓ±aTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops β€οΈπ
Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.
I'm still amazed that I've come so far in coding. It might not be much to some people but to me it's a big deal. I can say "I'm a Coder" now π. Something that seemed so scary initially, but now it's so exciting and fun to do. Please don't get me wrong there definitely were challenges along the way but the more you understand the easier it gets. I kept going back to certain lessons/videos to understand better, it was worth it in the end. I'm really excited to learn more and looking forward to the next workshops which are the SheCodes Plus and SheCodes Plus Add-On.
I loved the new SheCodes Python course! I liked the pacing, the explanatory videos and also the challenges. Furthermore, the Slack community with all the great ladies is really supportive. I am looking forward to the Advanced Python course!

At first I struggled with getting started with SheCodes. After re-watching some instruction video's I got the hang of it and gradually started enjoying coding. Each time a code would be successful and would translate onto the web page I would get a giddy feeling and try to create a better and more sophisticated code. I definitely recommend the SheCodes course, even if you are just curious. It is a great way to stimulate learning and broaden your skills!

This was the perfect boost to my coding skills! I built a single-page responsive website from scratch, learning how to make my designs look great on any device. Loving it! Python was an eye opener, what a wonderful program. Lessons were clear, sometimes it went really fast....but the advantage of online learning with videos following a teacher explaining the live coding really helps. You can pause and watch them again.
For me at times the course was somehow confusing as certain things that were asked in challenges were not tackled in video's to explain. However, I enjoyed mostly the HTML classes as I need this for my job.

I really enjoyed the SheCodes Plus workshop. I found the sections focusing on CSS and HTML really helpful, and the sections on Javascript and APIs really well-explained. Whilst the final project at the end of week 8 was challenging, I was able to work through the steps alongside the video, and feel happy with the final result.
The past eight weeks have been quite challenging, but I am grateful that I was able to revisit my instructional videos and follow the step-by-step guidance, which enabled me to successfully complete my final project. I have gained significant knowledge throughout this journey and am eager to continue learning.
I like how it lets me focus on problem-solving with the tools we've been shown (and some we've been taught to find on our own) instead of rote memorization. I enjoy the videos, but I'm always most excited to get my hands on the challenges and homework.
SheCodes Plus was wonderful. It builds a lot on the basic knowledge that I have gained in Basics and Basics Plus workshops. This Workshop was challenging but also very rewarding and I appreciate how the workshop teaches you to troubleshoot your issues with the build, as well as being creative in finding the solutions through the research online ( both vital when this knowledge will be applied in real life projects). Everything finally comes together in the Plus workshop - how is it that pages are created and how is it that they are hosted and updated. Coming from the UX world this opens my understanding about development so much. Don't hesitate to watch the videos that you find challenging at 0.75 speed, for me I had to do so for JS elements and i am glad that this feature is enabled for the videos! I am excited about Plus Add-on that is coming up next!
Learning React JS was really challenging but I managed to push through regardless. I learned quite a lot and I would like to thank Matt for his detailed video lessons and explanations. Getting to learn the difference between writing vanilla JS code and React JS was really amazing more that React JS is more strict. At the end of it all I am happy to have learned some skills with React JS like using hooks and state management, conditional rendering, components, installing NodeJS and other external components, how to call API's and build them. I am very excited to continue practicing and perfecting my skills and learning more as I continue my web development journey.

I have been trying to learn programming for the past year. I tried watching YouTube videos and signed up for bootcamps, but I found it very difficult to grasp the content, especially understanding the basics of coding. It was overwhelming at first, until I joined SheCodes. Matt has been a lifesaver! SheCodes unpacked HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in such a clear way that I fell in love with coding. Ever since I got into SheCodes coding has been easy to understand and the videos are short and simple very beginner friendly. I look forward to seeing what's to come.
While I did learn a tonne in this course, the teaching style didn't totally resonate for me. I found a lot of the videos too brief and the explanations and visuals slightly erratic and redundant so I always had to use alternative sources to get explanations for the why behind things in order to understand what I was doing. I understand the thought process behind having us search for answers for some things beyond what was taught but I found there was quite a bit of 'do this as I do', but without the sufficient reasoning behind it, which personally my brain has a hard time with! But I did benefit a lot from all of the information provided and from the course structure with all the challenges and homework. The deadlines especially kept me on track! If I was just trying to learn coding on my own from online resources I would not have accomplished this much this fast!

When I started, I had little knowledge about coding, however, it is something I found interesting regarding the fact that I aspire to one day become a UX designer. Matt truly made the course easy to understand, now I am able to understand when I am watching videos on You tube. I also enjoyed the fact that we were given small challenges to do after every topic, which made the course work fun to learn. The entire team of She Codes is exceptional in what they do, and I would highly recommend this coding academy to any female who wants to learn about coding.

Instruction videos are great to follow. Good analogies used, to help understand concepts, eg. variables being a box that you can assign to put different stuff in.

Having done some Python previously, the workshop was a decent way to expand on my knowledge in a bit more of a structured way. I DIYed the final project before watching the videos and found it a fun challenge.

Repetition is the KEY!! I'm very happy with this workshop I love how the exercise makes you repeat the knowledge acquired so it sticks. Now I can code be myself without watching the video the HTML and CSS piece. Still away to go on js but is a matter of practice that this course makes you to do it. I'm learning do much!
When I started the foundation, I knew nothing about coding and became demotivated. I had given up for a couple of months and decided to try again, this time taking proper notes and having an open mind to learn. With this approach, this has been the best time to learn and understand the material. I am in a better space to testify to my knowledge and I am able to apply it without constantly going back to the learning videos and revising
