I enjoyed this course tremendously! There are many free courses out there to learn the same material, but I felt it was worth it to pay to get my questions answered quickly and join a program with a well-thought out structure that holds you accountable. I think most people don't retain much from watching videos or doing short coding exercises - you learn from doing a complete project that means something to you, with a deadline! SheCodes delivers on this.
The SheCodes Basics course is a great way to familiarize yourself with the basics of coding. Largely self-paced, the videos are easy to understand and the homeworks and final project keep you on target. For anyone looking to foray into the world of coding, this is a fun start.
SheCodes has been the foundation foe my coding education and I could not be more satisfied! The videos and documentation are very comprehensive and, combined with the help I have gotten on the SheCodes Slack, I have developed an app I can be proud of showing prospective employers. I am a social worker for disabled people. I am following this course to expand my knowledge and let's see what it will bring me in the future. What I really like about the SheCodes course is how the program is designed. It are short videos where you learn new skills and afterward, there is a challenge which are really doable and if you have any questions you can ask the team or other students and you will have a really quick and helpfull respond.

I enrolled in the SheCodes Basics. I enjoyed the course. The videos are easy to understand and after taking the course I do have a better understanding of specific concepts.
Very easy to understand and follow along! I have a limited background in programming but with Matt's help, was able to learn the basics of web design. He's a great instructor and besides his videos, he also offers resources for you to use on your own projects. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to get started in web design but has no idea where to start. All the students have access to a Slack as well where we can ask questions and receive help from the SheCodes staff or even each other. Learning something new doesn't feel so intimidating knowing that other students might be running into the same problems as you are. I just finished SheCodes Basics and can't wait to get started on SheCodes Plus!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this introduction to coding! The format of Matt's lessons suit me perfectly as someone who really struggles to stay motivated while studying. The short videos with the hands on challenges to cement what you have just learnt is brilliant. Can't wait to start the next workshop 😁
This course was great at introducing the basic concepts of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The lesson videos were short, interactive and easy to follow. The weekly assignments was very interesting and it built creativity through coding. The flexibility of the course was also great!
3 months ago I did not know anything about coding and now I finished my first project and it feels great to learn and achieve something new! Compared to Basics, Plus workshop was of course bit more challenging but I went back to the videos and followed Matt and I could make everything work in the end. I can't wait to continue with the React workshop!

The workshop was nice and easy to follow. You can watch the videos on your own time and finish the homework before the deadline. I also love the fact that we can reference back to the videos to remind us how to do certain codes.

In my first project I decided to create a website for small business and so take a first step to learn how to create a real business website in the future. I found the progressive lesson format very accessible and user friendly. Mat breaks down the languages into bite-sized easy to understand videos and challenges.
The Responsive course has been my favourite SheCodes course so far! The Portfolio project was so helpful in pulling everything I had learned together and gave me the tools to go back and make my previous projects responsive too. The videos are clear and informative and the community was always helpful if I ever got stuck.
I have struggled with learning code for a while now. I came to learn about SheCodes and decided to give it a try. My love for technology and what it brings forth has been drive. The courses at SheCodes are sectioned into small and very clear videos and after every class we have a challenge giving one a chance to put into practice what they learnt. That has been really fun, quenching my thirst for learning coding and at the same time keeping me curious about what the next lesson has to bring forth. My coding skills have really improved and i believe this is the begin of something great and I am happy and grateful to SheCodes.
I am really really enjoying learning with SheCodes. The videos make it easy to follow along, with a written source code. On top of that, whenever I struggled, they were so quick to answer my questions. Even though this is entirely online, I never felt like I was doing this on my own!

This program was so fun! I had no clue about coding and especially not if it was something one could enjoy, however, after this course I love it! It was so easy to learn with the step-by-step videos, and when there was something I didn't understand, I got on Slack and got help almost immediately. Can't wait to start the next course!

This was such a great learning experience for someone with no coding experience. It was challenging at times, but the structure of the classes, the informational videos, slack support, and various resources made it all come together. I really enjoyed SheCodes! The course is divided into small pieces which makes learning much easier. The staff was helpful. Homeworks are well explained. I really liked that each homework was explained later on by Matt in the video. I think those videos taught me the most! :)
I have enjoyed learning from the videos. For me it's hard to read about this material and then apply it without someone explaining it to me. I'm so glad I took a chance and signed up!
Matt explained each topic in a concise way. The videos are short but I don't feel like there's anything missing honestly! I'd recommend the course to anyone wanting to learn the basics of html, css and javascript and I'll definetly come back for the next course as well. I absolutely loved the little homeworks after each video and I thoroughly enjoyed the project in the end as well.

What a great course! I learned so much information throughout these videos. I am new to coding and I feel as if Matt was very explicit on what needed to be done and WHY it works/why you do it a specific way. The team on slack also needs a shoutout because if you're stuck or have a question, they respond and help you in a timely manner.
This course is so easy to follow that you can start and stop without worrying about messing up your progress. The lessons are broken down into very digestible pieces of information and you can move through them very quickly. I love the function to speed up the videos for when I just need to review one part. I would recommend this course to anyone even remotely interested in coding!
Speaking from a graphic designer point of view: This was a great refresher course from the "little" coding I learned from uni. Although Javascript was new for me, it was easier to grasp with Matt's “learn”ing videos, followed by coding challenges, and weekly projects to practise as you are learning. Just when you think you won’t be able to wrap your head around it. It all comes together in the end. For graphic designers, it’s great to understand how your design concepts can be translated and built into coding. I look forward to the next workshop!
Although React was quite difficult to learn, the videos, challenges and guidance made it possible. I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to create two different projects.
SheCodes Plus was fun since we could interact with APIs and used what we learned on Basics to create a functional project. Matt does a great job in his videos of making things clear and easy to understand. I'm looking forward to the next classes to learn more advanced Web Development and take my understanding to a whole new level!
Being part of this workshop has been awesome, I enjoy the fact that you could learn at your own time and understand each one of the lessons thanks to the clarity of the videos and examples given by Matt I highly recommend it.

The workshop was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be "head-scratching" and "hair-pulling" kind of struggle. But I am glad that Matt's videos were straightforward. Each video was not too long and its packed with information that are easy to understand. I am glad I chose SheCodes for my introduction to coding. ☺️
SheCodes made what seemed to be so complex to me, quite the opposite thanks to Matts amazing detailed videos, and a great team from slack that helped with any questions throughout the course. The videos clearly demonstrated all the elements that go into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and even paced students to figure out some details on their own. This course is very motivating and I can't wait to learn more!
This course really let me put the HTML and CSS skills I've developed to the test! I found the JavaScript parts challenging but incredibly satisfying to get right. The bite-size videos and challenges along the way helped a lot to work out the fundamentals, while the project that we worked on along the way helped me solidify the learnings.
This is now my third course through SheCodes that I have finished. I have absolutely fallen in love with coding! Thank you so much to Matt and the whole SheCodes team! The videos, explanations and challenges are all great. With every lesson, I feel as though I am getting a bit more competent and figuring out more of my own bugs. Even though some parts are challenging, someone from the team is always ready to help on Slack. I cannot even believe I built my own website! I am so proud to show it off to my family and friends and one day, potential employers. Next up, learning React!
It was really great learning the basic of coding and it was really interactive as we get to make our own HTML. I really enjoyed watching the videos and making all the small homeworks.
SheCodes basic was a great intro to the coding world! Matt's quick how-to videos have just the right amount of information followed by challenges that allow you to practice. I also liked that Matt leaves room for you to figure things out for yourself. You will have to think outside the box, use Google, to assist in figuring out the challenges and homework. I'm proud of my final project and impressed with the skills that I attained in such a short amount of time.
What an eye-opening learning experience! I was never interested in coding because I was scared I would never understand it, but SheCodes Basics changed my mind, and now I'm hooked. The workshop was carefully structured, and the videos weren't too long or overwhelming, which is a plus for a beginner. Also, the lesson challenges were fun and excellent hands-on practice to retain the coding you learned. My word of advice for future students - don't feel defeated if your code is imperfect as there is no one-size-fits-all 🙂. I would highly recommend this workshop if you want to learn from an excellent coding instructor and are interested in changing career paths or expanding your skillset. SheCodes Basics gave me the perfect foundation to explore the world of coding. The videos are the perfect length and easy to follow along with.
The videos break everything down super simple which makes learning easy. They're also broken down into small clips and challenges which really helps for people with short attention spans or constant distractions. I really loved this class and all the resources that comes with it such as Slack, Color Palettes, and more. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in learning coding.
I registered for the SheCodes Basics workshop just to get an understanding of front-end development. The course was super interesting! The way it's being taught throughout 3 weeks makes it very easy to keep up even if you have a full time job. The fact that for each section there are videos not only to teach you but also to show what the challenge is and to give a thorough explanation of the solution is extremely helpful! I've been intrigued by coding for a while and SheCodes Basics was perfect for me to finally try it out. SheCodes Basics has great information for beginners and I didn't find it overwhelming. I learnt a lot, and the course is very challenging. I do feel that some more complex areas were glossed over a bit. Although these concepts were shown/explained in the main project videos, I think it would have benefitted with more 'lessons' to demonstrate these methods more clearly so that I could get a bettter grasp of them, instead jumping straight into the projects so soon. I will definitely need to re-visit the videos again.
I can recommend this course for motivated beginners! The videos are great and the regular exercises enable you to really learn the material.
I really enjoyed this program. The videos are well-detailed and helpful; during the difficult moments when my code breaks up/won't run, going back to calmly re-watch the videos, repeatedly if necessary, always helped me to identify my mistakes. I truly appreciate Matt and his team. They have done a very good work here.
I really liked having videos and challenges, not just plain text that needs to be followed precisely.
This has been by far the best virtual class I have taken. The structure of the classes, homework, slack channels etc. are really amazing. The only thing I would change about it is a few of the videos. I found only a small number of the videos a bit confusing and I would go back a few times to watch them again and again ... I thought they could be better edited and explained at times.
The SheCodes Basics workshop has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. The highly informative videos have taught me the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript and the challenges have allowed me to put my new knowledge to the test. It's a really great course. The explanations are very clear and the videos help a lot to see how everything works. Even though it's challenging, I find the practical side of the course a great addition. If you don't practice and see for yourself how everything works, you don't learn enough.

Is it possible to work full-time and do a SheCodes course? Yes, but you have to put in the extra work and you have to code every week, at least every second day to stay inside the loop. This is my second SheCodes course and I really enjoy learning with Matt’s videos. Things start to get a little more complicated now, but I am excited about what’s coming next and how everything I’ve learned is intertwining. Coding is creative and code is poetry.
SheCodes is the perfect course to learn how to code! the videos are well explained and you can study whenever you want! the main thing that makes SheCodes unique and special is the community that you have when you face a problem and the project oriented lessons!
SheCodes basic is a great way to learn what coding is. Some tasks almost drove me crazy, but Matt's repetition that coding is fun kept me going. Some tasks include elements which were not talked about in the videos. This was a great way to use learned information. I am thankful to Matt and the Team for this course!
Matt's instructional videos were short, but concise and easy to follow. I loved that there is a community to ask for help and that after you submit and assignment there is a video with the solution for you to check your work.
After finishing SheCodes Basics I was extremely excited to continue my coding journey. My favorite part about coding is being able to be creative and literally start from scratch and create anything you want! I learned so much during these past 8 weeks and it has only driven me to continue my coding journey. I've learned a lot about myself as well. At times my patience was really tested and I got frustrated at times but I learned if I continued trying, watched the videos again, and/or asked for help on Slack I was able to figure out a solution. I'm so happy with how my Weather App came out and I'm looking forward to the next step!
The course was practical and easy to follow, explanations were clear. I also like how it was broken into short videos so I can do them at a time convenient and I wasn't sitting through long sessions.
I've always felt like a have a thing for coding but never actually had the courage or time to explore this passion, until I found SheCodes! The lessons are brief, so neatly organized, logically flowing from one concept to the next. Matthieu's explanatory videos are very clear and make it easy to learn this new language. The challenges at the end of each lesson are also really fun! I think I'll be continuing this journey with more advanced courses with SheCodes.

I started learning to code a few months ago and I can not believe how much I have learned in just a few weeks! The topics in the videos are perfectly broken down, Matt is a great teacher and makes everything so understandable, and the Slack community is a great help. It is a lot of hard work, and I have both cursed and cried during the past 8 weeks. But the feeling when everything finally works is so rewarding and makes it all worth it! I can't wait to start the React workshop and see where all this takes me!

I tried a lot of self paced online training and none of them can compete with the level of SheCodes! The videos/exercices are so well made and playful. In only 3 weeks I can say that I understand how coding works whilst working a full time job! The workshop was great. I had a small amount of coding knowledge going into it, but definitely learned way more than I knew and have better clarity on what to focus on next! The videos had plenty of tips and tricks to help guide you along the way, and if I got stuck, a team member or fellow student was quick to answer and take a look at my code for where I was making a mistake! I was very appreciative of this feature as many websites do not have this! Overall, I would recommend! I now look at webpages in a completely new light!

Just a few short weeks ago, the thought of having to code an entire webpage seemed incredibly daunting. Thanks to Matt and the SheCodes team, I see now that it is completely possible! Wow, I can't believe how quickly those 8 weeks went by! After finishing the SheCodes Basics Workshop last December I was really excited to start this new project and learn more about coding and Javascript. Not gonna lie, at times it was quite difficult to understand and I struggled to follow. But this is what I really enjoy about this course and the concept: you can do everything at your own pace - if you don't understand it you can just re-watch all the videos, you can do it step by step and you can ask for help. I am really proud of what I have learned already in this short time and I am so excited to continue this journey :)
