Highly recommended! Matt is a great teacher, friendly, professional and caring. In the course you learn the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as some programming fundamentals. He starts from scratch, so no experience needed, but be ready to have loads of new info to understand!
The workshop was really well structured and gave me a first look into HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Matt explains very well and the hands-on exercises are close to his examples, but require a bit of adaptation, which is great to not only reproduce, but also think by yourself. I would highly recommend this course for coding beginners.
Taking part in SheCodes was one of my best decisions in the last months and a very good beginning of 2020! It was my first step into the coding world and now I'm sure that I want more :) I totally recommend this course!!!

My feedback is very positive. As a person who never coded before, and that only started learning at the SheCodes Workshop, I found it was easy to keep up with the course schedule for each week (even working on a full time consulting job during the week). The way the course is structured, with classes divided in small videos, each with a corresponding challenge to help you put in practice what you have just learned, makes it easier to learn the concepts and also to keep you motivated to work on your project and reach the end result. ย I never thought I could build my own weather app, and I made it! I really recommend this course if you have the aim to develop your HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills, and look also for opportunities to learn React.
I think the course is well structured along it's duration and it was easy to keep up with. I HIGHLY recommend for those who want to learn.

It was a great restart for me! As an engineer I took some coding courses at the university, but the way they were taught was neither attractive nor practical. SheCodes has a practical approach that allows us to test everything we learn and ask questions whenever we need to! I recommend this WS to all girls who feel that web development is something they would like to try, as it is a tool that requires only a computer and the internet. With this kind of skill we can complement something we do on a day-to-day basis with something we can capitalize on remotely.

At first, I was nervous about trying something that I had no knowledge about but I ended loving it. The way the classes are taught is amazing because all the challenges allow us to follow everything so we don't get lost. Besides, all the help from the other girls and the volunteers contribute to our success in this workshop. In the end, it was a great experience, something that I recommend to everyone.

A few years ago, speaking English was a skill valued in the market. Currently, it is the minimum required. I believe we are seeing the same phenomenon with "programming", specially for those working in the field of engineering and technology. Considering that a gap in my academical education, I decided to apply to "SheCodes" workshop. Of course I don't feel a programmer after the workshop but I feel that I have the tools to start learning by myself! I was very excited to do the workshop. I knew it would be a game changer for me, I just didn't know it would be so much. I recommend it to anyone, regardless of whether or not they want to have programming as a profession. Today, it is a necessary skill and every day it will be more. SheCodes was a really good learning experience. Throughout the weekend we learnt the very basics of how to create a webpage and how to make it interactive with the user, by resorting to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Matt is a great teacher and it's really good to have someone who knows what's being used nowadays and what isn't; and can give you some guidance for your very first steps into the coding world. It's a very hands-on course, where you actually get to put in practice what you learn, instead of just getting your head full of theory. SheCodes Plus was great because I could develop what I initially started in SheCodes - Lisbon. The online platform was very well organized. The rewatchable Tuesday classes, the challenges videos + the exercises sequences helped me a lot to prepare myself to do the weekly homework. Never in my life I thought I could actually be capable of building a proper app, with real time information. This workshop sometimes was "sweat, blood and tears" but when I got things done and working it was a huge feeling of accomplishment! I strongly recommend this to all women who want to have a real understanding of what really is Front-End Development and its frameworks.
