When I first heard about this workshop, I wasn't sure that I would be able to do it, but it proved that I could not only do it, but I also had a ton of fun completing all the workshops!
As a beginner, it took me more than 1 hour/day but it was an exciting learning experience.
Perfect for beginners, really enjoyed the workshops.
I have always wanted to learn more about coding, but never would have thought that I would be doing a course with a 2 month old baby. It is broken down into good size lessons that meant I could aim to do a bit every day to stay on track. I am looking forward to learning more!

It's amazing to see how far I've progressed in such a short amount of time! I enjoyed these first 3 weeks as I got an introduction to 3 languages (HTML, Java, and CSS) which will help me understand and communicate with developers in a new project I am leading. The information is presented clearly. The instructors are ready to help and it made me want to learn more about coding.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Matt explains things in a very comprehensible way and shows you exactly what to do as he talks about it. The structure is wonderful because you actually learn instead of just following along. After being shown exactly how to work on the lesson's topic, it forces you to try the problems on your own before you can see the solution but you can still go back and rework it if you need with no sense of shame. I love that I can go at my own pace instead of one dictated by a live class. I am looking forward to the next workshop.
I am so glad that I found SheCodes! Before taking this workshop I knew nothing about coding! I never thought I would have this much fun learning how to code. When researching SheCodes and what technologies they covered in their workshops, React quickly piqued my interest. Seeing the real-world applications made it an easy decision to enroll. Matt and the SheCodes team provided a great, easy to follow step-by-step lesson plan and were always available and helpful, as well as a fun project as a way to learn these skills. I would definitely recommend enrolling in SheCodes React as a continuation of SheCodes Plus.
The workshop was very well structured with helpful step-by-step videos, available resources, tips, and a very interactive chat platform when help was needed. I have a much better understanding of how these codes are formatted and structured and can't wait to advance further in the future.

As a long time service industry professional, I was concerned about the future of my career during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of so many changes, I found myself wanting options. After seeing an ad online and reading testimonies from women who had no prior coding experience, I decided to enroll. I am beyond excited to share that I, too, was able to complete this course with zero prior coding knowledge. Matt is thorough, clear, and teaches at a comfortable pace. I plan to enroll in the advance course next and will be recommending SheCodes to everyone I know!

It had been a long time since I got so excited about something, taking the workshop really made me kind of take control of my life again. Learning, investigating and discovering new things, finding out that you too can do it and solving problems on your own are some of the most satisfying and powerfull things to do in the world, and SheCodes really helped me get there. I'll definetly continue learning how to code, absolutely loved it and this workshop opened that amazing door for me.
I really enjoyed the workshop. The lessons were easy to follow and understand. I loved that after each lesson we could put our knowledge straight into practice with the challenges. Because I work full-time with irregular hours i’m happy I found a course that I can finish at my own pace and watch the lessons from anywhere at any time.

It was a lot of fun these past three weeks and I highly recommend this workshop for women who are not sure where to start. The videos are fun and easily able to follow. I had zero experience coming into this workshop and I loved every minute of it. It was not overwhelming, the support system is amazing and because of it I was able to complete the assignments and enjoy making them along the way. 😃

SheCodes was very hands on. In the challenges and homework, the lesson videos gave enough insight to complete most of what was required but it also pushed me to find some solutions on my own either in the slack community or through google.

I enjoyed the beginner workshop because the format allowed me to go at my own pace. I could go back and watch the lessons as many times as I needed. Matt was great because he would teach a lesson, but not always show how to get the full solution. This forced me to find the answer, which helped me learn.
Through these past three weeks, I went from having zero knowledge or confidence in my coding skills, and now I am able to understand the basic structure of web development! It was really great to have a community of women to ask questions to and watch each of us learn a new skill.

Wow! What a wild ride. I signed up for the SheCodes workshop on a whim; I'd played around with HTML/CSS and was interested in learning a bit more. This course was the perfect tool. Matt did an excellent job of breaking up the information in "bite sized" pieces and explaining it in a way that was easy to follow/understand. The challenges after each lesson help the information "stick" and the Slack channel really helps you feel like you're part of a community. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone even remotely interested in the world of coding. I'm definitely considering doing more workshops!
The various challenges and homework assignments were set up in a good sequence. I found the videos very helpful to learn from. Overall, I feel like the intro course covered a lot in three weeks and did it without being overwhelming!
I started this course because I wanted to have a better understanding of the coding world. I have my own recruiting agency and I focus on tech roles. I now understand the coders day to day life and loved it. I think this workshop is great and I highly recommend it.

I had very minimal background in html from previous social media design, but I love how in-depth this class got. Everyone was super helpful and very patient whenever I had questions. I love that this class is semi-self paced, it allowed me to go back and review material.

I had tried other free beginner coding tools but I was not retaining the information as well. I decided to attempt this course to give myself a solid foundation in coding and I haven't regretted it. This course explains things clearly for complete novices like myself and it's exciting to see how fast you develop your skills over a short amount of time.
This workshop was great! Being a marketing professional, I was slightly familiar with simple coding and knew I wanted to learn more. This was a great way to get some experience with different coding languages and I'm so glad I took the chance to expand my knowledge.

I have thoroughly enjoyed learning how to code through the SheCodes workshop and found Matt's lessons and challenges extremely useful. I feel I have a new skill now that I can continue to develop and possibly pursue a career in. I have already recommended it to friends as you get a great understanding of the foundation and fundamentals of coding compared to other courses being offered. My only issue would be the amount of 5 hours a week mentioned when I took the initial free workshop was not realistic for me as a complete beginner going through each lesson and challenge and then solution required time to absorb all of the new information I was receiving. I would therefore advise anyone who is new to coding and wants to take this course and has other commitments such as full time work, commuting, family etc to be prepared to block out time everyday to go through lessons otherwise it could become overwhelming to complete over the weekend.

I was super intimidated at first, I am not a computer person, so I thought I would have to study super hard to be able to learn how to start coding but its so much simpler than I thought, and its actually kind of fun. I have so many ideas, things I want to create once I'm done with all the workshops and really know what I'm doing.

Having had not much contact with writing code in HTML, CSS & Javascript I found this course to be a good intro.
Before I started this workshop, coding had been some "magic land" for me I had just heard something about, but actually I hadn't known how it works or how to write a code. I've learned a lot of things and had so much fun during creating my own website and combining my creativity with this "magic". The classes were really easy to understand, I was surprised how step by step, day after a day, I understood and remembered more and I was able to do more. It was also an amazing feeling to create something and see that it worked on the website (like a button or Java script). I would recommend this workshop to everyone who wants to start their journey with coding.
I had a lot of fun learning something new and trying the different challenges in every lesson. Everything is very comprehensive and Mark gives little tips along the way which are definitely helpful. Really recommend it!

The SheCodes workshop was a great way for me to become familiarized with coding without a heavy time or monetary commitment. I was able to learn the basics which empowered me to feel confident to continue studying code. I enjoyed Matt's teaching style and felt armed with the right materials to create basic webpages.
I was looking for developing a new skill during lockdown when an ad for SheCodes popped up. The design was pretty cool and the video was interesting so I kept on watching. 30mins later I signed up for the Plus React workshop and have not looked back! The lessons are the perfect length with small challenges after so you are applying what you've just learned immediately. I definitely recommend this to total beginners, and people who are foreign to the world of coding. Matt was very clear and explained everything step by step in the videos, which was great. The challenges provided a good mechanism to practice the learning. I also love how I was able to fit this workshop around my schedule. One feedback I have is that the challenges could have been a bit harder and longer to really improve learning. But other than that, I really recommend this!

Before getting to know SheCodes, I had zero knowledge on coding and I have never imagined myself that I could broaden my level of understanding towards it. I was not sure whether online platform would be effective as this seemed to be a foreign language that I would not understand at all. My perception towards coding has drastically changed after taking a coding workshop on August 23rd, 2020, facilitated by Matt Delac. Matt is not only a professional full-stack engineer, but also a great teacher who explains what seemed to be complicated with a very simple and easy way. Full of hands on examples and simulations were easy to follow and I could immediately apply what I learned. Mr.Matt dissected knowledge into pieces and guided me to combine them like a puzzle. During the learning journeys of HTML, CSS, and Java Script, I noticed myself that I actually enjoyed the workshops and gained confidence towards coding. I wanted to express my personal gratitude for the effort and extra time Matt and SheCodes staffs have contributed. I am proud of myself as I could broaden my comfort zone towards coding in few weeks.
