SheCodes Basics was an interesting look into the world of coding for the first time. I really enjoyed the layout of simple bitesized lessons to learn each week! I have learnt more in 3 weeks and graduated from SheCodes gaining skills I know I will take forward into the future! Many thanks to Matt and the amazing Support team for helping with any coding problems!
Coding has always been such a 'scary' or rather, an intimidating thing for me. Something I wanted to get started with, but would think "I don't know if I'll be able to get it 😵💫.", but I DID! SheCodes Workshops are structured in a way where you're being guided, while at the same time, you're being empowered 💪🏼. Matt and the SheCodes team provide you with projects as you move through the lessons (lessons that are very well put together and easy to follow, btw), and not only provide you with a platform to connect with the team if and when you might run into a hiccup, but the option to interact with other SheCoders is available 👩🏻🤝👩🏽. The SheCodes 'Front-End Cheatsheets' were also helpful 👀.
I highly recommend it! I learned so much by following the steps in sequence on how to create a basic website. It was so much fun to watch and learn. Everything makes sense to me by watching Matt in the videos. I admit that I had some difficulty in grasping the programming concepts when I took a programming course many years ago. Now, I finally got it after watching and following Matt. And yet, I am surprised that I still remember it like yesterday.
Hi there, I'm Anna. I've been a fashion & lifestyle photographer for 10+ years and I decided to take the plunge for a more stable career path, one where I would be able to work even during confinement, during the chaos of 2020... well, basically, one where I would be able to work remotely. I was very scared because even though it's written all over the website that the course is for beginners, I thought I wouldn't learn it as I was supposed to. Big mistake: Matt is an amazing teacher and the SheCodes team is just brilliant and always there to answer your questions, being them silly or not. I just finished the Basics but I already paid for the full course, thanks to the discount opportunity for those who, like me, couldn't work in 2020. I can't thank you enough for showing me that coding can yes, be creative, and specially that you don't have to be good at math (yikes) in order to know how to do it. If you're wondering even a little bit about being a SheCodes student, this is your sign: go for it and never look back. :)

SheCodes was a wonderful experience as a beginner! I come from a background in Healthcare and have always thought of tech and coding as intimidating; however, the lessons per week were well executed. Matt was able to teach the concepts with good detail and there was a lot of resource available, along with support on Slack. I thoroughly enjoyed how the pace was scheduled per week but you could also go through them at your own pace. The combination of lessons with the small challenges, weekly homework, and the final project allowed you to test your knowledge and skills. You are also taught how to use the internet to look for solutions or more explanations to the different concepts in HTML, CSS and JS, which was good practice for real world application. Overall, my experience doing the Basic Workshop has given me a new confidence in my new skillset in HTML, CSS and JS. This experience has filled me with excitement and looking forward to more opportunities in programming. Thank you to Matt and the SheCodes team!
The SheCodes workshops are the perfect resource for front-end development. Matt is a fantastic teacher - he explains everything so clearly, making it accessible to everyone (for both complete beginners as well as more advanced coders). The course content was well-paced, practical, and enjoyable. I honestly couldn't recommend these courses highly enough.

After completing SheCodes Basics, I decided to upgrade to Plus. It hasn't been easy at times, but Matt is a very good teacher. I learned a lot and could always count on using Slack to ask questions and see what other students were doing. Overall, this was a fun experience and I can't wait to start the next workshop!
Learning how to build the weather app search engine was a 360° journey. At times I felt like the queen of coding, easily and quickly grasping Matt's teaching, other times I didn't know what to do with myself to make the code work! Nevertheless, the beautiful and unique quality of SheCodes is that you are never really on your own, help is always and quickly on the way, and other code goddesses are in your same situation ready to support you! I genuinely recommend SheCodes plus Bootcamp as it is a highly rewarding experience :) Code-on!
This workshop has led me to learn new things about how to intergrate real data in my outputs, and how to finally deploy my works on the web. It feels amazing to be able to produce something useful like a working weather app. The whole course was challenging for a beginner like me, but the lessons were broken down into simpler ways, and terms; it's just really matter of understanding it well, and practicing more.
I was nervous to start out as I always saw coding as such a daunting & complex skill, with many terms I'd never heard of! Matt & the SheCodes team made the whole learning experience so fun and interactive, with a huge sense of community & support. I've enjoyed this workshop so much and I will definitely be continuing on with the more advanced workshops in the future! Thank you all so much!
I've enjoyed every minute of this course. I can't believe a few months ago I literally knew nothing about coding and now I've built a fully functioning weather app. I'm so grateful to SheCodes and to Matt who have built such an inclusive and encouraging course.
I've had a great time learning React over the last few weeks on the Pro course! Rebuilding my weather app and creating a brand new dictionary app has been really interesting and fun. As always Matt is a fantastic teacher.

It's been an amazing experience to get to learn all the material Matt has provided. The biggest challenge was JavaScript. But even when it appears to be overwhelming, Matt does an amazing job breaking it down. I had plenty of material to reference. The video material was also not so dense. This meant I could easily refer back to them when I needed to review information. I absolutely loved this program!

I started this workshop 3 weeks ago and can't believe how many things Matt taught us up until now. He's an excellent teacher and knows what to expect from complete beginners. Matt explains the basics concepts in a easy way to understand. The practices have been challenging even though I know some concepts already.

Matt Delac is very good at explaining complex concepts, and I can't wait to advance further with the React-class. I got so excited on the first week that I started designing my own website and I'm happy to have finally coded it into what is going to be my presentation card to start showcasing my work. I loved doing the 3-week program! I had been contemplating a career change for a while but wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do or how I was going to go about it. When I tuned in for the free class with Matt, I was instantly hooked. I could try it, see if I liked it, and if I did I'd have the option to continue my learning. After completing the third week and finishing my project, I already want to learn more to get even better! I love SheCodes and would definitely recommend trying it out for anyone on the fence.
The easiest way to start learning coding, where Matt explains coding in such a way that's easy to understand but also easy to review as well. Highly recommended to try the basics course, if you're not sure about coding, you'll get a truly basic understanding of how coding works.

Within minutes of starting, I was picking up new skills that I never thought I'd be able to learn. Matt makes it feel simple. I've been struggling with feeling like I'd never be able to learn coding, and three weeks later I have a web page built. I can't wait to learn more in the next workshop.
I am so thankful I came across SheCodes. I had tried another expensive beginner coding course but was completely overwhelmed as a coding newbie. Matt teaches you the fundamentals in such an organized and fun way that I was really able to comprehend what I was learning. I was really impressed on how Matt breaks down each lesson and demonstrates how to implement the code in a video. The lesson challenges following the demonstration really helps with your comprehension and ultimately sticks in your head. Matt is really great about giving you tips and tricks to find more information on your own as well but ultimately what he teaches is great for an intro course. Matt definitely gave me the confidence to continue my coding journey with SheCodes. I highly recommend this course even if you have never coded before!
SheCodes Basic has been such a fun experience! This portion of the course was a nice breather after the first 2 courses. I still managed to learn a lot of interesting code and techniques but it seemed to flow easier this round. I enjoyed being able to built my portfolio and see how Matt would have built his.

This course is very good if you want to learn more about coding. It is sometimes very challenging but with the help of Matt and his team you will get through it. I learned a lot and can recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn a new skill.
Making webpages more responsive takes a surprising amount of patience, but it was helpful to see Matt model how to build responsively and get the help of the team on Slack. By the end of my project, I started to feel like I was getting the hang of problem-solving. It's nice to have so many projects integrated into the workshops so I can put new learning into practice.
I have always been interested in coding, but i never thought i would end up loving it! SheCodes Workshop provides an easy but comprehensive introduction to HTML, CSS and Javascript to people from different professional backgrounds and with varying levels of expertise. Matt is a great teacher, who made coding a fun and exciting experience. I would recommend this course to anyone!
Totally loved this course! I used to build websites from scratch when I was around 12-years old yet over 10+ years, I just somehow didn't continue with this hobby anymore. With this 3-week course, I wanted to find out if this love for coding was still there and it definitely is! The way Matt teaches is so engaging and motivating, plus the Slack channel with fellow students ensures you can keep each other accountable in completing the projects. My next step? After participating in the 1-hour introduction session by Matt I was convinced that SheCodes is exactly the type of coding course that I identify with - and I was not disappointed ☺️ I really like the concept of learning in small chunks combining videos & exercises. It's pretty cool that all videos are recorded by Matt himself and appear very pure - small stuff such as slips are not edited / cut out, the coding itself is shown in its whole (uncut) so the viewer can fully witness and thus better understand every move. It gives it a personal touch, like learning from a friend 😊 It feels to me that doing the workshops is more than "just" learning how to code. It gives me confidence that I am not bound to what I've studied 💪 It provides me with tools and triggers creative sparks that are useful in many situations. And last but not least - super nice branding! It's a beautifully crafted brand and design. I am enthusiastic and excited whenever I talk to my friends about SheCodes and now I can even show off my SheCodes swag 😎 Looking forward to continuing my coding journey all the way to Pro!
This is has been a long but wonderful journey. I am so proud of the progress I have made during SheCodes Responsive and it wouldn't have happened would it not have have been for Matt and the amazing team at SheCodes. If you are on the fence as to whether this will be the right journey for you. DO IT!. You wont regret it.
I've been somewhat interested in coding / web developing for a few years now, but learning everything by myself resulted in quite a mess in my head. SheCodes finally helped me make it all make sense! In addition to the very basics I've known, Matt and his team taught me many new tricks and possibilities that I'm sure will greatly improve my future projects. Every part of the course is designed really well, and even if you struggle with getting something work there's a huge support net made of SheCodes team and other students eager to help you figure things out. This course got me totally hooked on coding and I hope I'll be able to continue to progress!

This was the best experience learning to code for me. I was an absolute beginner when I started. Before I took this class, I never imagined I would be able to code. Matt does a great job of starting you off small, so that you feel victories as you go along to keep you motivated. All of the information about the programming languages was up to date information. This is much better than trying to go it alone. I enjoyed the final project so much and I would recommend SheCodes to any ladies I know that want to learn.

It has certainly been an experience so far! Learning to code will definitely surprise you its not would i thought it would be pleasantly surprised actually. Matt and team have broken the courses down into perfectly sizeable chunks, attention to detail is key but i will say be prepared to put you're perfectionism aside in order to persevere.I would recommend to give shecodes BASICS to see if coding is for you.
Starting my coding journey with SheCodes was a great decision! Tutorials are clear and easy to follow even for an absolute beginner. After completing all of Matt's challenges and a final project I feel confident about exploring more complex coding issues. Excited to move on to the next SheCodes course.
I love SheCodes workshop!!! This was fun and easy way to learn coding. I learned a little bit when I took web design class in college but, it was difficult to understand. Taking this workshop, watching the videos, doing the challenges, and homework made it help. I recommend anyone to take this workshop. I'm totally beginners in coding and no idea about how a website built. Through out the basic course i really enjoy it, especially when i run my code and its working! even though i only have limited time to do my exercises and my homework i still manage to make it on time. I can say that, Matt is really a good teacher!
After taking SheCodes classes I feel like my knowledge has been finally put in order. Matt did a great job, slowly and precisely explaining how to do everything, in a way that anyone could understand. I look forward to continuing my coding practice with other SheCodes course!

I enjoyed the course and learned a lot from it. The content is well organised and focused on practical situations. Matt communicates super friendly and makes it easy to follow along. The Slack group is also a nice asset.
I work fulltime, and have a very active life besides work - the workload per week fits me just right, I could literally keep on forever with these lessons. If you're as much of a perfectionist as I am, you'll even have enough time to really dig into it and make your project your own - I love it! Looking forward to improve my coding skills even more, with additional SheCodes workshops. (@Matt You have to keep releasing new workshops so I can just keep going forever. 😂)
This class was tough but Matt explained everything in a way that made it easier to understand. I have to admit I did watch some of the videos more than once ... or twice. I cannot believe how much I learned. Great class!

First week was very challenging!! But the second and third week were a lot easier. Matt was a great teacher. And as I studied things became a lot easier.
I was so nervous at the beginning, but the SheCodes workshops have been broken down to be super easy to follow. This course was *so much fun*! Challenging at times, sure, but never too much so because I knew that if I ever needed it, help was just a simple click away. Matt's videos were helpful and fun and the Slack community would respond to any question I had, no matter how stupid it was, within a couple of hours. I always thought that coding was hard. That was until i took the initiative to sign up for shecodes. The community on slack is absolutely amazing!! Everyone is helpful and learning is easy!! I had a great 3 weeks learning to code using Matt's simple and effective videos. As a business analyst, I work with Software Developers and have always been interested in understanding more about what they do (and what they are talking about in meetings!). This has given me a great, basic understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript.

At first I was wary of doing coding. I've always wanted to do it but didn't know if I would enjoy it. When I took Matts free hour class I decided to jump fully in and I have loved every minute of it. His course is just the right amount of teaching but also a challenge to where you need to figure it out on your own. I liked that the groups on slack where available 24/7 where you can ask questions or see other student questions that could help you get through the course. I really enjoyed this class and cant wait to begin shecodes plus!

Matt was a great instructor and made everything so easy to understand. I also really loved the SheCodes community, it made me feel connected to a group even though all of the sessions were virtual. If you are considering learning to code, either for professional reasons or just to learn a new skill, I highly recommend SheCodes!!

This course in, without exaggerating, the best course I have ever taken. For MANY reasons. I have no background in the Tech. I never had ANY interest in it either, until a couple of weeks ago. I love how flexible, pedagogic and mind-blowing this course is. For me, someone with zero experience, it was a bit TERRIFYING to start coding, but this course is almost impossible not to pass. The instructions are smooth to follow. Lessons are short, informative, and bring lots of value. Challenges are in line with lessons. This entire course is divided into shorter sessions, making it so smooth to learn. I cannot believe how much I have learned in under three weeks - it is INSANE! If someone would have told me few months ago that I would be able to create a webpage using HTML, CSS and JavaScript all on MY OWN, I would never believe them. And this was just a Introduction Workshop! I am looking forward to starting the next workshop! If you are hesitating, if you have second thoughts, DO NOT. This will be the best investment you will ever make. Matt is an incredible teacher and this course could change your life! I have never been this proud and HAPPY with MYSELF and my achievements. SheCodes Plus was not easy but I learnt so much from this course and it gave me an edge over my classmates in my engineering course. Matt was a great teacher and his videos were very easy to understand. The programmers in slack were also very helpful in answering all my questions. I hope that this will be of help when I apply for my professional internship.
SheCodes Basic was a great introduction to Coding. Matt makes breaks it down and makes it easy to learn, especially for a beginner like me with zero knowledge of coding. I really enjoyed my experience learning the basics and can't wait to learn more and advance my skills with SheCodes Plus!
