I was always intimidated by programming, but SheCodes Plus has got me over my fear. This program is great for beginners, especially due to the instructions from Matt and assistance from Joao! The course is designed to break down components, so students do not feel overwhelmed learning all the material. After trying several free and nearly free resources online, I realized that I needed a bare minimum of accountability and structure to continue my own coding journey during an especially busy time in my life. SheCodes provides exactly that, as well as a community and instructors to lean on if necessary. I've found the course materials more professional, better organized, and better harmonized to the assignments than for any other course I have tried to date. Even on occasions when I'd already been introduced to material elsewhere, Matt added practical, up-to-date tips that further enhanced my knowledge. I started out with little knowledge of HTML and an aspiration to learn more about HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. Can safely say that in the last month I've successfully learnt and retained more code than I ever thought I would! I've loved every minute of the SheCodes 'Intro to Coding' course, the layout of the workshops are fantastic, with bite-sized lessons that Matt explains very clearly. You're putting into practice what you've learnt every step of the way, so you're really getting a good understanding of what the main elements are and how the coding languages work together. Would highly recommend!
When I started with SheCodes I had no idea where this journey would take me. A lot happened in the past six months. I've actually gotten my first IT job, worked hard, learnt a lot and I am about to get an opportunity to start as a React trainee. I really enjoyed and had so much fun doing this workshop with Matt. I loved that the lessons were going step-by-step, it really helped to understand each element and their connection to one another. Also loved the challenges - although sometimes a bit frustrating, but was able to received help on Slack. Overall super experience, definitely would recommend!
The SheCodes Basics is a great place to start learning how to code. Matt's lessons are easy to follow and challenges at the end of the lesson make you apply what you've learned right away. It is amazing to go from no coding knowledge to a finished website in just three weeks :)

Because I work as a graphic designer and never learned to code in school I often found it difficult to understand and talk to developers. I wanted to learn how to actually bring my designs to life on the web but had no clue where to start. Matt broke it down very easily and the videos allowed me the freedom to learn at my own pace. What started off as a bit of a daunting "work chore" turned into something really fun! I definitely want to continue to code now!
This was a rewarding and sometimes frustrating journey for me! But I'm so glad I continued. The classes were well organized and easy to follow; the challenges definitely pushed my learning, and I could not be more grateful. At first I didn't believe I would learn to code anything, but step by step, lesson by lesson, and there it is: my first web-page ever. Although I have a Masters Degree in Software Engineering, I have always been anxious when it comes to coding. I'm an absolute beginner and I've tried to learn to code through other programs online and failed everytime...until I found SheCodes! The Basics Workshop was so much fun and Matt was a great instructor. The videos were super helpful and the weekly homework was challenging but not discouraging. I enjoyed the final project as it allowed me to be creative, have fun, and it was so satisfying to see how much I was able to learn in just a week! I can't wait for the SheCodes Plus workshop 🥰

My experience at SheCodes was amazing! I have wanted to learn to code for a long time but always felt it would be too hard as I am not from a tech background. After attending the free coding class I decided to do it and join the beginners workshop. The way Matt explains things makes it so accessible and less scary. After graduating from my Business IT degree I had no intention to pursue coding as a career or even attempt it ever again. However after revisiting the basics I realised and remembered how enjoyable it was and it is definitely something I have grown passionate about again. I've been meaning to try a basics coding class for awhile and am so glad I found SheCodes. Matt's videos were bite-sized and very digestive, especially for beginners. I can't believe I'm able to make a Html/CSS landing page with Javascript from scratch after 3 weeks. The course was very informative and fun, a definite recommend!
It has been such a fun and educational three weeks. I have never enjoyed coding so much before. Prior to enrolling at SheCodes, I used to feel hesitant to code despite being a Computer Science major. I was second guessing in taking this workshop because I felt the need to actually be in a class with a real professor, but I took the chances and took the Basic Coding Workshop and I absolutely loved it! SheCodes Basic is well structured, easy to follow and the SheCodes basic has covered basic elements you'll need to start a website. As a Psychologist, I never thought I would be coding or doing anything related to technology. I started this workshop out of curiosity and I can say now that I see myself growing in this capacity. SheCodes Basics is a great introduction to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript! The theory is explained in an easy-to-understand way and Matt shows many examples when explaining. I was surprised at how quickly I understood brand new concepts! I enjoyed the final project and felt super motivated after seeing what I've built. I'm looking forward to learning more on my journey into front-end development.

This basics course exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Matt is a great teacher and the approachability of the material, community, support, and resources was key to my learning. It can feel a bit daunting to realize I do not learn as quickly as when I was in school full time, but I found things clicking along the way and making their way into my day to day vocabulary. I have shown my work to friends that have taken expensive courses and/or gone to university and they are impressed in how much I was able to retain and the incredible resources available to me. From curated cheatsheets, to color gradients, image hosting, videos I can play at any time and even SheCodes Radio(my favorite part!). Highly recommend more women empower themselves through code there are not enough of us!

This course was probably the best thing I've participated in. Everything was easy to understand & straightforward. In the space of 2-3 weeks, I have already started working on my own website. Without signing up to SheCodes, I think I would have either 1. Spent a large amount of money on another coding course, which I may not have finished 2. Put off from the amount of money I would have to pay, so I would have left it & never would have started my website. Thanks Matt!

This course was really fun, Matt explained everything so clearly in the videos and for a coding beginner like me, I was able to grasp it pretty much straight away because of how the course was set out and how the coding was explained. Plus there was always help via slack when I got stuck. Kind of sad I have finished it but now I know the basics I definitely want to continue to experiment.

Never thought I would be able to code but Matt and his team made coding enjoyable and easy to learn! I really enjoyed doing the challenges and a small win for me from zero coding knowledge to coding a simple webpage! :) Thanks Matt and SheCodes Team!
I tried learning HTML, CSS and JS a few times before. The HTML and CSS part has always been clear to me, but JS was a bit tricky. Matt explains it realy good and I had no problem writing these simple functions. :) It got me really excited for the future and I can't wait to keep learning with Matt and SheCodes.
