This SheCodes workshop was a great introduction into to learning Python basics. The content was clear and easy to follow thanks to Matt's bite-sized chunked tutorial videos. I was given plenty of opportunities to practise what I had learnt through the challenges and weekly homeworks. I'm looking forward to the next step of completing the Python Advanced workshop to learn more.
SheCodes Plus was an incredibly challenging yet rewarding experience for me. The excitement of gaining skills to develop a functional weather application kept me motivated throughout the journey. The AI add-on module was a lot of fun to learn. Thank you Matt for developing an AI API for your students, saving us the trouble of paying for one. In the online sessions, Matt explains every code snippet which is very helpful for us auditory people who learn most effectively by listening. He uses simple, easy-to-understand terminology. Started this programme with zero knowledge of coding, but Matt explained things so well and made it all make sense. I am very excited and optimistic about the journey ahead.
Editing HTML with CSS has always been a nightmare for me. I am not a web designer and neither am I a theory person. So some external training videos and articles only increased my anxiety so I stopped trying to learn HTML and CSS. I have always been in the backend development only. In Matt's tutorial videos, the placement of div, and the way to use inspect to see where my padding/margin issues are, it was mind-blowing and made a lot of sense. With Matt's video, I was able to understand the theory without even trying harder. I'm amazed at myself when I can easily build a landing page. Of course with some additional resource references, but hey, it's still great progress for me! Kudos to me for trusting SheCodes and kudos to the SheCodes team for turning my wish list into a reality!
Matt took me by the hands into the world of JavaScript. Before I started the SheCodes Plus workshop, I had been taking courses from other instructors, but I was still confused and overwhelmed about where to start with JavaScript. The React 6-week course was the perfect introduction to React. Everything is well explained and it was great to put together a weather application using React to see how it works in practice. I also enjoyed following along with the tutorial, but using the SheCodes API to build the application. Whilst Matt used the OpenWeather API at the time of the recording, I found it useful having a different API to use, to learn from his method, but adapt it based on a different API resource. I would highly recommend this course!

I canβt recommend this enough! After countless tries and digging through tons of resources, this platform finally gave me a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS. I always thought it would be way harder, but Matt breaks it down and makes it all so easy to grasp.
This first step was fundamental for me to realize that it is totally possible to learn how to code. Because of previous experiences, I was a little bit afraid to try again, but Matt makes it all seem so simple and easy that this first step was actually fun. I'm really happy with my results so far, and anxious to see what I can achieve from now on.
Matt and the SheCodes team work really hard to make sure you feel successful. The final projects of each certification ensure that you build a portfolio. After finishing the Basics I feel confident as a beginner and ready to take on more challenges!

It was so fun to create a world clock with live data from the different timezones, advancing my Javascript skills further. The more and more I use JS the better I get at doing it on my own before Matt finishes with his explanations. I'm so happy I joined this foundation when I did.

This was the hardest one yet but I really enjoyed all the homework more especially the project. It was one of those "Omg did I really do that", Matt as usual explains everything so clearly you just have to focus and go back to a lesson video if you're confused but more often than not your answer lies in rewatching the lessons.
The Responsive Plus workshop, like all the other SheCodes workshop that I have taken, is chock full of solid skills which any Front End Developer definitely needs to be good and efficient. I have loved creating this project, from Figma to Screen - and then I enjoyed tweaking it to show off a subject which I am VERY excited about: Patagonia. Thankyou to Matt and the entire She Codes team for a well paced and well thought out programme and for all the technical help along the way.
I am so glad I took the Basics Workshop. What started as pure curiosity has turned into something I am interested in pursuing. The workshop was well-structured and easy to follow, and Matt explained things easily. The mentors were always quick to respond and help. I can't believe what I built in the final project.
Learning from Matt is the best time spent
There were some challenging concepts to learn and apply throughout this element of the course. As always, Matt kept the learning engaging and presented it in an understandable way.
Workshops are great but I find can be very confusing sometimes as Matt can sometimes be difficult to follow as not all things are explained thoroughly.
SheCodes is fantastic. The lessons are easy to follow. Matt is a great instructor.
I really enjoyed the pacing of this course and actually started working right along Matt, while he was explaining different concepts. Although it's a short one, I enjoyed learning about grids and applying transform effects to images.
It was really fun to learn Python, and the way Matt teaches it is really easy and fun to learn.
This phase was definitely challenging but I am proud to have sailed through. I am delighted about all that I learnt in this workshop, I am grateful to Matt for his wonderful teaching skills which made coding easy and to the SheCodes team for always being there to help whenever I have a challenge. I really loved this course! I come from a fashion background and have never done coding or anything tech related but it's something I've wanted to try for a while. Before discovering SheCodes, I looked into coding courses held at university institutions which are quite expensive. A lot of them were short courses and diplomas within Computer Science, Programming and Data Analytics which required additional years of studying, prerequisites in math (which is not my strong suit) and high tuition fees. This was discouraging as they didn't fit into my schedule and I didn't want to run the risk of paying high tuition fees on a course without truly knowing whether I'd enjoy it. The SheCodes Basics course was an easy and affordable way for me to decipher whether I would actually enjoy coding without committing to a full course which can be expensive and with the risk that I might not even enjoy it. As a first time coder, there were some challenges but nothing I couldn't resolve on my own and overall I had a lot of fun so I'm excited to continue my learning! I found Matt's video tutorials were engaging and easy to follow and I appreciate that he encourages you to look up solutions to issues you may encounter online - there are lots of resources! His teaching style suited my learning style with lots of guidance along the way.

This was by far the most challenging SheCodes course! Not because of Matt's teaching, but because React itself is quite complex. The course is structured into manageable chunks, and Iβm proud I could create a functional React Weather App by the end.

When we started working on a Weather app during week one of SheCodes plus, the task seemed very intimidating. Especially the requirement to incorporate real time data. Matt did an excellent job breaking down the daunting task into comprehensible lessons. At the end of the course, my Weather app project no longer felt intimidating rather, it was quite fun to work with. It felt easy enough to work on, that I challenged myself to build two additional themes for the app. I love the challenges at the end of most lessons, testing frequently is one of the best ways to retain and recall new information. I liked how Matt explained a concept and immediately we had to try to implement it. It makes memorizing easier, the explanations were concise and easy to understand.
The workshops are thought out well. Matt is a good instructor and his videos are thorough with good examples. I have tried many video based courses to assist with becoming a web developer but I find myself losing interest. I like the fact there are due dates with the homework assignments and projects. That keeps me more focused and willing to stay motivated.
I had already learned Python before starting this module, so it was a nice little practice for me, and I enjoyed the final project! I was introduced to a new Python library (RICH) and compared using Python vs. Javascript after focusing solely on JS for a while. Once again, Matt does a wonderful job of breaking the learning into easily digestible bites, which makes the learning feel easy while still challenging.
