I would definitely recommend SheCodes !! I applied for the course to help me enhanced my knowledge on web development but not only did I gain knowledge but I had fun being apart of the SheCodes family. I was able to help and have help using the Slack app as well as made friends during my time on SheCodes. I was certain this course would be of excellent standard after attending the "Free Coding Class" by Matt. He has a very simple way of teaching code that is easy to understand for all. It amazes me how much I have learnt in only 3 weeks and look forward to continuing this journey with the more advanced classes. The most enjoyable part for me was working on my final project - you learn so much more from applying what you have learnt in the context of a subject you are passionate about!
Needing to refresh some prior basic coding knowledge, I appreciated Matt's approach. His explanations clarified aspects of html and css that up until now, were not so obvious. The weekly setup is easy to follow and with continuous practice at hand, it's easier to get into it. I highly enjoyed taking the basic SheCodes course!

This is my second course I've taken with SheCodes and I had just as good of an experience as the first time. Yes, it's more challenging, but Matt's videos were very straightforward and I always received the help I needed through Slack if I got stuck on something. I highly recommend SheCodes to any beginners trying to get into coding as it's really helped me solidify I made a right decision making a career change to Tech, and I'm ready to consider signing up for the even more advanced Workshop now!
It was sometimes very frustrating, but all the more rewarding in the end. Matt explains really well in his videos and João is a lifesaver on Slack. What a great experience! Glad I signed-up for SheCodes.
SheCodes Plus was an amazing opportunity to dive deeper into front end development. It was such a great learning experience, and I loved the end project that was created. Matt's videos and challenges are easy to follow and understand too. I had such a fun time during this workshop.
I spent way too much of my life believing I shouldn't/couldn't code because "I'm not like a coder." FALSE. I'm not like what I think a coder should be in my head, but this course proved to me that literally anyone, ANYONE can and should learn to code if they want to. I absolutely love the bite-sized lessons that build on each other like Lego. The concepts are easily digestible and I looked forward to being done work so I could code every single day. I don't think I've had so much fun learning a new skill in a long time. I love the Slack community and Matt's teaching style. I highly recommend at least giving the introductory 3-week module a try if you're even the least bit curious. I can't wait to continue on to the next two modules! I got my co-worker to do it with me and she loved it as well :)
The three-week workshop was a great introduction for someone with little-to-no experience with coding. Lessons were easy to follow and provided lots practice along the way. Loved listening to Matt's cute voice too. Would highly recommend!

I've been interested in coding for over a year now, and i've done some courses and this is by far one of the best workshops i've done. Matt's instructions are clear and the overwall course is very well structured and a prime example of how code should be taught. This 3 week experience has given me a lot more confidence and knowledge to keep learning while enjoying it. Even if you are not a beginner, this course has many important, basic and essencial things to learn.
An accident a few years ago left me with vision impairment & unable to continue working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. I am a mother to three wonderful children and was living on a fixed income while doing my best to navigate the world with a disability. After two successful surgeries earlier this year, I not only regained my vision, but I have been told by my doctor that I now 20/20 VISION!!!!! Considering the fact that it is the year 2020, I felt the timing could not have been more perfect! I was ready to go out into the world with my new vision & hit the ground running with all the dreams & plans that were halted after my accident. Then...COVID-19 hit & everything halted. I had grown to be quite adaptable when I was living with a disability, so I learned how to switch gears swiftly. That is when I discovered SheCodes. I am an artist who has always been intrigued with what made the websites I frequented most, do what they do? I have always been fascinated with how websites are designed, so I thought that it was a no-brainer to combine my creative side with technology. I want to do so much since I have been blessed to have my vision restored & SheCodes is definitely making that possible. The lessons & challenges are designed in a way that makes it easy to retain information. Matt is an expert coder & a perfect fit as an instructor. I am definitely signing up for SheCodes Plus!!
I'm so grateful and thankful that I've finished this course. I felt really happy every time when I look at my weather app as I able to build the whole weather app from scratch! Surely, the eager of learning is even greater now! Because of the COVID pandemic and the entertainment world shutting down indefinitely, I have been out of work since March with no employment in site which forced me to scramble and figure something out. I like to code because I can program my own things. It's really hard to do it with other online coding programs because I was an absolute beginner for coding, but SheCodes just made it so easy. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes community !
The SheCodes React workshop was super useful. It was organized in a easily digestible way just like the initial Introduction To Coding workshop. A small part of me wishes that the project was a different subject (weather app) than the Front-End Development workshop but it was probably a lot easier to navigate through the lessons because the subject was familiar and the process was familiar. Any way, I learned a lot, I feel confident in the parts that I've learned, I have a great project to show off, and I really enjoyed the entirety of the course. Thanks Matt and everyone at SheCodes
SheCodes was a great way to get starting experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The lectures were to the point and the challenges were a great way to practice and expand on newly learned techniques. I felt the course progressed at a great rate. I appreciate how Matt taught methods to use the internet as a tool to expand my learning. I will forever be using 'Inspect'.

SheCodes is a great resource for those learning how to code! With easy to follow lessons that led to challenges and homework that was applicable to the skills being taught, Matt does a great job of helping new coders get started while still showing how to search and learn new information on your own.
Six weeks ago I decided that I wanted to learn to code, so I started as a self taught. SheCodes made it easier for me as they provide the contents well organized, and also, because Matt is a great teacher. The course is very indroductive, specially into JavaScript, and wouldn't allow me to work yet. I am glad that I will continue my learning with the SheCodes Plus program 😍.
I would 100% recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking to learn the basics when it comes to coding. Each week, you listen to a few pre-recorded lessons which you use to complete challenges. Once you submit your own solution to the challenge, you are able to watch Matt's suggested solution. It's completely addicting! Every lesson builds on topics you learned previously and it's hard to not want to go in even deeper and explore new concepts on your own. Super fun and engaging.
Having two full time jobs and having the time to pursue a further education in coding with this program is a dream come true for me. I can't wait to continue my learning journey and I'm so grateful that SheCodes and Matt were there every step of the way. I've learned so much in just a few weeks even if it took me abit longer to learn them. If you have the opportunity to make time for SheCodes I 100% say you should go for it. What an amazing journey! Like many of us, I started with the SheCodes workshop because, as a designer, I wanted to have some basic coding knowledge. I liked it so much that I wanted to learn more and went to SheCodes Plus where I felt I've learned so much and finished with a good understanding of coding language. So I decided to take the other step - React! - that I truly hope and believe that it will open a new door to a new career. I will not say that it was an easy path, but Matt is an amazing teacher and explains everything in a good and clear way. And he is supported with an amazing team that will not let you stay behind. I have to give a special thanks to João, for his patient and dedication to the project, he was always ready to help and clarify all my (many) doubts!
I think Matt is a great teacher. All the instruction was laid out in a very logical, easy-to-follow way. I'm a super busy mum with four kids running around - one is a new baby. But I still wanted to do this, even though I was a bit wary of being able to juggle it all. However, because everything laid out so well, I found it very enjoyable. I will definitely be continuing to take more SheCodes workshops.

As someone who isn't the academic type and never really did well in school, I would really highly recommend this course. Matt explains everything very clearly and gives very informative and easy to understand tutorials. The course runs at a very comfortable pace with frequent challenges that test your knowledge and can be done in your spare time. At times I was tasked with finding things out for myself instead of having all the answers handed to me from the offset; I'd imagine this is what it's like actually coding outside of a "classroom" environment and it can be incredibly rewarding! However, It's also very helpful having the Slack group at hand in case there's a problem that Google can't solve. The support team are fantastic! If you're looking to get into coding this is the way to go. I'm surprised at how much I've accomplished in less than 3 weeks and can't wait to progress on to SheCodes Plus and beyond!
This was a really great introductory course to web development and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in coding! This was my first-ever experience coding and the end result is a great representation of what this course taught me. I am a pharmacy student, so I can definitely say that coding is not really near my field at all, however I was still interested in exploring other fields, and I'm glad that I committed to this until the end. I found that it gave me enough work throughout the week, where I was still pushing myself to complete the challenges and lessons, but still had enough time to complete it as well. It is very flexible, and you can do your lessons/challenges whenever and wherever you want because it's online. You will always get your questions answered if you get stuck as well because of the large and friendly community they have created. Matt is a great instructor and explains his thought process very well! Thank you SheCodes 😁
I had always wanted to learn programming and thought the opportunity was out of reach until I joined SheCodes. Matt has created an encouraging community that makes learning HTML, Css and Java Script accessible and fun. After a few lessons, I could teach someone else the basics! Today I know more than I could have imagined and can code confidently.

Having played with HTML coding when I was younger, I was surprised at how much I could remember. Being able to build on my knowledge further in order to learn new HTML skills, allowed me to become more proficient. Learning CSS and JavaScript from scratch was daunting, but I am incredibly proud of my achievement in just three weeks. A huge thank you to Matt, Lexi, João and the rest of the team for being so supportive throughout the whole process!

Matt was an incredible instructor who was able to simplify and break down topics that otherwise might be a bit challenging for a beginner to digest. The neat thing about this particular program were the small "challenges" that we would be assigned to after learning a new topic that really allowed us to retain the information better by implementing the code ourselves. I would definitely recommend this course for people who are looking to enter the wonderful world of coding you won't be disappointed.
I heard about coding for a while now, but it always seemed intimidating. Thanks to SheCodes I managed to surpass my expectations, and create this project. This worksop has given me valuable skills in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6 (with the help of CodePen and Visual Studio Code) that I strongly believe anyone should have in this day and age. You will never feel lost or stuck, as the SheCodes team and the other students are there for you at any point. The classes are well structured, and you can take them in your own time. This has been the easiest and most interactive way for me to learn how to code. In the past I was used to learning html and css from generic apps, but they weren't nearly as fun as SheCodes. If you're on the fence, I would highly recommend trying out the 3-week workshop in order to get a feel for the curriculum like I did and be a part of the slack online project help forum. I'm looking forward to purchasing the SheCodes Plus course soon because of how much I liked this one. Thanks, Matt, for such amazing instruction and explanation of the material!!
The course is well paced and Matt is a great instructor. Some of the lessons can be challenging but also very fun once you start getting the hang of it. It's also great that you can ask for help when you need it and rewatch videos if you get stuck. I definitely recommend taking it if you like coding.
Very much enjoyed the Plus Program! Matt's lessons are easy explained and fun to play around with. The small challenges from the lessons eventually merge together and before you know, you've built a pretty cool weather app! 🤩👩🏼💻

Overall the help sheets and video explanations are very clear from Matt, learned a new world and found it interesting for sure. However, I do not like the platform Slack. I've had help today but I didn't even notice the answer until hours later, and the answer did not help me find a solution regardless. Slack is definitely not a simple platform to follow, it's confusing and overloaded with unnecessary messages from too many users. I submitted my final project, but I am not happy with a lot of things and even with google I could not find the solutions. I followed Matts advice and instructions but a lot of things were not working, even when writing multiple of times, refreshing pages, and writing them carefully while checking my notes. I didn't have so many problems with my last homework submission so I don't understand why this one was so hard to complete.
I've learned so much in just 3 weeks! The assignments were fun, challenging, and super accessible. Matt is a great teacher. I discovered a passion for coding that I can't wait to keep pursuing!

Loved this course! I'm a beginner in coding but have dabbled a little bit here and there because I've been interested for a while and this course absolutely nailed it! Matt is so clear and explains everything in such a simple way so it's easy for a beginner to understand and it actually makes sense. Definitely enjoyed this course and currently planning on doing one of the advanced workshop because this is definitely something I can see myself taking forward and what an amazing forum to do so! 100% recommend.

I discovered SheCodes through an add that I saw on youtube. When I went on the website, I was astonished at the quality of the content, how well it was organized and the simplicity of it. I didn't know what to expect at first because I had no previous experience with coding, but I wanted to try something new that would be challenging enough to bring me out of my comfort zone, so I went ahead and choose to do the 3 Weeks Workshop Program. Now let me tell you; it was the best decision I could have ever made! I never thought that I would learn this much in only 3 weeks !!! I am truly happy to have decided to apply for this course. In just 3 weeks I was able to learn so much and in such a fun and interesting way, not boring at all! 😄 In every video lesson, Matt explains everything in a very simple and efficient way and the challenges that he gives in each lesson are so worthy because you only learn by doing and you learn even more when things don’t work and you have to find by yourself what was wrong, knowing that you also can ask for help anytime you want. All 3 SheCodes' courses gave me the knowledge and tools to go ahead and finally learn how to code using everyday mark-up languages plus React which is currently an industry favorite! I am continuing my journey using the documentation that I can look at for as long as I need and continuing to code on my own. I feel confident that I can start applying for junior web developer positions with the idea that I can learn on the job with the tools I was taught by Matt and team!
This workshop was definitely a step-up from the introductory one before. It was a gruelling 6 weeks but as usual, Matt was very thorough in his explanation as he coaches us step-by-step in the process of creating our own weather application. João is a life saver as he is always there on Slack to help us whenever problems arises. He is always super patient and very in-depth in his explanations. I find myself learning a lot more outside of class through my conversations with him. Definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to progress further into the areas of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Due to the Coronavirus situation I had enough time to think how I would like to spend my time. Searching for coding courses my attention was captivated by a course for women. I said I should give it a try. So, I graduated the first course "Introduction to coding"(where I learnt the basic of HTML, CSS, Java Script) and it seemed to arouse my curiosity more. And now, I just finished #SheCodes Plus, 8 weeks of great experience, of learning new technologies (API, Github, Hosting, Bootstrap) and meeting so many smart women. Had so much fun completing SheCodes Plus - it really pushed me to build on the lessons Matt provides and make use of other online resources to build both a page that fitted the brief and expressed my creativity! Can't wait to build on this knowledge with SheCodes React!
It may have taken me 3 weeks and two days to complete the SheCodes Workshop, but this experience has taught me an insurmountable amount about tackling my fears! Each lesson pushed my knowledge in code just the right amount, to where I could then knock out the challenges bit by bit. I attribute my success as well to, Lexi D., and other members of the SheCodes.io Slack community, and especially because I was experiencing setbacks coming from a place of doubt as I reached the half-way point of the course. But, the fast responses to my inquiries as to why it was that my code wasn't working, quickly got me back into tempo, (hence the additional two days), and eventually having the confidence to face the dysfunctional coding mishaps on my behalf. After viewing their online commercial, I was a bit hesitant at first to consider spending the $99 that course would cost, however after the free live-session workshop which I joined, this solidified my stance once and for all to overcome my fears and learn how to code! It truly is amazing to see that after three years following my initial attempt to complete an HTML course, SheCodes Workshop not only aided in my knowledge base of HTML, but provided me with a solid understanding of Javascript, and CSS basics, and most of all, a motivating community--which overall factored into my successful completion of the workshop course. My advice for anyone considering to opt for SheCodes is that, realize it's a worthwhile investment that lasts a lifetime. The skills learned in this workshop shows a glimpse of an individual's forbearance, needed to succeed in life's challenges, no matter how daunting they seem to be at first.
It's not easy to work a full-time job and learn a new skill, but Shecodes really helped me understand a little bit of the world of coding in the most simple way they could teach! I own a big thanks to Matt for the awesome classes, easy to follow along, and to Lexi, for the big support and understanding!
Matt is awesome !!!! I enjoyed how his lessons are laid out. I have done some stuff on my own before with little success. I did feel that it helped things click a little more. I am excited to move onto PLUS. I feel SheCodes is just what I was looking for. Thank you for this platform and everything you all do.
This was an extremely intuitive program. Everything was taught in a way that was easy to understand, but also very easy to build off of. I feel very prepared to proceed to the next workshop and am excited to continue learning with Matt!
With an easy to follow curriculum and a take it step-by-step instructor like Matt, learning how to code was made fun and easy with constant support via slack. With constant support from others in the course and instructors, this workshop has really opened my eyes to insane possibilities as a developer. Can not wait to learn more and master what I can via SheCodes.
SheCodes was an amazing experience. The lessons are bite-sized and comprehensive. Matt is a great instructor and help is available to you at any moment over Slack. I loved this course and will use my brand new foundational knowledge to further my expertise with front-end web dev.
SheCodes was a great introductory workshop! I am attending University of Washington's coding bootcamp in the Fall, and wanted to take a prep course - and this workshop made me feel super confident because I have the basics down :) Matt is also an amazing instructor, he goes into details on WHY and HOW and not just "here's the code". The challenges were great because they reinforced the knowledge! 10/10 would take this workshop again!

Matt explains the process of building code in a clearly and the challenges provided, unlike a lot of courses I've tried, really require that you think through what to do rather than copying exactly what the video said.

Matt is a great instructor! Lessons are approachable and easy to understand -- but also quite challenging, for someone who has no background on coding. If you get stuck, there is always someone ready to help you. It made starting to code a lot less scary. Most importantly, it was a lot of fun! I can't wait to learn more.
Coding is intimidating. I was a complete beginner but Matt immediately removed the skepticism surrounding my ability to learn to code. Matt's way of teaching is clear and very understandable! Plus there was slack to help out with minor issue I faced throughout. Overall, it is a well executed course and I enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you so much!

This workshop is totally worth it! You will learn everything from scratch, and end up building a functional weather app on your own. It is such a tough journey, but thank you Matt and the team, I learnt a lot and can't wait to join the next workshop (SheCodes React).
SheCodes was an incredible experience! Matt instructs the classes through bite-sized chunks so it's very easy to follow and comprehend, plus I could learn at my own pace. I knew I would learn, but I didn't expect to have so much fun during this course.

I have always been intimidated by the thought of learning how to code but Matt and his team have created such a great community in which you feel empowered and supported to learn. I can't recommend this program enough. I hadn't coded anything since editing my MySpace profile's HTML, and this course has taught me more in three weeks than I ever thought possible. Matt is an incredible instructor, and João answered every last one of my questions on the Slack chat. I recommend this for anyone and everyone who has ever wanted to learn more about coding and is intimidated about it or who needs something that works in a busy schedule. I would definitely recommend SheCodes to anyone and everyone! I came into this with no prior knowledge of coding and was terrified that I would not be able to pick it up. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case and have been satisfied with my progress. I found Matt's video explanations and demonstrations easy to understand and follow. And it was reassuring to know that help was a few clicks away!
