Learning to build in React came with a steep learning curve, but I overcame once I got out of my own way and tried a different approach. One thing that I can always appreciate about the way Matt and the team at SheCodes teaches coding it that there is always multiple solutions to the same problem. It helps with learning to problem solve without getting frustrated.

I had I great experience learning the basics, looking forward to learning about react. Matt is a great teacher, he explains everything with practical examples.
I had two major problems with this course. First, they don't teach you how to display the current weather and forecast in both Celsius and Fahrenheit (they only teach you how to do it for the current weather). Second, I had a full stack software engineer who also mentors software engineers review the code and he said it was really bad code. That we were taught really bad practices. Considering my only exposure to coding has been SheCodes and I followed along with Matt, I believe this reflects badly on the curriculum. I have done the entire SheCodes program, from the basics to the max workshops. They have a team that reviews the homework assignments and give you either a thumbs up or a thumbs down if it was done correctly. I have only ever received a thumbs up. I am really disappointed. The whole purpose of me joining SheCodes was to prepare myself for a career change. Now, I have to start over from scratch trying to learn clean coding practices.
Learned a lot in such a simple way, everything is explained very well, the structure of the matter is logical and it enables the student to grasp complicated concepts with no trouble. The flexibility of taking the classes is also a huge plus, I truly have only the best things to say about this course!
I started Shecode with a zero knowledge of coding and here I am well equiped and have gain mastery of so many things I thought won't be possible for me to learn. everything I know today about front-end development I owe it to Shecodes foundation; Matt and His team am grateful.

I cant believe how Shecodes changed my life in just 3 weeks. Shecodes made me a software engineer in the making. This intro course demystified the complexity of coding for me - Matt is good at breaking things down into easy to comprehend modules. I did try to over-complicate things and got stuck a couple of times (managed to find the errors myself), but did see that the SheCodes team was quick to assist other learners over on slack when they needed it. I enjoyed learning CSS part of coding the best as I am rather creative and loved playing around with the look of webpages etc.

This course was an amazing experience. I had three weeks to finish all my lessons and assignments but I just couldn't wait so I completed the course in over a week! The journey has completely changed my previous opinion about coding. There was little math involved in this basic course so I could use my creativity to create a simple website page, which is something I'm extremely proud of. Matt's instructions were simple but effective, and there were the Slack community and Athena AI to assist me during my learning process. I will definitely continue to improve my limited coding knowledge through other more advanced SheCodes courses.

I love how I can follow along with Matt. It helps me because I am a visual learner and once I see what I have then all the dots start to connect.
I started this course knowing absolutely nothing about coding and finished this short course with a lot of knowledge about what coding is and even could be. I find myself thinking how certain websites were coded and how I would go about it myself. Although it was a lot of information, Matt did a great job at teaching clearly, having the videos to refer back too was a great help too.
I have found SheCodes Basics Add-on a very interesting and useful course to implement additional features to your website. Matt explanations are clear and on point, it's really easy to keep up with the learning. Recommended!

My journey with She Codes Basics was nothing short of amazing. As someone with no prior coding experience, I was apprehensive about delving into the world of web development. I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 8 months or so learning all of what SheCodes has to offer me. While this React course was difficult at times, I feel it has helped me become a better coder. Matt has been an exceptional instructor and all the SheCodes staff have been excellent whenever a question arises. I just wish SheCodes had even more advanced React classes to take. I'm excited for the last add-on course and will be forever thankful to SheCodes for helping me find my passion in Front End Development!
