This course has been really really exciting and Matt is an excellent teacher! Those videos definitely taught me a lot and I am happy it is being done like this so I could go back in case I don't quite remember. This course gives you a lot of flexibility and for that, I am extremely happy. SheCodes Plus was more of a challenge for me but I figured it out and was able to create a weather app. The first time I started SheCodes Plus, it was very confusing and after redoing everything the second time it was fairly easy. I was able to learn API, GitHub, Bootstrap, and a little bit of hosting. Matt is a great teacher in explaining why we type a certain code and how it works! The instructors were always available to help with any questions I had. I'm excited to start the SheCodes Responsive!!
I was quite nervous to start this program since I have absolutely NO experience or knowledge in coding or software development. This program so was well organized and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I postponed this assignment twice! I wanted to submit it when my vision for it was complete. While figuring it out and brainstorming I developed some skills and some techniques that I didnt know about and didnt think I could do. I have tried other online courses and I found the topic on responsiveness to be not so straightforward. However, Matt's videos and demo together with some tips helped me to understand this better. SheCodes is an incredibly accessible way for women around the world to learn how to code. The lessons are easy to follow and move at a good pace. The projects are not only interesting, but also have real life value as examples of what you can do for potential employers. I appreciate that Matt always encourages us to have fun and to take breaks when we get frustrated - it's a healthy attitude that helps prevent me from getting overwhelmed. When I was a teacher, I learned that the most valuable thing we can teach our students is the ability to learn. Teaching people how to learn, problem solve, and figure things out on their own is incredibly empowering. SheCodes does that for you. While it's not always the most fun as a student (😅), being put in situations where you have to apply previous knowledge to figure out a new puzzle is a great exercise for learning. You'll often find yourself in positions like that during your lessons, but you become all the more stronger for it.
