I've just finished SheCodes Basics and have learned so much in a short amount of time. Matt is a great teacher and does a good job at simplifying the more complex topics. I'm in a computer programming certificate program at a local university, but feel that I've learned more in just three weeks participating in SheCodes than I have in most of my university courses so far. With the SheCodes workshops, I truly believe ANYONE can not only learn to code, but can excel in the CS field.

I would highly recommend SheCodes to anybody who would like to learn how to code, especially if you don't have any previous experience(s) with coding! I studied something completely different in Uni, but wanted to be able to transfer the passion that I have for creativity in my free time (in the future) into my 9-5 as well. I also wanted something that would continue to challenge my brain on a daily basis. After some internet searches I came across SheCodes and decided to take the free intro-to-coding class from Matt. I was hesitant at first since I had no prior experience to coding, but as soon as Matt said that you don't need prior experience and that anyone can learn how to code, I decided that it was worth giving it a try. It did not disappoint! I'm so happy that I followed the Basics course; I learned so much in 3 weeks and Matt's explanation videos were pretty easy to follow and also very helpful. At times it can get a bit frustrating when there are mistakes in your code that you're struggling to find and correct, but fear not! By retracing your steps or asking for help on Slack you will eventually figure it out and it will all be worth it! I'm exited to continue learning and can't wait to sign up for SheCodes Plus. 10/10

I always felt certain curiosity when it comes to learning code, as well as their different languages of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Captured by the idea in my head that it would be not only challenging but also intimidating. This workshop definitely showed me otherwise. I honestly didn't believe I could make it to the end of this course because React is not as easy as it has been so far. But once again Matt proved that anyone can do it! Throughout the course I felt that I was accompanied and that little by little I got there! and guess what? I got it!
I am on a path toward learning UX Design, but was too interested in the coding aspect of tech AND the ethics and structure of this particular workshop! I gave it a go after a lot of thought, and while I've "only" learned the basics, I am ending the workshop feeling accomplished and open to learning much more, especially from SheCodes, but self-learning must be continued after this!! I planned to start SheCodes Max as soon as possible because I have a lot of faith that it will teach me valuable hard skills for development, but considering I am pursuing UX, I'll be holding off on Max to focus on UX Design specifically. However, thanks to Matt's great communication, I have assurance that I will be able to afford Max with the discount that was offered, when I am ready to take it on.
Passed the next stage of training in SheCodes. Needless to say, it was not very easy. It was a real challenge for me. In addition to learning to code, I improve my level of English). It's good that Matt did not cut out his mistakes in the training video, but left options for correcting them in the video lessons. It added life into the video, made learning easier. It's great that there is freedom of choice, creativity, there are no certain limits. Thanks again for the opportunity to learn!

My first 3 weeks with SheCodes has been quite the ride, I was very new to the world of coding with very little experience and there was a lot of information that I had learn and it was overwhelming, but I feel as though there is room for me to get better at this craft as long as I push myself harder. I was recently at a point in my life of not having a clue what to do next. SheCodes basics was a freshening reminder of the little coding knowledge I had. The way Matt explains things so directly and understandably, with technical but also, very understandable and non-technical explanations, just eased this right in for me. I had a bit of a harder time because of the little time I had to work on this, but as the course progressed, my passion for each challenge and homework increased, until I decided to be creative and have fun with my project as well. It was a challenge, trying to figure out how to exactly turn my idea to life, and I was able to! :) The help of all the tutors, the guide of Matt, and the realization that this is something I want to do from now on led me here, and I wouldn't change it for a thing. I have always wanted to do something in IT, but didn't know what until I came across SheCodes! I have really enjoyed learning to code. I signed up to SheCodes so that I could expand my knowledge on a brand new skill to me. Recently, I have realised that I was no longer learning anything new within my retail job so I decided to take on the challenge of coding and so far I am really enjoying it! I was skeptical as to whether I would understand anything but so far, I am impressed with how much I have learnt. Thanks to the in depth lessons provided by Matt, I have made a silly, but functioning page which I am pretty pleased about.
This course has been a real journey! It was a challenge at parts but Matts way of teaching really helped me to understand everything. The course content is great and contains a lot of topics and useful information that you can take into a career with coding. Ladies and non-binary folks, if you're looking to get your feet wet in the world of coding, SheCodes is where it's at! I recently completed their Basics course, and had such a great time that I decided to level up and try out their SheCodes Plus program. Let me tell you, some of those later sections were a real brain-bender, but the experience was totally worth it. If you're a newbie to coding, I'd definitely recommend practicing your JavaScript skills and dabbling with APIs a bit before diving in. But with a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of patience, you'll be coding up a storm in no time. A huge shoutout to Matt and the whole SheCodes team for putting together such a fantastic program - you guys rock!

I had problems in first weeks but I learned after try hard and thanks to Matt how teach very good with lots of examples in each parts so I really enjoy the classes.
Building a project step by step along with Matt has been great, I'm really proud of my work! However, two main challenges I had with SheCodesPlus: 1. The JavaScript concepts are oftentimes not thoroughly explained, it remains for the most part quite superficial, you WILL need to dig deeper on your own. I personnally studied with a bunch of Youtube videos and a Codecademy course in parallell. 2. Towards the end of the project, everything revolving around API needs to be updated. In Matt's video, he uses an older API than the one you're supposed to use. So it's quite tricky to follow his steps and understand everything. The Slack chat can be really helpful in this moment, which is very nice. All in all I'm happy with my work, happy with my progress, and the support on Slack is great. But I remain slightly disappointed by the video courses which left a lot of questions unanswered. That's the beauty of code, you might say. The learning never stop!
I enjoyed so much this workshop from day one. Matt's lessons are so well explained, that every challenge was so entertaining to make and woke up my curiosity to learn. This first journey has been fun and I feel excited to continue with SheCodes Plus. I highly recommend it!

I must say that this course has been my favorite, completing the project in a responsive and SEO-friendly way has been a challenge but at the same time it has been satisfying. At the end of each lesson, delivery of the challenge and review of the solution, I wanted to continue to the next lesson because, in each of these steps, Matt taught us information that I did not know and tips that in my case allowed me to understand much better how to improve the User interaction with the websites. I look forward to the next course.
Truthfully, I never thought I would one day learn how to code, let alone learn how to work with multiple languages synchronized together. It's been a great experience making my own portfolio website with SheCodes Responsive Workshop. I really like the way Matt explains on how a developer find solutions to the challenges that comes while developing a website from his own industry experience. In this workshop I worked on responsive design making using media queries, Bootstrap, CSS best techniques and Figma tool for designing. Feeling proud after developing my responsive portfolio website and super pumped up to create more projects with responsive design.
