I enjoyed the other SheCodes workshops (Basic and Plus), but the React workshop was very disappointing. The help from the SheCodes Slack channel was pretty apathetic - my questions and the questions of other students were often "answered" with really short and thoughtless responses that made it clear that the team was not actually looking very closely at our issues. At the time of writing this testimonial, React is on version 18, but Matt is teaching version 16 after making a big to-do about always teaching us the latest version. The changes between the two aren't that significant, but they were significant enough that it made completing challenges more difficult than they should have been. I am also appalled at how often I have heard "just Google it" during this course. I paid to learn React, have someone walk me through the terminology, and follow a step-by-step guide, NOT to read forum after forum of coding jargon I don't understand. It was also very disheartening to have to complete a weather application YET AGAIN after going through it once (or twice, if you count the last two weeks of the program) in the Plus course. All in all, I did learn about React during this course, but I feel completely unprepared to tackle it in any scenario outside of a weather app.
This is amazing!!! A couple of months ago, I had a vague idea about programming. Now I can make the site the way I want. Coding is a very exciting process! I am very grateful to Matt Delac and his team for the opportunity to receive this necessary and useful knowledge.

React has been really interesting to dive in, and we can also take the chance to improve the weather app we did from the Plus workshop! Always a pleasure to be learning from Matt and seeing how he is also learning together with us during the videos, and debugging issues we encounter at the same time. I also appreciate the SheCodes team checking and following up with us on Slack to see how we are progressing at times as well. As a total beginner, I found it surprisingly easy to understand. Matt explained every subject clear and by doing challenges every now and then you are learning by doing! I still have a long way to go, but until now im super happy with how its going!
Dear SHECODES This is an amzing platform for a beginner to learn coding. It was definetly an eye opener course for me to learn coding.Being an non comptuter person I had many confusions in my head that if I would be able to follow this course or I would end up in withdrawing from the course in half way, but Thank you so much to the teacher Matt Dellac you are an amzing teacher. Knowing how to make a responsive website is incredibly useful as the world uses their mobile devices more and more. Matt does a fantastic job showcasing how to make websites responsive and does it in a very easy-to-follow way.
Good introduction to React. It can be challenging to understand this new syntax. Matt does a nice job helping us become familiarized with it.
Nice and simple little project. I enjoyed working on the project and I learned some new things this week. I really like how Matt explains different techniques, he is not just showing you how he codes but he explains the logic behind it.

I did a lot of research on tech courses before doing the SheCodes workshop and I am glad I choose it! Matt makes it pleasant to learn how to code on your own time. I can first hand 100% recommend Shecodes to anyone looking forward to be a great developer but has no prior knowledge. I have been to several online coding programs but have not succeeded in completing any and this is because they’re not beginners’ friendly like most of them usually claim. I cannot stress enough how helpful Shecodes has helped me to explore something that I always thought I wasn’t smart enough to do. I've been curious about coding for quite some time but was too afraid to try it because a lot of the online boot camps offered online can be quite pricey. Although there are some that offer you the option of paying after getting a job, the price will usually still be in the upper thousands. I found SheCodes which has different workshop options and even offer discounts. I decided to take the risk and try it. So far, it's been very fun and enjoyable! The instructor, Matt, does a great job at teaching!
This is the perfect addition after learning the basics! I enjoyed learning about transform and how to make a light/dark theme webpage. This workshop has also inspired some new ideas that I'd like to add to my previous projects. As always, thank you Matt ⚡Looking forward to learning more!

This last workshop (React) was a tough one. But when you get the hang of it, it becomes a lot of fun. I would definetly recommend SheCodes, because it gives you a great roadmap to learn pretty advanced techniques. I have learned a lot and had fun while doing it. Personally, I find SheCodes React was the most challenging lesson especially the Dictionary App Project. But, the beauty in this is that there's always a room for learning and improving your skills. I always feel motivated to find the solutions for each challenges given in the lessons and aim to provide a creative and user-friendly app . I studied computer science in college about two years ago but eventually dropped the classes because I felt I couldn't understand or keep up with the materials. I must say that the Basic's coding workshop is extremely beginner friendly, efficient, and affordable. Before I almost gave up completely with being able to learn how to code and move forward into tech but now, I have my confidence back!
