The introduction to coding workshop was very exciting and it was pretty awesome. I was able to learn the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in a short amount of time. Matt made it easy to understand and the lessons were well-organized and easy to follow. I liked that it had hands-on challenges as well as projects so I could really get a feel for what I was learning. I highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn about web development. :) I am super ready for next step in my coding journey!

As a person working in health care, the world of programming has always seemed very mysterious and intimidating to me, but this course has really made it interesting and enjoyable. The tools and resources SheCodes provides are super helpful and the lessons are clear and thorough. Also, the community that SheCodes team has built is wonderful, everyone is very supportive and cooperative. I would definitely recommend the Basics course if you want to get acquainted with coding in a fun and easily digestible way.

This was my second SheCodes workshop, and it was undoubtedly more challenging. It was frustrating and FUN! Coding is a great problem-solving exercise. The best part is figuring things out and knowing that your solution is one of the many correct ones. I would give the workshop a 5/5, but some lessons needed to address the challenges adequately. It would have helped to provide resources on those aspects in the notes and not just suddenly reveal them in the challenge solution. Overall, SheCodes Plus is worth it. Thank you to everyone at SheCodes for an enriching experience.

Great, explained a lot in regular terms that weren't overly complicated.
Easy to follow along instructions that built week on week. It's so fun to to see the result of your work come together in a website you've built from scratch at the end. I feel so much more knowledgeable about coding in just 3 weeks and I hope to move on to the Plus course soon.

I never considered coding, I've been in the healthcare field for 8 years. Since COVID it's been tough, and I was at a point where I wanted to do something, but I wasn't sure what. I came across an ad on Facebook for SheCodes. I thought "why not check it out?". I originally believed it was all about math, but was I wrong. After the introduction session, I signed up right away with SheCodes Basics, just to get my foot in the door and see what it was all about. Matt made it easy to follow along with the videos and the fact that even though after you submit you are given the solution, there's no one way to solve it. Knowing this, it made it all the better to not feel as if there's only ONE right way to do something. I've genuinely enjoyed myself so far and considering going back to school to turn this into a possible career for myself!
Believe it or not, I was skeptical (at first). I did not envision this introductory coding workshop to be THIS fun! I really enjoyed it from beginning to end! 10/10! π Not only did they reinforce what were taught during the lessons, the weekly challenges and final project allowed for creativity, and actually motivated me to enjoy the coding experience even more! Slack was amazing as well! As someone with limited coding skills, these hands-on lessons gave me the confidence, now, coding in HTML/CSS/JavaScript and not scare me away! With this course I was able to get a grasp of all the things that can be done with basic HTML, CSS and Javascript. That alone is amazing!

It was a great opportunity to learn what coding is all about. It's not scary as I thought. SheCodes stood out from other online coding classes because of scheduled weekly classes, mini projects and deadlines. It forced myself to study even after work and I was proud of it. The work load was doable despite having a full time job. I would recommend the course to any beginners.
I came into the course with absolutely no knowledge or experience of coding. The first week was a bit overwhelming (as Matt predicted), but I am amazed by how much I learned and how much I was able to accomplish (through a lot of trial and error) in three weeks. The course is very well-organized, and the support of the SheCodes team very timely and effective. Initially, I did not believe that I would experience coding as a creative process. I was wrong.
I never imagined I would be able to code the way I can now that I finished the course! I can't wait to keep learning more and hopefully start a career in the field. I love the methodology from SheCodes because it made me learn so much without even noticing it, everything is so simple, it's really surprising.
This is one place where you actually learn something !!! Kudos to SheCodes
This course really tested my analytical abilities. It took me quite a while to catch on during the Week 1 activities, and I was significantly frustrated by how slow I was at completing the tasks. Week 2 was much more enjoyable as I became more familiar with the process and with the coding languages. The final project was a lot of fun, as well as a lot of back-and-forth of tweaking things to get them to where I was satisfied with the end result. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in understanding how webpages are constructed, and the creative possibilities this training can open up for you.

I enjoyed the course. Even though I knew a bit of coding basics, the workshop helped me consolidate some basics and helped me learn even more. I really enjoyed the colorful website (keeps me motivated), the tools that came with it, and the challenges that we have to complete each week, which make it easier and fun to learn.
This was a really great add on to the SheCodes Basics course. Bite sized videos and challenges make this really doable even while working full time and volunteering. Can't wait to start my next course with SheCodes!
Over the last few years, I have been looking into new avenues to change my career path. I have always been fascinated with how websites are designed, or the required formulas to make them work. After years of thinking I would never be able to attempt to learn how they worked, I finally decided to try and understand. I never thought that I would fall in love with programming, but over the course of the Basic Workshop, I found myself wanting to spend learn more and more every day.
I like the work at your own pace style and the short videos. I find that I am more likely to watch and listen to an entire video if it's no more than 15 minutes long. I also find the challenges after each video super helpful with understanding and remembering the codes. It is a great beginner course for anyone at any level.
Really enjoyed learning more about the functionality of JS and how to develop a project. Looking forward to learning more!

I loved how straight forward and interactive this workshop was! I'm impressed with the way Matt was able to break down each coding language in a very simplistic way. I enjoyed all of the assignments and the accountability of having to submit the homework for each lesson. As a mom, I appreciated the flexibility of going at your own pace because life does get busy but having graceful deadlines definitely makes things a lot more stress-free. I had been interested in learning how to code for a while but didn't know how to get started as a complete beginner. The SheCodes Basic lessons were easy to follow and helped me to gain a great understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I am looking forward to applying the knowledge learned in this course as I continue my career as a designer and marketer!
This was a great add-on to the basics course. I learned new tips and tricks when it comes to grids, animation, and dark themes.
The SheCodes Plus Workshop has been great in building my confidence up with coding. With Matt's teaching methods, I was able to finally understand JavaScript a bit more. I liked that it was explained what each line of code was doing. Matt's teaching was very thorough and seemed to anticipate any questions you might have!
It was a bit trickier than I was expecting. I enjoyed learning the coding but was looking for more details on API use. I work for a tech company (customer support) and was looking for a better understanding of this. However, learning how to code is definitely a great addition to my skill set.
The step-by-step approach is clear and easy to follow, by the end of each class you've gained a basic understanding of each concept and then are able to try and apply those concepts yourself. Looking forward to the next workshop!

This one was challenging to say the least! But going through this project really got me to understand the importance of CSS grids and how they show up on mobile and desktop. What I learnt from this course I apply at my job when I am working with developers. SheCodes has made me a more technical UX designer as I learn front end development as well. I am able to discuss CSS changes with developers and provide technical feedback now all because of this lovely online school and community! SheCodes has not only made me a better developer, but a better Designer and people in my life have noticed! I would HIGHLY recommend SheCodes Responsive to any designer looking to get into coding because it is by far the most relevant course for designers I have ever seen. Even if they wont write a string of code at work, certainly knowing how to read it is important when working to build out a new feature or project and your coworkers will totally appreciate that you can design AND understand how they do what they do! It also is such a grounding experience has now you will understand how your design gets made so you can apply technical knowledge and know what can be feasibly made!
