I was looking for a course that fits my criteria more than 1 year and now I have 0 regrets and even my 1st tiny web-site after only 2 weeks of studying! The workshop was easy to follow and gave me a good rundown on the basics of coding. I got to have a taste of it and it left me craving for more. I ran into some non-technical issues and the SheCodes team was very accommodating; allowing extensions until I could resolve my situation. Overall, I really enjoyed SheCodes. I hope to be able to use my newfound skill and to learn more in the future
Good experience and overview of things
The way the class is built is just perfeeeect! πIt's super easy to follow and to understand in a short amount of time (actually, a lot less than I thought it would take!). πThe classes are divided into bite sized videos, never too long, never boring, just straight to the point. πThe comprehension of the given material is helped (a lot) by the mandatory (and short) exercices. πThe fact that you have to send the exercises after each important class and that you have βspecific datesβ to give them back, makes me feel accountable for my own progress. πAlso, the flexibility of the curriculum make the workshops a lot more fun (for me at least!) because there is no pressure at all. Cannot wait to continue to the next workshops. π€
I am a SAP HCM consultant and for some time now I have been feeling stagnant in my area of work, like my work is a bit redundant and not as challenging. For this reason I decided to switch my career and start learning front end web dev. After finishing my SheCodes basic project I feel confident about my decision to switch my career and am looking forward to my next lessons and projects.
SheCodes Basics is an excellent introductory program to coding for beginners; concepts were thoughtfully laid out and explained well. A lot of information is provided in this course without having to make a substantial time or cost commitment.
I came to SheCodes because I wanted to learn coding, it was something I've always wanted to learn and SheCodes made it fun. I understand way more than I did before and now I'm going to use this knowledge to keep learning. I'm super happy that I've taken the basic's course.

I was looking for a way to kick start my learning and career switch journey into tech and I honestly didn't know what to expect when signing up for SheCodes. I was pleasantly surprised by the interface that's easy to navigate. The course curriculums are well broken down into digestible parts which makes learning to code much easier and more engaging! Definitely excited to continue my learning journey here and see where it takes me!

It's a great introductory course that provides just the right amount of hands-on opportunities. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to get into coding but doesn't know where to start.
I had wanted to learn to code years ago, but life took a different turn. Now, 16 years later, I'm finally doing it thanks to this really great workshop! Although it might sound a bit intimidating to learn to code a landing page with HTML, CSS, and Java Script in just 3 weeks, its actually not bad at all. The lessons are bite size and well explained. The slack help community is also definitely a bonus, as I had a couple questions that were easily answered in there. Overall, the format is engaging and motivating without being too demanding or stressful. I'm looking forward to the rest of the workshops :)

Good course. Since I wanted to learn to code for the longest time I was really happy to have found SheCodes. I was motivated sometime frustrated but did my best and finish the SheCodes Basics. If you are thinking about it just do it!

This is a very cool workshop. I highly recommend it and I most definitely will continue on to the next SheCodes workshop. The lessons are very well structured and Matt is a very good instructor. I took an HTML course a while back but I was rusty because I hadn't used it in years. Now that has changed and all I can say is that re-learning HTML, CSS, and JS has been very enjoyable and it will certainly be of value to my career.
SheCodes Basic provided me with an understanding of basic code principles. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease and straightforwardness of the instructions. The project-based approach promotes active learning and not just simple memorization. I would certainly recommend this workshop to people who want to learn the basic principles of coding at their own pace.

I really enjoyed learning the basics with this workshop. I had been trying to learn on my own for a while but it was very difficult to keep disciplined. This workshop really helps you keep on track on your studying and practicing, and the lessons make it really easy to understand everything.

SheCodes is the best choice I ever made in my life. I'm currently a data science student and wanted to improve my coding skills and here I am. Thanks to Matt's team and his teaching skills, I was able to learn programming quicker than I would have ever thought.

I really didn't know anything about what "tech" is and essentially didn't know what coding was until this workshop, and now in just three weeks I feel like I have a solid foundation to base my future knowledge upon. The way Matt breaks down the content really helped my understanding and helped me gain confidence to begin coding and allowed me to realize it is actually fun! Now I know this is something I want to continue pursuing. Based on how much I learned, the flexibility of the course, and the cost, I would highly recommend this program for beginners!

In truth, I initially enrolled in the course (SheCodes Basics) with a lot of skepticism about the capacity for an asynchronous, online course platform to be able to teach me something functional, as well as any sort of prospective for me to be able to take this new skill and make something out of it (and even potentially branching out into a new/evolved career). While I know I still have loads to learn, knowing that coding is a growing language that even experts who have been doing so for years still study and work on to improve their skills/language, I have become hopeful that this is, indeed, a field that I can actually get into, and continue to learn, expand, and explore rather than feel "stuck" in. Matt is a phenomenal teacher. I loved the way the learning platform was designed and each activity was scaffolded and chunked into smaller bits and gradually building up to a bigger project. I also loved how the final project allowed us to create what we were passionate about. (I definitely spent way too much time - WAY more than necessary ;) - to make every detail and design the way I wanted: with both information and knowledge gained from Matt's lessons, as well as searching on google on my own for things I actually wanted more of). After doing my final project and recognizing all the more that I could learn, I have decided to continue to learn, and maybe delve into some of the other advanced workshops offered through the program. Thanks so much, Matt, and everyone else on the team!
Short concise videos, by a benevolent instructor. Recommend if you have time to absorb new material at a fast pace. He allows his students to think for themselves and use the search engine of their choice to become resourceful in finding their answers to their questions. I didn't need to use the Slack chat because everything was well explained underneath the lesson video or in the solutions. Thank you, good luck out there to everyone!

I really enjoyed working my way through this course! Developing each project felt increasingly satisfying, and I felt like I always had support and the tools that I needed to succeed. I really appreciated the flexibility (especially the option to take a deadline extension with no questions asked) and I am excited to continue to learn more coding!

SheCodes is the first web development course I decided to take because I always wanted to learn how to build my own website. I really loved how the course was structured and how it motivated me to submit a homework every week and how it connected me with so many women, like me, learning how to code. Moreover, I loved Matt's way of explaining the course materials and I appreciated how he took his time to dissect difficult concepts. I truly enjoyed taking this course and I would definitely recommend it to every women wanting to learn more about web development and computer languages in general. We do need more women in STEM and SheCodes is helping us just do that :)

After taking the beginner level 3 week program, I learned a lot about CSS, HTML, and Javascript. My page turned out nice and I was able to complete it easily!
I realy enjoyd what i've learned in this workshop. I've been taking computer science classes in university for 2 years, but somehow we never did HTML, CSS. I found that a little frustrating beacause everybody else seemed to know that. Anyway this workshop was great, taught me something that i did not know, and other that i did know. SheCodes has blown all of my expectations out of the water! As someone who has never coded a day in her life, I found the lessons to be straightforward and easy to follow along. The challenges and homework really helped me to cement my knowledge and to build upon each new concept. Furthermore, the deadlines helped me to stay on track with my coding lessons by providing structure to my already busy life. A huge thank you to Matt (who is an amazing instructor by the way) for creating SheCodes and for allowing women to have a chance at breaking into the tech industry! I really enjoyed this class because the lessons were short, clear and useful. I understood what I was taught and was able to remember elements while writing code. I appreciate that there are homework lessons and practices so you do not get lost. Many lessons and concepts were refreshed effectively.

This course is a great beginners course for people wanting to dabble in HTML and CSS while getting a small taste of JavaScript. The lessons are broken down in easily digestible bits of information and the slack channel is always incredibly helpful when you get stuck. So grateful for what this course taught me and I'm excited to move forward and see what the next courses bring.
I think this could be a good start for beginners who have never coded before. For me, it was a good refresher. I enjoyed the JavaScript side a lot more since that was new for me.
Took this on a whim, but soon realized how much fun this was! If you're thinking about it, do it!

This is a great programme for beginners like me with almost zero knowledge about coding. It gives you a great base. You learn the most important things in such simple language; once you try out what you've learned and find out that it works, you're encouraged to keep going. I recommend it without reserve.

Over the last 3 weeks I have learned so much about the foundations of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The short videos with challenges right after allowed me to apply what I just learnt while moving at a pace that worked for me to let everything really sink in. I found coding very intimidating before, but now I'm excited to continue learning about more complex topics!
SheCodes Plus workshop is amazing. JavaScript can be intimidating however, Matt does a good job of explaining the logic of writing code. The videos are easy to follow. I would highly recommend.

AMAZING!!! Matt is a really talented teacher. I started my coding journey with SheCodes basic, fell in love with coding, and decided to make a career shift. I then enrolled in a university bootcamp (BIG mistake) and I dropped out because the tutors were not as talented in explaining the material as Matt and the curriculum was rushed and unorganized, I then decided to sign up for SheCodes Pro and I could immediately notice the difference! I am telling you if you enjoyed your SheCodes basic course, go for it and invest in the SheCodesPro, it is worth every penny! Organized material, an immersive curriculum, fun and engaging challenges, and a super supportive team!
I absolutely and highly recommend this workshop for learning the basics. Near the end of the workshop, I got excited knowing this is where the creativity comes to play. I don't know my limitations when it comes to web development and coding, but what I've gained from this experience is that I became expressive and felt the freedom in my creativity and I can't wait for the next workshops and to challenge myself further.
