This has been such a fun experience. I love getting so deep into learning and coding, that the time goes by so fast. I can spend all day doing this! Matt has also been such a great teacher and he makes everything so easy to learn.
What an incredible experience! I knew very little about coding before I started SheCode Basics, but that wasn't a problem. Matt does an incredible job of breaking things down and explaining them in easy bite-sized videos so that you can learn slowly without getting overwhelmed. I loved every second of it and it was a HUGE confidence booster! I can't wait to continue on my coding journey.

I found the lessons easy to follow and the challenges were my favourite part. It's easy to learn quickly when you implement what you've been taught immediately after learning it.
Lectures are well-organized and easy to follow. Every problem I had in homework, challenges and my own project can be solved with the help of the lectures. The operation interface is simple and clear. This system is able to motivate me to learn and fall in love with coding.
I started this course as a complete beginner over the winter break since I had always been so curious about learning to code : at first, I was worried about whether I'll be able to complete this course and get my certificate, but I did it! We really did take baby steps in the beginning and Matt is a particularly good teacher :) It was challenging at times but I'm so grateful for all the knowledge and technical skills I've acquired during those 3 weeks (and for the support that I got from the SheCodes team when I was stuck). Overall, I'd say it was worth the price!
After ignoring many adverts for SheCodes throughout the past year, I'm glad that I finally decided to give this course a chance. With challenges along the way, I made it through! Many "aha" moments! I wish someone had told me earlier how much joy there is in coding! It is like learning a new language and doing magic. I was able to start from a foggy memory of changing the colour of my MySpace to confidently creating my own (very basic) webpage. The format of having a challenge to accompany each video is instrumental for learning as it chunks information and checks for understanding. I can't stop bragging to everyone I know about my new skills!

As a visual learner, these video lessons have been a life saver! I really grasped what was being taught. I had tried other platforms that were not video based and felt extremely lost. Being able to see someone work through the problem, and do it with them in real time has been the game changer for me. I started this with the intention of trying something new. I'll be honest, I didn't think I'd come out of this retaining much as I thought I was way in over my head to be diving into a concept like coding. I am so glad I did. The support is there (students help each other too), the instruction is very clear and so far, even though -like anything- it does take quite a bit of practice, coding itself is pretty straight forward. I am really happy I came across SheCodes and decided to take the leap. Super excited for the next workshops!

It's helped me improve my HTML/CSS skills. I used to take a course at school but did not do well because they didn't cover the basics like this SheCodes workshop did. I feel like I would have done much better in the course if I had taken SheCodes workshop back then, but I'm still happy with the results of having improved my skills in this area.

SheCodes is a great introductory program into the world of coding. I had a lot of funny learning interesting coding techniques and looked forward to learning some more.
I had tried to teach myself html, CSS, and JavaScript before, and though free courses have all the right info, SheCodes showed everything in an order that made sense, with real live examples that made it so much easier to understand and remember!
After completing the 3-week program with SheCodes I felt like I had been missing out on not learning more, and now that I have finished the 8 weeks I feel ready to tackle projects on my own. So glad to have found this resource!
This workshop was absolutely amazing! I was surprised with how quickly and easily I was able to learn the basics of coding. Matt's lessons are clear and very easy to follow, and completing the challenges at the end of the lessons really made me understand how everything works. I was interested in taking the course after attending the free workshop. I enjoyed the teaching style and structure of the course. I was familiar with basic HTML and some CSS. After taking the course I feel a lot more confident about using the Chrome Developer Tools, reading front end code, using Visual Studio Code and coding websites in HTML, CSS and basic Javascript. I am already seeing a difference at work. This course has made me a better Product Owner.
Learning the basics of coding was incredibly easy with SheCodes! I love how the courses are structured with challenges to do every step along the way and the deadlines also help to keep myself motivated (I have ADHD so this is actually really important for people like me). I train customer service reps in the financial sector and I feel like this method of learning should be applied everywhere as it's incredibly effective. I'm excited for SheCodes Plus! π
I'm not going to lie this was very difficult and frustrating for me but I did enjoy doing the final project. Learning HTML, CSS and especially JavaScript was way harder then I expected. I honestly can't wait tell it's over. It's not going to over soon because I paid for React. Should have started small, my own fault.

It is often interpreted that to code, you need to go into a specific field, or you need to be good in math, but that is not true! I am not studying any coding-related degree or am not good at math. I came across SheCodes and I thought that I wanted to learn to code because it is a good skill to have, and I should give it a try. I am so happy that I made that choice and from the comfort of my home, got to learn how to code, and understand everything. I am so grateful for Matt, and all the technical support staff at SheCodes to make SheCodes a place to empower women from across the globe to learn coding and to use it in their career and life.
I am currently finishing a Non-tech Baccalaureate and heard about SheCodes through Instagram. The hands-on experience and testimonials from the website are with basis and accurate. It is very easy to lose track of time while completing challenges because it is interactively fun, hence my sleepless nights. One of the few sleepless nights where you wake up fulfilled and satisfyingly productive.

I signed up for basic 3 week course. It's definitely doable when working full time job if you do 1 hour a day for 5 days a week and spend one of the days in weekends doing the homework assignment. It was a good learning experience for me :)
SheCodes is a fun and easy to understand workshop that has absolutely rekindled my excitement for coding! I took classes many moons ago in high school but never pursued it after, and I forgot how much I enjoy it. The courses use easy to follow videos and many good analogies that help make coding languages make sense. I'm so excited to do this as a career!
Whenever I needed help it was provided in a few hours. Taught basics which then allowed for expanding on the topics by research on my own time. I had a great time in this course.

Wow it is pretty incredible to have just produced a fully operational weather app that pulls live data in only 8 weeks of learning! I thoroughly enjoy this course. It had the prefect balance between challenge and having good support so I didn't get stuck on anything for very long. It really helped me to keep going and learn how to push through the hard parts. I feel like a real coder now and my dream of becoming a front end developer feels possible.

Hi, My name is Katherine,I dev for more than one years but I never follow program like this.I have 23 years Old my main language is french (quebec) and my second one is english. Why SheCodes? I wanted to change of carrier to focus more on development side.For the one don't know this side,I am in this moment electrician 40h per years and in my lost time I do networking/dev/programming server, website and more... But what I really want is this: βI wanted to learn more about talks between techies and understand what is behind certain technologies.β I will continue to learn on SheCodes to get more skill :)

I enjoyed this course. It was a really great introduction to the world of coding and I enjoyed Matt's style of presenting information. The challenges after each lesson were a great way to practice what you were just shown. And the final project really wraps all the lessons into one final piece. SheCodes Plus was really challenging, but so enjoyable. It felt great to build on everything from SheCodes Basics, and to gain a much better understanding of what goes into the websites and applications we use on a daily basis.
I always thought coding was only for super tech-savy people. But when Matt explained that coding does not necessarily mean you need to be a super tech person, or even able to install your family'a printer at home, I am became brave enough to try my fist lesson. Interestingly, it turns out to be so fun! It helps me regulate my thoughts and emotions. The feeling of building something from scratch into a clickable website is so satisfying. The open sources are also very accessible, so you can learn a lot daily.
Great workshop overall! SEO portion was kind of small, only a few tips. still very useful but I thought there would've been more. Also, I would suggest doing this one before learning React. It would follow the previous one better and once you learn React you're doing things completely differently.
