I really enjoyed this beginners workshop. It has just the right amount of information for someone who does not have any foundation with coding. I learned a lot and I am excited to keep practicing and achieving more on my coding journey.

I really enjoyed doing this beginner course! This is the first time I have taken a coding class and I found it was a good balance between instruction and challenges. I think I have a good grasp of this course after taking it, and felt the instructions by Matt were clear. I am excited to see where this leads me!

I always hesitated to even start coding but SheCodes motivated me to explore JSS, CS and HTML. I had fun watching and learning from Matt's videos and applying my knowledge right after.

I've learned HTML and some CSS and no JavaScript at all prior. I signed up for this workshop as a way to dip my feet into web development with the ultimate aim of switching careers into tech. The workshop structure made it easy to learn the basic introductory concepts for each of the three programming languages. The short video lessons (with supplemental documentation) taught the concepts in small manageable chunks. The lesson challenge exercises, solution thereafter, weekly assignment, and finally the project force you apply the concepts all the while keeping you accountable so you start AND finish the workshop. Great workshop on the basics. I enjoyed it. Thank you Matt and the SheCodes team!

Really nice workshop. I researched for some options and asked for advice before choosing it, and it seemed like the best one if you want to have some human feedback at a reasonable price. And it didn't disappoint :)

Matt is an excellent instructor, and his lessons are easy to follow along and troubleshoot through this online platform. The SheCodes team is happy to help, easy to contact, and quick to respond. Despite being an online/virtual classroom, I thought the material, format, and homework assignments were effective: you'll build upon lessons learned while discovering that there are different paths to the same solution. If you're just a little curious about coding, the SheCodes:Basic workshop is the perfect amount of time and commitment. You'll be surprised at you accomplish in just three weeks!

I loved every minute of SheCodes Basics! I gained a ton of new skills and knowledge, and strengthened my previous coding foundation. I would definitely recommend this course for anyone interested in learning more about HTML, Editor, JavaScript, and CSS!

I had programming on my list of things to do for our a long time. Finally, I took the time to purchase some courses through SheCodes.The courses were well-paced and really easy to understand and run through. I can wait to move on to the more advanced course now.

I would highly recommend SheCodes to anyone looking for more technical fluency or to advance their skills. The classes were structured in bite-sized chunks, so you can focus on the content without being overwhelmed by too much information. The timelines were reasonable and kept me progressing through the program. This was especially impressive as most on-demand, online coding bootcamps have low completion rates.

Not knowing anything about coding I was curious and a bit apprehensive to get started on this workshop. However once I did I found the lessons were easy to follow and pretty fun. Although it was sometimes frustrating figuring out some of the challenges, I was introduced to many new resources to help make my code more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. I am glad that I finally took the first step and signed up to learn coding basics at SheCodes.

SheCodes makes you accountable for learning each week. I found it much more effective than the free resources online. Courses are short and easy to follow. Homework was also clearly defined and slack support abundant if you have questions. Pleasantly surprised at how much I retained. Looking forward to the next sessions. Highly recommend!!

Good course for beginners.

Amazing! I wasn't sure if id ever learn how to code it always looked like gibberish. with this workshop it was easy to follow along and learn at your own pace. 10 out of 10 amazing!

Because I work as a graphic designer and never learned to code in school I often found it difficult to understand and talk to developers. I wanted to learn how to actually bring my designs to life on the web but had no clue where to start. Matt broke it down very easily and the videos allowed me the freedom to learn at my own pace. What started off as a bit of a daunting "work chore" turned into something really fun! I definitely want to continue to code now!

This program was extremely challenging, but I feel as though I have gained a lot of valuable skills during this 8 week program.

This is a great beginner workshop for learning how to code. Each lesson has a good amount of information to be challenging but not overwhelming. I would love to learn more about coding now that I've completed this workshop, so I can create more interactive websites and systems.

SheCodes Basic is an amazing course! I learned so much in 3 weeks, and I can't wait to take SheCodes Pro and level up my coding skills even more! I'm an absolute beginner and I've tried to learn to code through other programs online and failed everytime...until I found SheCodes! The Basics Workshop was so much fun and Matt was a great instructor. The videos were super helpful and the weekly homework was challenging but not discouraging. Amazing learning experience!

SheCodes has been a challenging but fun experience. I never thought coding could be fun! I loved the challenges after each video because it allowed me to apply what I had just learned right away. This made it that much easier to retain the content. The clear video content, additional resources and tips along the way really helped me in completing the final project. I am looking forward to elevating what I have learned in the next workshop.

Throughout this workshop, I've realized that I've had a lot of misconceptions about the world of coding that have held me back from entering it. Now that I have given it a try through SheCodes, I've been amazed at how it gives me creative freedom and room for both logical and imaginative work. I'm looking forward to the rest of my SheCodes journey as I continue learning in the SheCodes Plus, Responsive, and React workshops!!

Great workshop and I especially enjoyed the final project, applying all the elements I've learned. The only caveat is that you need to plan on spending more than 5 hours a week, especially during the first week as there is a lot of material to go through. I had no previous coding knowledge so did spend a lot of time trying to figure out why the code was not working but help on Slack was really great.

Although I already work with websites and know a little CSS, I learned so much in this program and am very grateful. It was presented in an easy to understand method and I appreciated being able to work through all exercises as quickly as I needed. I'm already applying what I learned every day. My skills have dramatically increased and I'm so excited to be able to code websites now!

I am happy that I decided to take on this opportunity when it popped up on Instagram feed as I have built on some new skills. The team helping the students along the way are quick and supportive. 😄

I absolutely loved this class! I learned so much and it was a great way to prepare myself for university classes so that I am comfortable with the programs before hand.

I am a beginner to coding and I found the lessons easy to follow. I LOVE that the lessons are short and to the point and definitely not dry and boring at all! I enjoy the challenges at the end of each lesson to reinforce the learning and in addition, Matt will challenge you to do a little bit of research on your own. I'm having fun with coding and can't wait to start SheCodes Plus!

I decided to take the SheCodes workshops because I was hoping to have a better understanding of how to read code. The coding language used at work is not so much HTML, CSS, or JS, but the principles taught in the SheCodes Basics workshop actually filled in SO many gaps I had at work! I'm really impressed how efficiently Matt teaches; he covers the basis step-by-step, but doesn't add frills to his lessons. It's direct and to the point and I felt there was no time wasted. The weekly deadlines were very reasonable too considering I work overtime most weeks. I'm really looking forward to how many more skills I will acquire in the SheCodes Plus workshops.

I have always been interested and curious about the world of programming and the concept of coding. One day, after coming across SheCodes I decided to sign up for the online live intro class. It was a great experience, straight to the point. The challenges after each lesson kept the lessons fresh in my memory. I always looked forward to the assignment each week, because of the feeling of accomplishment when you get it done.

My experience in SheCodes Basics has been great! Not only have I learned the basics of two mark-up languages (HTML and CSS) and one programming language (JavaScript), but I also feel motivated to delve deeper into the coding world and learn other programming languages that are used for scientific research. Because of this course, I feel more well-versed in coding than I did before, I feel confident applying to positions with some coding experience and a certificate, and I have realized that anyone who is a blank slate when it comes to coding can actually learn how to code. This was a great experience. It's so easy to acclimate to the format and exercise-based method of learning; I finished the workshop despite cognitive difficulties due to a previous brain injury. That's really amazing to me because I tried learning JavaScript from other sources several times before my injury and still didn't understand it until I took this workshop.

I really enjoyed this course. It was easy to follow along and the assignments were fun. I thought coding would be an overwhelming skill to learn but this course made me realize how fun it can be.

I really enjoyed this workshop. The knowledge that I have gained will be helpful in furthering my career as a Master Files Analyst.

It was a great experience for me to learn coding as a total beginner. The instructor made it really easy to follow along. and also the challenges for each lesson allows me to practice what I learned, which I find really helpful in terms of me learning to code.

SheCodes Basics was FUN! The lessons were easy to follow, and I enjoyed that I could work at my own pace. Honestly, I found that coding wasn't hard to learn!
