I have learned a ton and Matt was a very good instructor. I am considering completing the entire course...I also found his tips on where to search, recommendations for different programs, etc., very helpful.
I'm absolutely amazed at this course!! I can't believe that I learned basic coding and I'm really proud of myself for learning a new skill set. It was easy to keep up and understand the lessons. I could always rewind back and review whenever I wanted. I love how Matt provided walkthroughs on the solution. My family and friends are really impressed with what I was able to create in 3wks of doing this course. When I showed my 8yr old what I created he was really blown away. He's taking a coding course as well, and I think this just gave him the motivation, that you're able to accomplish anything if you put in time and dedication to it. I'll definitely look into taking an upgraded course for sure!

I liked how you could schedule your own hours to complete the course. After each lesson there was an exercise to challenge what you learned. The slack support was helpful as you received an answer quickly from the community or SheCodes staff.
I liked Matt's instructions and the challenges associated with each lesson. His tone, the tips, the support from the team are really on point. I like the fact that all the way through we have to come up with solutions on our own. My only constructive comment would be that sometimes the lessons did not necessarily guide us in the right direction, which can lead to wasting time looking for the right thing to do or searching for the necessary information. Overall, I loved the presentation of the content and the energy of the team and I 100% recommend signing up!
This was a great course! Really helped me understand the basics when I had no previous experience with HTML, CSS or javascript.
From this course, I learnt not only how to code, but I gained great insights and tips on which programs, hosting sites, etc to use - something every beginner venturing into coding would find really useful. It was definitely a challenging course but the challenges and homework really helped me to comprehend things better. I also liked how I can read up other students' questions and problems on the SlackChat and learn further from the replies. Looking forward to starting the React course.

I'm a graphic designer and had basic knowledge of HTML & CSS. I've been interested in coding for a while. After the free intro class, I knew I had to register! Matt explains everything so well, I learned a lot from this workshop and loved how it was divided into manageable sections. The SheCodes community on Slack was great for support. I have enjoyed the course very much and cannot wait to continue. Matt explained all basics very well but left some space to let us find solutions on our own so I could learn how to be able to learn on my own although a few weeks ago I barely knew what programming is about!

A great course for hopeful future coders!
This was a great way to start my journey in front-end development. I've been interested in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but have found it difficult to learn with most online courses. I was pleasantly surprised by the teaching style, which is different from other courses I've tried. Not only was I taught how to write in these languages, but I was actively encouraged to find answers to my own questions and given the tools to do so. I would love to continue into the SheCodes Plus React workshop. My interest and curiosity has been captured! Thank you, SheCodes! 👩💻

I learned a lot in this program, and it gives you a great sense of accomplishment to be able to complete the weekly challenges; however there were a few aspects that, I believe, need to be explained in more detail. Otherwise it is a great course that gives you a in depth sense of what coding is like.

This workshop was amazing and the concepts were taught very well! I now really understand the basics of HTML/CSS and JavaScript. I am a busy university student, so I liked the flexible schedule and that I can complete the workshop in my own time.
In a nutshell I'm sad this course is over! I would have never thought I would say those words about coding. Thanks to Matt, this course was beginner friendly, smooth and super fun to follow. The assigned homework/projects allow you to practice the concepts while being free to have fun and be as creative as you like. Highly recommend :)
Wow I'm amazed at how much I've learned in just 3 weeks, going from zero coding experience to being able to build my very own website with buttons/urls that you can interact with. The course style of SheCodes is great with the small challenges after every lesson to give you tons of practice.
Honestly, I really enjoyed it. the videos were short but very effective. I really enjoyed it, I will come back for other classes.
Before SheCodes I was not confident in my skills or even following tutorial. These classes has been really informational and beneficial to my confidence as a coder.

I really recommend SheCodes workshop, I learned a lot of things and I really enjoyed working on the projets, mostly HTML and CSS, because for me JavaScript was really difficult at the beginning but now it seems easier ! I think I will continue to do things related to code, first by my own but then I'll consider to continue with a SheCodes advanced workshop ! ✨

I originally signed up for the course, because I thought coding would be a useful skill to learn if you want to become a UX designer. However, SheCodes has really sparked my interest in coding as more than a means to an end. Coding is really fun! I enjoyed the lessons and it helps that Matt is a great teacher. I will say this again, shecodes is a fantastic course. There is nothing quite like it. I have taken many coding courses in the past for school and none of them were as fun or effective as shecodes. I highly recommend shecodes for anyone who is interested to learn. Shecodes is very easy to learn, has great support and overall is really fun.
Completing the SheCodes classes have really helped me communicate my UI designs to our dev team. It was super fun to be able to actually see a project through 100% on my own from designing it to coding. Because the class only required a few hours a week, I was able to complete the classes while working a full-time job. I was having so much fun, I ended up putting more time than required anyways! 👏
Matt has a great way of taking big things and breaking them down into something very understandable and not overwhelming at all. Enjoyed learning!
The lessons are broken into bite-sized concepts which makes it easy to focus on small details. If you are prepared to view the videos multiple times and restart your codes, you will acquire precious knowledge that gives you confidence to take on the modern world.
I would highly recommend the SheCodes workshop! This is good if you have never done any coding before, and have always wanted to try it! The lessons are explained very well and if you need help you can always ask on Slack.
SheCodes is a very good platform to learn how to code for beginners. Challenges after the lessons is very helpful way to practise. The teaching method in the videos is great!! First, he shows the basic method and then gradually goes the advance. Very very recommendable for absolut beginners.

I have tried to learn HTML, CSS and Javascript on my own but I struggled. This course has been easy to follow and provided enough depth and structure that I finally got a better understanding. I am now more comfortable in reading the codes within a webpage.
My SheCodes experience so far has been fantastic. It's the perfect mix of challenging, interesting and very well structured. Before SheCodes, I had tried to self teach myself Python several times, however I could never progress very far and I think the main reason is because I didn't have access to a community that supported one another nor a structured lesson plan to learn the concepts thoroughly. The SheCodes experience is well worth all the hard work and you're bound to find something you like about it. 100% recommend this program!
This was a great workshop to take. I'm glad I Had completed it all the way through. I'm saving up to take the next workshop that is 8 weeks long!
It's a very well crafted introductory course to web development. It keeps concepts functionally simple to understand & execute without complicating topics with theoretical details.
I was looking for a new skillset to add to my arsenal and somehow coding just fell on my lap. I started to search for courses online and found the programs quite confusing until I came across this workshop. I love the simple approach and the breakdown of the lessons. The structure makes it very easy to follow and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking for an easy-to-follow online program.

Other bootcamps make coding seem hard and daunting, but Matt does a fantastic job of breaking down the concepts and the logic! Learning about vanilla JavaScript has finally demystified the "complexities". Before this course, I was very confused about how JavaScript worked. I knew that it is incredibly powerful and in fact powered most of the internet or websites. But I just didn't how it worked. This course gave me the wonderful gift of finally understanding and loving JavaScript and having a ton of fun with it. I finally understand that it is a language of functions and you create those functions to bring features to life. And incredibly so, learning JavaScript empowers you in understand other languages as well. It's truly incredible. I was a skeptical at first because my young mind doesn't do well with people telling me exactly what I should be doing and not giving me the freedom of making my own projects or learning on my own. It was a fun experience, especially for someone who has never dipped their hands in coding before. Easy to learn with some challenges along the way which makes you feel really accomplished once you figure them out.
This workshop is an amazing introduction to the coding world! Before starting, I would not have known where to begin. I found that the videos were easy to follow and had a good flow of information. I really enjoyed this course overall! I'm definitely excited to move on to the second workshop 😊

This was a great course, I feel comfortable now reading and playing with the basics of html, css and java. As the head of a communications department I do alot of website updates and work closely with the IT team and this course will empower me to do more work independently on the websites!

Fantastic course. Matt has broken down concepts into bite-sized chunks and demonstrates while he explains concepts, which is great if you are a visual learner. The practical challenges help to quickly solidify each topic and are fun and interesting. I found it was just the right balance of simplicity and complexity in this approach to learning to code. SheCodes taught me a lot about the fundamental pillars of code such as CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. I have been struggling to learn code on my own, but with this workshop it made complete sense! The videos were easy to follow, homework assignments were challenging, and the final project gave us creative freedom. I'll definitely be registering for SheCodes React later this year. 👾 If you're hesitant or debating between SheCodes and another workshop, I highly recommend SheCodes! It was more like a game where you had to "beat each level" before advancing. I'm a visual learner and the way Matt explained everything was perfect. I've always viewed coding as boring or too difficult to wrap my head around it. After taking this workshop I realize how creative and fun coding is! I wasn't expecting much but I found myself really enjoying the short lectures and the challenges. The help from the Slack channel was also super nice because we're a whole community sharing resources and common issues. I found myself really going out in the final project and researching different components I wanted to add. You can say I suprised myself. I'm excited to continue on to the next workshop and learning better ways to code.
Simplified enough and practical when it comes to mastering the native terms and structures of pages to code. This is condensed and very informative. Good thinking process. Highly recommended.

What a journey! I spent many years trying to teach myself how to make a website. I spend countless hours researching how to do this. In the amount of time that I kept trying to make a completely functional site. I became a Financial Educator started building my business from the ground up. I thought I had my life figured out. Once the pandemic hit. Everything changed and I want to embrace that change with all that I have. It's been almost a year now. Thanks to SheCodes the time it took me to learn how to make a site has been so much less. In 3 weeks I'm able to make something functional and beautiful. The skills I have learned could truly take me places while adding to my current career and opportunity is in the air again. I'm excited to continue with the next two courses and I can't wait for what the future has in store for me.

Good for beginners, I loved the extra tools this course shared with us (like Color Hunt, Design Palette, Codepen etc) it helped in building the final project. Over all great structure and easy to follow.
