Shecodes is a very good starting point on coding. It challenges you to dive into coding and shifted the way I think about pursuing new opportunities in the IT world
I come from a financial area and kind of tech friendly, but before the course I could never imagine that my knowledge doing macros in MS Excel (which looks a bit old fashioned in times of artificial intelligence) could be highly connected with JavaScript. The weekend was full of new concepts and the SheCodes methodology allowed Matt and the team challenge us at the same time we had lots of fun.
Coding help me to improve my logic skills, is fun seeing the results and feel the power that all you can do!
Great way to get the fundamentals of programming when you don't have any knowledge of Data Science or related fields. The explanations are clear and deep enough to give you an idea of where you need to go in your own time. The exercises also help you to put into practise all you have learned as you go along as well as the final project!
My boyfriend is a software developer and when he talks... I don't quite understand what he says. Now, at least I have the minimum knowledge about what he does :) It was an interesting and challenging weekend, but it was worth it! Hope I can continue to do small things, in order to remind me of what I've learned.
Since I was born, the world of tech wasn't exactly my thing, but over the years I realized that it could be a lot of fun and interesting. When I found Matt's course I told myself "girl you have to do it". I do not regret my decision and even though it wasn't easy at the beginning, I can see myself doing it in the future! Matt you rock! 😁
In search for a new job, it became so frustrating to come across mostly demand for "front end dev" or "full stack dev", without even understanding what it meant. After these two days, I know now what to focus on to get my foot into the new market. There is still a long way to go but this weekend definitely pointed me in the right direction. Knowledge is very empowering and this experience is a great reminder of just that :-)

I was very excited to do the workshop. I knew it would be a game changer for me, I just didn't know it would be so much. I recommend it to anyone, regardless of whether or not they want to have programming as a profession. Today, it is a necessary skill and every day it will be more. Matt is an excellent teacher, who teaches and inspires!
The 12-hour workshop is very well structured, in a way that not only you can understand the logic but also practice the basics, try new things and learn by doing it. SheCodes was a really good learning experience. Throughout the weekend we learnt the very basics of how to create a webpage and how to make it interactive with the user, by resorting to HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Matt is a great teacher and it's really good to have someone who knows what's being used nowadays and what isn't; and can give you some guidance for your very first steps into the coding world. It's a very hands-on course, where you actually get to put in practice what you learn, instead of just getting your head full of theory. A great workshop for people who are curious about programing. I already had some knowledge of CSS and HTML and it was still a great learning experience. It is fast-paced, and you might find yourself at a loss a couple of times, but Matt is a great teacher and you end up the workshop with great basics.

SheCodes is an amazing workshop! In only 2 days we learnt so much and if before I thought coding was Chinese, now I can google it, understand what is presented and learn so much more!
It has been a great opportunity to start the abc of coding. It had a speed mode equal to 10 energy drinks but it was a great experience and a great challenge... and I loved it! It allowed me to demystify important concepts and understand that coding it's not only to "geeks"!! But if you want it you can do it, it takes a lot of practice, investigation, curiosity and creativity... and to be able to start and stop a puzzle over and over again... Bucket list: "Start coding" --> Check!

I decided to join the SheCodes Workshop because knowing something of coding would help accelerate some processes in my current job and aid the communication with the IT team! I left the workshop convinced that this was the best thing I could have done for my company and myself! The way the workshop is designed is really motivating. You are constantly putting into practice the new learning and getting validation that you can actually make it - it is really empowering! Coding is not a seven-headed monster!

I did not have any experience in programming, and this course really gave me an insight as to what coding is like. I am glad that there were online had challenges and weekly assignments as I felt more challenged and it excited me to be able to put into practice what I had learned in the tutorial videos.I look forward to expanding my coding knowledge in the future.

This course definitely exceeded my expectations! I didn't have any coding background and by the end of the first day I was able to understand basic html and CSS, and at the end of the course I was feeling like a real geek :)! Matt is an excellent teacher, he's able to explain the most complicated Java Script functions in a way that makes these look simple.

A very good way to start in the coding world. For me that never had a chance to work with html, css or javascript, it was rewarding to see how you can learn a lot in only one weekend. I wanted to learn how to code since ever and SheCodes gave me the opportunity to get started. I had no coding experience and in just two days I learned 3 different languages. Were two very intensive days but I also had a lot of fun doing the final project! Matt is the best coding teacher I could have asked for and I highly recommend this workshop!
This was a perfect beginner level workshop, I feel like I learned so much in just one weekend, and front end development is no longer a huge black box for me. Matt is an incredible teacher, I was never lost at any point! Honestly even though it was on the weekend I just wanted it to continue through the night!

It was very interesting as I got totally out of my comfort zone. This was a safe place for asking questions and work a lot with other women from multiple contexts and backgrounds. In the end, we've all entered the same journey and left with new experiences and wanting to learn more.

In a couple of days I learned the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in a very interactive and easy way. The workshop is well structured, everything is taught with examples and then you always have an exercise to practice. Matt is an excellent teacher and is very straightfoward in the way he teaches.I really recommend this workshop if you want to understand better the programming world!!
I did have a little bit of experience with HTML and CSS before but it was still very helpful for me to participate in this workshop, specially because it made me realize how important it is to have this kind of skills nowadays and how much it will probably help me to understand how things actually work. Not meaning that one must become a developer but it is definitely a plus to have some kind of knowledge in this area.

I was already interested in coding and was trying to learn online. Until one day I saw SheCodes in Porto ad and I immediatelly signed up. The workshop was wonderful, Matt is very didactic and caring, his team is always ready to help. This event gave me energy and enthusiasm to invest more in this career.
SheCodes Workshop was a breath of fresh air in my life, something I needed and didn't even know it. I loved this workshop because I feel I REALLY learned in these two days and now I feel able to build something from scratch. I have already recommended it and I will continue to do it. In 2 days I really learned the basics of HTML and CSS to build a Landing Page. It is really important to ensure an output from these kinds of trainings. That is the true value of it, a very high added value to my career as I am in touch with frontend developers and designers everyday.
