Working on my 'AI Daily Challenge Generator' project has been an amazing experience. I wanted to build something that not only pushed my coding skills but also helped others stay motivated to learn new things every day. Integrating the AI API wasnโt easy, but I have learned so much along the way and it really stretched my problem-solving skills. Through this AI generator project, I explored AI tools, strengthened my coding abilities, and learned how to turn a simple idea into a functional project. Iโm really proud of what I was able to create with the step-by-step instructions of the wonderful teacher Matt Delac and I'm very excited that others can now use my daily challenge generator to get inspired too!

I find the work really challenging but also fun. The hours go by so quickly when Iโm coding and trying to debug my code. Sometimes I spend one hour searching, only to discover that a tiny bracket was missing, which meant my line of code wasnโt closed properly and the whole program was broken: nothing was happening. Coding definitely requires patience and an eye for detail. I enjoyed this workshop because we built the clock step by step, and it also reinforced techniques we had used in previous workshops.

Matt does a fantastic job walking students step-by-step through the code and explaining what each step means so you're not just building, you're understanding at a granular level why and what you're doing and how it all comes together.
I have learnt a lot in the course of two weeks, and I have grown both confidence and skill. I love the teaching approach of making sure we become resourceful by engaging on Slack and the internet. I have found many communities dedicated to coders, which have allowed me to push myself past the required because others have had questions that I have, and so many different approaches have been provided.
This was not an easy class, but I still had so much fun.

As a complete beginner in coding, I struggled with Python basics. But the hands-on exercises and the interactive weather app project helped me adapt to the syntax rules and order. By the end of the course, I gained a solid understanding of variables, loops, and functions, which I was able to apply to the final project. At first, coding felt like learning a whole new language from scratch. I struggled with syntax, logic, and especially JavaScript. But with practice and patience, small wins turned into real progress. It's great that we can use the SheCodes APIs, and I've enjoyed building this project a lot, but again, the React workshops are so out-of-date that I've used other resources in an attempt to make a more modern build using Vite and TailwindCSS to practice something new.

I came to SheCodes Basics with a frustrating problem: I could copy and paste code snippets and make things work, but I had no real understanding of why they worked or how to fix them when they broke. I was essentially a code copier, not a programmer. This surface-level approach left me constantly hitting walls. When something didn't work as expected, I'd spend hours trying random solutions from Stack Overflow without understanding the underlying logic. I could build functional pages by piecing together tutorials, but debugging felt like pure guesswork. SheCodes Basics changed that completely. Matt's teaching approach focuses on the "why" behind every concept, not just the "how." Instead of just showing us syntax, he explained the reasoning behind HTML structure, the cascade in CSS, and the logic flow in JavaScript. This foundational understanding was exactly what I'd been missing.Now when I encounter issues, I can methodically identify where things are going wrong instead of randomly trying solutions. I understand the connection between HTML structure and CSS selectors, why JavaScript functions behave certain ways, and how different parts of a webpage interact with each other. Building the tribute website for my Akita Inu, Sakura, became an exercise in applying these debugging skills in real time. This course was very similar to the Basics course, with small variations through adding new css features. It was quite repetetive and a bit slower paced than Basics. However, you still learn many incredibly useful features to use when styling a website. Therefore, I would definitely recommend this!
