When i joined SheCodes i was not really sure which results would i get... but, the truth is that it surprised me a lot! I was proud of what i had learned in only two days and how i was able to apply the knowledge acquired in building my own project! It was a fantastic learning weekend surrounded by all type of women!
I have participated in the SheCodes Workshop and I've really enjoyed the experience. As someone who never coded before, it was an intense weekend and I was uncertain of the results I would get from SheCodes, I got very surprised when in the end I was able to learn some new skills and put them into practice when building my project. Matt is a very good teacher and all the team was amazing! I highly recommend this workshop to women who are interested in developing coding skills.
It all started with my restless curiosity ... curiosity about the coding world. After all, what do developers do on those black screens full of color coding? How can they create so many powerful things from a black screen? And so I went looking for a coding initiation workshop. I found SheCodes and its initiation workshop in one weekend. Some of my developer friends validated that SheCodes had amazing workshops and they couldn't be more right! Matt is an engaging speaker who introduces us to the programming world and encourages us to make the most of every minute of that weekend. The pace is mind-blowing but inspirational. The result of those 16 hours is that you can do a number of things that 48 hours ago you didn't even think possible. I loved it!
Many times in my professional life I have managed website relaunches and other digital projects together with digital agencies and developers. The SheCodes workshop gave me great insights and actual skills to coding websites! I will for sure benefit from this in future projects and meetings as I now have a much better understanding of the development process of websites - thanks to the workshop!

SheCodes changed my life in a way I could not have imagined. Not only did I discover a new skill I love, it led me to quit my actual job as a hospitality agent (I used to work in a hotel as a front desk agent)!! I had zero experience in programming before starting the SheCodes workshop. I wanted to challenge myself and learn a new skill. I also thought it would be beneficial for my job, as I work at a software vendor company as a Recruiter and I wanted to gather more knowledge about the job of a Developer. I enjoyed the course immensely! The structure and the provided guidance made it a fun experience to get the first insights into programming. I now have much better understanding of many concepts in programming and can do some basic operations in CSS, HTML and JS.
It's a good start for people who have trouble following online courses. The weekly assignments and webinar format work well. A bit too rushed to learn things in depth, but as I said, a good start.
It is a good way to begin coding. You don't need any previous experience to get started, although I think it would be handy. 3-week long live workshop gives you the opportunity to see whether you would like to continue and take a more serious step towards it. It was great!

I've really enjoyed the online coding workshop and I can not believe how much I've learned in such a short period of time. Matt is a great instructor, he has provided high-quality course materials with accompanying challenges and homework. He also gave lots of useful tips throughout the workshop including how to search to get the best results and how to use the keyboard more efficiently. I took my first steps towards becoming a developer thanks to SheCodes and cannot wait to continue with the other SheCodes courses to learn more!

If you want to actually learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript basics - take this course with Matt. After taking a bunch of other courses in-person and online, this is the only one where I truly felt that I understood everything. My goal was to have functional knowledge of Javascript basics, and I definitely gained those skills. I'm very excited to take the next step in learning more so I can make my designs and illustrations come to life.
Excellent workshop to start studying these programming languages. However, it does require some basic knowledge of programming logic, in my view. It was a very positive experience.

My 1st ever experience with coding was about 20 years ago or so! Do you remember Geocities, at Yahoo? I remember I created a very rudimentary website with HTML there. Since then, my academic and working career has had nothing to do with coding at all. Lately I have become more interested at coding since I love learning new things and this workshop has been a nice challenge for me. It has also allowed me to explore my creativity and think about personal future projects. And definitely, it is an opportunity if you consider to change career. SheCodes allows you to take part in affordable fun workshops.
I was surprised how much I learned within a short period of time. It was so much fun too. The course made me feel more secure within working as a coder"beginner".
The videos are ok for a complete beginner, but the information is already available for free. I expected the live sessions to be denser and to go into detail much more. Also, I expected the courses to explain the theory and to show practical examples much more. I would only recommend this course to someone who has zero knowledge of HTML/CSS, but not to someone who's good at learning on their own or who already followed some tutorials. For the same price, you can get a 3-month subscription on a DEV-focused platform and learn all these skills, plus much more :). So in my case definitely the expectations were too high for what the course offers, especially when it comes to the live sessions.

The live workshops and the homework in between was a perfect combination and gave me the time to study even additional information. I would highly recommend the coding workshops at SheCodes.
I attended to SheCodes Live Workshop, so I can only talk about that. The course itself is instructed nicely, however I believe the curriculum was not very well suited to the amount of money that you pay (at my time it was 99 euros). you are going to have Courses and homeworks for 2 weeks, and the whole third week is dedicated to your final project, which I believe it could be better if they would have some material for the 3rd week too (Matt is going to have live webinar for 4 times in total, once per week). If you are brand new in coding then yes that is a good way to start. Also the slack-chat environment has a really nice, helpful and friendly atmosphere. BUT for someone who has a tiny little bit of coding experience I wont recommend this course. you should look for more challenging homeworks and syllabus. They are at the starting point though, so most probably they are going to improve themselves a lot.

SheCodes is a very interesting way to learn the bases of web development and understand it's not really rocket-science. The teaching method is very interactive, allowing us to apply the bases after each class and giving the tools to continue learning by ourselves!

Matt is a great instructor. He presented all of the information in a way that was easy to understand. I really enjoyed being part of this project, although there are many other things to learn, it has challenged me in a way I haven't had for a long time and gave me the desire to learn more.
Coding has been something that I, as a Key Account Manager specialized in Fashion and E-Commerce, have always needed at work. It is so important to understand the digital part of the business and come up with dynamic and up-to-date solutions!
