SheCodes was the perfect mix of guided and flexible learning, a supportive community and real-life career advices. The course gave me a first great overview on what kind of tools and skills I need in order to implement programming projects in practice. I got finally a solid base of experience to discuss the framework of websites and even more. Excited to explore and deepen my newly acquired knowledge.
I thoroughly enjoyed the class as it was very interactive and super easy to follow as I have no background knowledge in coding. I am utterly grateful for this opportunity!
I attended to SheCodes Live Workshop, so I can only talk about that. The course itself is instructed nicely, however I believe the curriculum was not very well suited to the amount of money that you pay (at my time it was 99 euros). you are going to have Courses and homeworks for 2 weeks, and the whole third week is dedicated to your final project, which I believe it could be better if they would have some material for the 3rd week too (Matt is going to have live webinar for 4 times in total, once per week). If you are brand new in coding then yes that is a good way to start. Also the slack-chat environment has a really nice, helpful and friendly atmosphere. BUT for someone who has a tiny little bit of coding experience I wont recommend this course. you should look for more challenging homeworks and syllabus. They are at the starting point though, so most probably they are going to improve themselves a lot.
SheCodes has a great learning atmosphere and provides a great introduction for anyone looking for a starting point. Wonderful tips and varied content - I can only recommend it!

The SheCodes Workshop has opened a new world to me. I gave it a go just to try a new skill and see if coding could be a path for me. Turns out I have achieved much more than I expected in a fast, but totally effective way. The learning environment is great, with all the girls helping each other and Matt does a great job!

SheCodes workshop is a fast-paced crash course program that gives you a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and is the perfect place to understand whether coding is for you without committing too much time or money. SheCodes workshop was an amazing experience for me! I got to learn something that is usually perceived as complex and difficult in a really friendly environment. The program was really well planned and organized, the classroom atmosphere was very relaxed and positive, with classmates helping and encouraging one another during the exercises. SheCodes staff (including volunteers and technical assistants) were very attentive and supportive throughout the weekend and really made a difference in the experience (including Matt's playlists! :)) . Thank you all! I am looking forward to learning more about coding in the next program I got enrolled into - SheCodes Plus - and to build an app at the end of the program.
I always thought that programming and code writing wasn't for me. It simply felt like something unachievable, to be completely honest. I am an Engineer student but unfortunately, I was never exposed to code in such a way that felt or seemed attractive. This intense weekend helped me feel confident that I too can gain this skill! Despite the fast pace, Matt answered every question and the team helped us at every practical challenge. Working full time is not easy to commit to something so interesting, but also so complicate as coding. This course helped me to acquire the basics and to use them in a practical way. The most important thing of this course is the social aspect that allows you to meet many amazing people that are constantly facing the same issues as you and to get loot of support. I attended one of the coding workshops in Lisbon. While the 2 day workshop is quite intense and fast paced, Matt's instruction is highly effective. My expectations for the ability to grasp the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript were exceeded. This was a pleasant surprise me as I knew almost nothing about coding beforehand. For any lady who is interested in a career as a developer, SheCodes is the perfect starting point.

Honestly, this workshop is amazing! It helps women to see new opportunities in their career, Iβve never seen so many happy and motivated students, every part of the workshop was fun and interesting. For almost 10 years I worked as a Public Relation manager in Russia and I didnβt have any experience in coding. Iβve visited a lot of courses and classes, but this workshop changed my professional life completely, after 4 weeks of such an intensive program I feel more confident in communication with my IT colleagues. Hello. I'm Fernanda, from Brazil. I'm a journalist very interested in coding. I've learned a bit during my masters in New Media and Web Practices, but need to deepen my knowledge. Taking part in SheCodes Lisbon was a step further into coding, and I definitely recommend more women to do the same.
I acquired the basic understanding of coding in only one single hard-working weekend of classes and in another weekend of working on my final project. This is amazing.
When I started this workshop I didn't know anything about code. Matt managed to explain everything in a very approachable, sucint and humored way. The fact that we made many exercises helped me a lot to apply the knowledge recently acquired. After this wonderful weekend I understand a lot better what coding means and its huge power and possibilities if we pursue this career in the future.
