I have been a stay at home mom for the past 8 years. Now that my children are getting older I wanted to do something for me and learn something new. I have been interested in learning to code for 2 years before joining She Codes. I am so glad that I found She Codes! Learning to code this way is easy to understand and it is something I am able to maintain while still caring for my family full time.
My SheCodes journey over the past 6 weeks has been a rollercoaster. I struggled a lot, often postponing my work until I was left with only two opportunities to reschedule. Despite my busy schedule, I found enjoyment in the process. The last week, however, was particularly tough. I faced many challenges with the API, and since my project was different from what was taught, I had to approach some tasks in my own way. Even though it was challenging, Iβm proud of how much Iβve learned and how I pushed through the obstacles. This experience has truly been rewarding.

This course is very informative as well as easy to follow. I like that they also allow you to discover other things and encourage you to build more and more pages to familiarize yourself with what other functions there is within HTML. It was trial and error however loved the course.

This workshop was quite difficult to grasp in the beginning but I am glad I pushed through and completed the assigned project.I am eager to apply what i have learnt to build other projects.Thank you Shecodes and Matt for this experience.
This course improved my Python skills by teaching me about object-oriented programming, data manipulation, and data visualisation using Matplotlib.
I'm so proud of myself for finishing my React Add-on project! I had more fun working on this dictionary app because I understood React a bit more. Although React can get frustrating with the errors and warnings, it's an incredible program! I can see how someone who masters React can build different websites and apps half the time it would take with vanilla Javascript. Anyway, I'm so happy I'm done and excited for whats to come!
Homework assignments included tasks not covered in training. This is claimed to encourage independent learning, however I am paying money to be taught not to waste considerable time searching on Google. The education approach using the 'sink or swim' method was debunked years ago. It is unclear if the presenter is a qualified trainer. This also indicates my time is not being valued in this course. They have not updated the training videos in years. They are teaching JavaScript ES6 which was released in 2015. There have been 9 updated versions since then. Took 3 weeks for their team to respond to a message in slack. They required me to provide a public testimonial to βvalidateβ my completion certificate. This should not be required to obtain my certificate as it is not a learning outcome and if the work is completed, the certificate should be provided. Then when I initially attempted to provide a low rating, the website returned an error message (for multiple days - not a βconnection errorβ as claimed). Then it defaulted to a 5 star rating and ended up on their website even though it still appeared as an error on my end. I was contacted to provide another review on Facebook after they read my last βgreat reviewβ. When I asked if there was a review rating attributed to me as I attempted to provide a low rating, I was advised βnoβ. This was a lie and my name and (incorrect 5 *) rating was on the website.
This was a really great program! Using everything that we learned so far to build a web app was really fun!

At first Python seemed like a very strict, unfriendly language, but that is really not the case. Through every advanced lesson I saw that Python is actually fun , Python is actually friendly. These well-structured workshop are beginner friendly and I love how we are learning advanced real life stuff to enable that we are tech-industry-ready.
This has been another incredible journey for me, as I learned how to integrate AI-powered data into a webpage using an AI API. Seeing the data fetched and displayed dynamically felt like a huge milestone! This workshop has expanded my capabilities, and Iβm excited to apply these new skills in future projects.

I had so much fun with the add-ons, a lot of stuff I had forgotten but also a lot of "so, that's how they did it..!!". The small chunks really made it easy for me to go through the material without feeling overwhelmed.

After successfully completing my recent coding project, Iβm proud of the results Iβve achieved. The project challenged me to CSS e.g. when I had to put a picture , and I learned valuable lessons throughout the development process. I worked extensively with HTML to create good elements. One of the most fulfilling aspects of the project was when I had to put heading 1 and heading 2 . This experience allowed me to not only enhance my technical abilities but also refine my problem-solving and project management skills. Iβm excited about the progress Iβve made and look forward to applying the knowledge gained to future projects. Overall, this project was a great opportunity for growth, and Iβm eager to take on new challenges in the world of coding and development.
